RE: VoiceOver volume problem

2016-08-24 Thread Chip Orange
Thank you for your response.

Just wanted you and other to know, this was a known bug (not related to the
play live option) in the Roger app. It happens much less frequently with the
latest version, but Roger still does cause my sound to change or diminish in
volume; I tell Siri to go to Sound Settings, and this usually sets it back to
normal, but it’s still a Roger problem.

Hi,
When you first open Roger if you flick to the right you will find a button that
says play life if this button is on when your messages come in they will play
automatically if it is turned off they will not play. In the description of the
update under what's new this button is explained.

RE: VoiceOver volume problem

2016-08-15 Thread Chip Orange
Yes, once I reported via email I received a response that an update should be
available in a couple of days!!!

I have reported in the past via the voice option in “help”, and there I seemed
to receive no response or action, so I definitely recommend the email support.

Now that I was sure it wasn’t hardware in my phone, I figured I could handle it
until it was fixed.

Yes, you’re right about the notifications problem; I allowed it to do some
types of notifications, which stops the nag dialog, and then I go into a
group’s settings and mute the notifications for that group (which you can only
do for a week at a time, but this stops most of the constant notifications).

Hi,

The fact that Roger switches to the ear piece from the speaker is not new with
the last update. It was doing it before the update. They sure have a lot to
work on in this app. I also hate the fact that when I tell it I don’t want
notifications, it asks me again every time I stop the microphone. I should be
able to turn off notifications and then not be bothered with a question every
time I transmit a message.

This has been reported so, I guess we have to give them time to work on it.
They should look at fixing what needs to be fixed before trying to bring in new
features. Creating a group and inviting people to it is not as easy as it
could be.

Hi Kate. This is new in Roger. What you're describing is a new feature called
live mode which behaves the way you described. It can be turned off in settings
or find the settings button and flick right. Double tap on that and Roger will
behave the way it did before the update. I like it on but I can see where it
can get annoying especially in groups.

RE: VoiceOver volume problem

2016-08-14 Thread Ron

Hi,

Are you sure the volume drop is not because the sound has switched to the ear
piece? I have had that problem and I can bring it back by asking Siri a
question. Are you, by any chance, using the Roger app. That is the app that

RE: VoiceOver volume problem

2016-08-14 Thread Chip Orange
Hi,

As for Roger messages suddenly playing, this is due to a new setting of theirs
which they have placed on the main screen of Roger, not in its Settings area;
it is called “Live play” or something similar. It’s not a bug, but incredibly
is designed to do this.

RE: VoiceOver volume problem

2016-08-13 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Based on what Gordon described I would delete the Roger app and see if that
resolved the issue. If it does then you know what the problem is/was and I
guess the Roger developers have some fixing to do.

Sieghard

Subject: VoiceOver volume problem

Hi all,

Lately I’ve been having a problem where the VoiceOver volume will suddenly drop
to an inaudible level for no apparent reason. If I go to the sounds settings
it often will be restored to the proper level, and if I talk to Siri I find the
standard sound level is not affected (that is, it’s fine).

Restarting VoiceOver and/or Restarting the phone does not cure the problem.

I think this began around 9.3.4, but I also received a new Roger update around
the same time, so it could be either, or perhaps even some other update.

Are others noticing this, and do you have any ideas on what to do? I did call
Apple support, and they had me turn off VoiceOver and restart the phone, but
this only solved the issue for a short time before it recurred. They hinted
that perhaps resetting all settings may help, but that people often complained
about this as a debugging step (and I don’t know how to do it, and they never
did tell me).

Thanks,

Chip

Re: VoiceOver volume problem

2016-08-13 Thread Gordon
One thing I can tell you about this volume issue is that I had to delete
Roger from my Android phone because a recent Roger update caused the
same issue you're describing with the volume. I never installed Roger on
my iPhone, but the volume issue you're describing is exactly the same.
