RE: Siri Issue

This happens to me every once in a while. Turning the phone off & back on
always solves it.

This happened to me once a long time ago. Lets try this to see if it works. Go
into Siri and turn it off. If you have a phone with a home button you'll turn
it off where it says use Siri with home button. If you don't have home button
it will say Siri with side button. After you turn that off, go into general and
keyboards and turn off dictation. Wait about a minute or so and go through the
same steps to turn them both back on. Hopefully this will fix the issue you're
having.

for the day-to-day stuff, but at normal human speaking rate I have not yet met
anybody except maybe Karla who was not very impressed with this new female SIRI
voice and I still don't know if Karla set her as the Voiceover voice as you did
and cranked up the volume. I could also not stand her in that situation.

Ha, I thought I was the only one who didn't like the new siri voice. I usually
keep the rate set to 70% and I didn't care for her at all. I kept her around
for a day, thinking I might get used to her, but this morning I went back to my
compact Samantha. Of course I prefer Eloquence on my laptop so go figure.

Eloquence on the iPhone would be great.

Sadly, I don't think it's going to ever happen.

on Mac OS there is a hack to get it working, but since this is an iOS
forum i won't go into it here.

Works well on Android devices though thanks to the good foke  at code
factory.

I use com packed Karen which is nice and crisp and doesn't cut off words
unlike some of the other TTS'S.

Hi. Totally agree with you regarding the new Siri female voice. It
isn’t the most responsive by a long shot but the most human sounding
I’ve ever heard on an iPhone. Hopefully, responsiveness will improve.
Despite the small lag, I still am keeping her as my default voice
because she’s so pleasant to listen to. As you mentioned she’s the best at
normal human speed.

2017-09-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I have it set to 55% for the SIRI voice, just ask SIRI a question, this will
give you a good example of what she should sound like.
Ask her “What is the forecast for today”.

I have never had a problem with Samantha like her a lot more than
Alex. The new siri voice will have to try it with voice over. I just
need to remember how to setup that voice with vo.

RE: Siri Issue

2017-09-21 Thread Rick Alfaro
Hi. Totally agree with you regarding the new Siri female voice. It isn’t the
most responsive by a long shot but the most human sounding I’ve ever heard on
an iPhone. Hopefully, responsiveness will improve. Despite the small lag, I
still am keeping her as my default voice because she’s so pleasant to listen
to. As you mentioned she’s the best at normal human speed.

That shows how subjective TTS voices sound to us. I always preferred Samantha
for Voiceover, to me she sounds just fine and if you truly have downloaded the
new female american SIRI voice then I really don’t understand where you get the
witch thing because I think she is one of the best TTS voices I have ever
heard. I don’t have an Amazon Echo, but from Podcasts I heard I thought Alexa
also sounds extremely good, but this new SIRI voice is probably the most human
sounding voice I have ever heard. I must add that she only sounds good at
regular human speaking volume, if you download her for Voiceover and cranc up
the volume it’s a different story, her kind of voice is not meant to speak fast.

Unfortunately the next update won’t change things since I’m sure after the
amount of money and effort Apple has gone through to come up with that voice
they won’t go back to what she sounded like before.

questions about the gmail application RE: Siri Issue

2013-11-15 Thread Luis Eduardo Peña
Hello,

Yesterday I downloaded the gmail app for iPhone5s. When I tried to configure
my account the apps kept indicating that my user name and or my password was
incorrect. This happened several times in spite of the fact that I requested
sighted assistance. Has any of you experienced this difficulty? By the way,
how accessible is this app?

I also would like to know what is the fastest procedure to delete email
messages from the native iPhone mail app.

Thank you.

Hi listers,

For the past two days, siri has not worked for me. I have tried shutting
down the phone and starting it back up, Restarting it with home Lock, and
a quick restart with the lock button 6 times quickly. My cell signal is max,
and my wifi is max. I have even tried shutting off wifi to see if siri
works on the cell service. I disabled siri, then enabled it again.

Nothing worked.

Note. I have a 4S, running IOS 7.0.3.

My wife has an iPhone 5 running IOS 6 and her siri is working just fine.

Suggestions are appreciated,

Thom

RE: Siri Issue

2013-09-26 Thread Candy
I am also having a big problem with Siri. The way that she works the best is
for me to first turn voice over off and then give her a command. Then she works
fine. If I have voice over on and give her a command she says, things you can
ask me to do. I didn't have this problem at all with iOS 6.br/br/Sent from
Yahoo! Mail for iPhone

Re: Siri Issue

2013-09-26 Thread Chris H
Well while you're at it you can always tell Siri to turn VoiceOver on
for you. Same is true for turning it off. I know this will be a godsend
for us particularly in situations where VoiceOver has gone and we have
no sightlings around.

Check the siri language it should use your native language. That's my
guess anyway. Settings general siri language. Any siri users out here
have any ideas?

I wonder how many of the 9 million iPhones sold our new customers. They all
must be trying out Siri, because quite often I am getting no service.

I had this issue right after upgrading, a reboot of the phone fixed this. It
could be server related.
