Re: Syncing photos from iPhone to PC...

2020-05-03 Thread Holly
Siegardt and Richard:

I have had iCloud for windows on my desktop for about two years, and all was
fine until I upgraded to Windows 10.

I am not sure where I first downloaded it from, but think it was just a link
that came up on my PC after I got my iPhone.

In any case, if the next step doesn’t fix the problem, I will give up on it.

I don’t take that many pics, and, if I do, I usually call AIRA to take the pic
and email it to me.

If I can’t fix it today, I will follow your advise, Richard, and jus transfer
the pics manually, using the charger.

Thanks everyone!

You have to make sure you get the iCloud version from the Microsoft store for
Windows 10 not the desktop version you can download from Apple. The Windows 10
app is somewhat accessible, the desktop version is not at all accessible.

I gave up on iCloud for Windows.
For one thing, it ended up eating up a lot of CPU.
As tedious as it may be, the lightning plug and manually copying them is the
most reliable and once you get used to it, much faster than messing around in
iCloud for Windows.
Just my 2¢ worth.

Re: Syncing photos from iPhone to PC...

2020-05-03 Thread PRAMIT BHARGAVA
Hi Holly,

If you've already signed in your icloud account on the computer don't log
out from it again.

1. Open the iCloud application on your computer.
2. In the box that pops up, check the box next to Photos.
3. Select on Options to choose how you'd like to sync your images.
4. Check the box labelled iCloud Photo Library to upload and store your PC
photo library in iCloud.
5. If you'd like to automatically download all photos and video from iCloud
Photo Library to your PC,
you should also check the Download new photos and videos to my PC box and
the Upload new photos and videos from my PC box, and choose the respective
folders.

Hi
Pramit:

Well, I started with your first instruction. For one thing, when I go into
‘photos’ in the iCloud app, I don’t see any mention of ‘my photo library’. I
do see ‘my photo stream’ and that is turned on.

Also, when I go to sign out, it says to sign out to turn off ‘find my phone’.
Is this the right way to sign out?

When I open the iCloud app on my PC, I can’t find an option to sign out. How
do I sign out of the app on my PC?

Right after I got my desktop back from the computer store, I had to sign in to
iCloud right away.

Also, when I open the iCloud app on the PC, I can see all the buttons for mail,
calendar, photos, etc., but when I enter on the photo's button, nothing
happens. I am using JAWS 2020 and Windows 10.

What do you think?

Mike:

Well, your instructions worked, but it is kind of a work around. It would be
better if I could get my photos to be automatically sent to my PC from my phone
without having to plug it in to the computer and go through all those steps.

I have iCloud photos folder on my PC, and it used to be that any picture I took
would be sent to that folder in just seconds without plugging in the phone to
the computer.
Pramit gave me some steps to try, so will see if that will work. If not, I
will use your directions.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Syncing photos from iPhone to PC...

2020-05-01 Thread Mike B.
Hi Holly,

Just plug your iPhone into your PC's USB port with your data / charge cable.
You will get a dialogue that'll pop-up on your iPhone asking about trusting
this device and you should get a dialogue on the computer stating it's
setting up the iPhone, so give the iPhone the okie dokie, and if you go
to This PC / list of drives, on my computer anyways, it's shows as, Apple
iPhone , in the list of drives and folders.

Press enter on your iPhone icon and you should see a folder called, Internal
Storage, press enter.
Now you should see a folder called, DCIM, press enter to open this bad boy
up.
In here you might have 1 or more sub-folders, but you can open each of them
to view your pictures or whatever, I say whatever because my DCIM folder is
empty, but I save the pictures from my wife's iPhone this way. Now just
copy and paste these folders or content to whatever folder on your computer.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

Hi List:

I just got my PC back from having a new solid state hard drive installed,
along with a new video card.

I am running Windows 10 and have an iPhone 7.

I don't take many pictures, so not sure if this is a new problem or not, but
I am not able to get the pics on my iPhone to sync to my iCloud photos on my
PC.

I did a Google search and tried every suggestion, as far as settings on the
phone and PC are concerned, but still no luck.

The photos are showing up when I open the iCloud app on the PC, so I know
they are there. Just can't get them to sync to the iCloud photo folder.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks, Holly

Hi Holly,

On on your iPhone, go to icloud settings and Toggle OFF and ON your icloud
Photo Library and My Photo Stream.
Also sign out from icloud on both your devices and sign back in after a
restart.
Open icloud on your PC and under options,
make sure that iCloud Photo Library and My Photo Stream both are selected.

Hope this helps
