Same here, I assume this is a result of which voice is used; I use Siri Voice 4

For me, there are no odd characters spoken, but it also does not say "read" but
if unread it speaks unread.

Running IOS17 on the regular 14 model, when flicking down say from a message in
a list of messages that are not unread will give you a choice of marking it as
read as usually does, no problem there but when I for instance say activate
that option, voiceover, instead doesn't read it as "read" instead it sounds
like a few Consonants like the letter R, the letter S, the letter, T, the
letter D, for example altogether instead of the word read. Not sure if you are
all experienceing this as well but try flicking dow on an unread message just
for fun, and when it says mark as read, double tap and take note of how it
sounds. It doesn’t matter what voice you use by the way I’ve used to them all
in this test and can confirm it sounds very strange to hear, irdst at least
this is the closest I could come to creating how it sounded to me, but anyway,
just thought I’d let you know.

RE: Re: Voiceover Bug with Native Mail App I encountered

2023-09-19 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
You may want to try different voices, I use US English Siri Voice 4 as my main
Voiceover voice and I don't have this issue with the Mail app when I mark an
email as read; I just tried again wearing a headset and I hear nothing like
what you demonstrated. First I would try and reboot the phone and if it still
happens with certain voices then you should file it as a bug/send an email to
Apple Accessibility about it. You already have the recording so this certainly
will help.

Amanda, outgoing, user_label_primary, then the rest of the information.

Reproducing the bug: simply go in to the phone app and view the call logs or

Is this a known issue or is there a solution?

Re: VoiceOver bug with mayo and previous/next button.

2014-09-23 Thread Christopher Chaltain
Yes, I've seen this as well. It's the same bug as the issue people have
seen where touching the delete button and double tapping brings you into
the reply dialog. I touch the next button and then swipe left to get to
the previous button. Now in IOS 8, I generally have to flick left twice
to get to the previous button. You could use this as a work around, but
I can see where it would kill your productivity.

On 09/23/2014 04:39 PM, Gmail wrote:

My practice in Mail is to split-tap the previous button to go through the list
of emails in a thread, then flick right twice to the name, and then do a
two-finger flick up to read the email. Unfortunately, split-tapping the the
previous button
Activates the next button, and I'm taken back to the email I just read, or in
some cases back to the email before the previous email. This is quite
frustrating, and I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this bug.

Thanks,

Re: Voiceover Bug

Are you sure that the voice is not on? I ask because that often
happens to me when I take my phone from the docking station and what
has actually happened is the voice volume has been turned down. I
don't know why it happens, but I fix it by putting one finger in the
status bar and then repeatedly press the volume up button. Pretty soon
I will hear the voice speaking the status bar information. This has
been going on for awhile, since before iOS 5 anyway.

Are you sure that the voice is not on? I ask because that often happens to
me when I take my phone from the docking station and what has actually
happened is the voice volume has been turned down. I don't know why it
happens, but I fix it by putting one finger in the status bar and then
repeatedly press the volume up button. Pretty soon I will hear the voice
speaking the status bar information. This has been going on for awhile,

What type, make and model of dock do you have?

I have a Sonos music iPHone dock and also the official Apple dock, and it does

Try pressing the sleep wake button five times. This works regardless of
whether the phone is locked or not.

RE: Voiceover Bug

2012-05-11 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi Carla.

I have a dock for my iPhone, and sometimes when I remove the phone from it I
have no speech. What I do is just raise the volume of the speech and it
comes back. Just hit the up volume button a few times, and hopefully this
will work for you. I agree that it's a nuisance.

Have a good day, and don't work too hard.
