Re: weather app

2024-04-05 Thread Jonathan Cohn
I have done this. I believe there is a locations bar near the bottom of the app
and one should be able to control default and add additional locations or
notifications for locations there.

Try double tapping on location list in the bottom right corner. On that next screen, double tap on the more button. Then, double tap on edit list. Now, flick right to the cities you do not want and flick up or down to delete, and double tap. Double tap on done when you are finished. Richard, USA“Grandma always told us, “Be careful when you pray for patience. I updated my third generation SE last night to version 16.4.1. I have 4
cities saved in the weather app that came on the phone. When I open the
app, it no longer opens on my current location. It seems to want to open on
the last page, which is not where I'm at.

I turned the phone off and on again. Also went into the app and reselected
Current Location. That didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Thanks for the tip about adding favorites to a favorites list in Weather Gods.
I just got it last night and am learning my way around.

So far, I really like it and, like you, like to keep track of the weather in
places with relatives.

I miss the old weather feature in the JAWS research it section. You could have
an unlimited number of favorites in that one.

This is a pretty cool app though and has lots of info that wasn’t available in
research it.

I have become increasingly dissatisfied with the weather app that comes
with the iPhone. It seems like I almost never get a temperature reading. It’s
usually blank. I also have the dark sky. Are used to really love that app, as
it provided accurate information and precipitation etc. But these days, it’s
all over the place. Predicted temperatures are crazy. Like when it predicted
that it was going to fall to 20° here in Eugene. Not that that can’t happen,
but nobody else was predicting that, and it didn’t get anywhere close I wonder
what apps people are using, which give them accurate local information, not
just based on some big general area. Dark sky claims to do that, or at least it
used to. I don’t care about funny jokes, such as are apparently a feature of a

In Weather Gods, double tap on the current place which should say button after
the city name.
Then you will find an option to search for a place and you can add it as a
favorite.
I have about 5 cities that I track because of having relatives spread around.

Re: weather app

2016-04-08 Thread Lois Butterfield

Hi Lois,

There is an edit button at the bottom right if it's the same as the phone.
Double tap that. When you touch the city you want to delete, do a 1-finger
swipe up. You should hear delete. Double tap, and it's gone.

I apologize if the IPod touch does not work the same. I just thought it
might.

Take care,

Re: weather app

2016-04-07 Thread Tom Lange
There is no delete key. Find the city that you want to delete then flick up
once and you should hear voiceover say delete
. Double tap to delete the city, then double tap on any remaining city to
return to the screen for that city. Hope that helps.

RE: weather app.

2016-03-29 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
The app the original poster talked about is an Android app. It probably exists
as an iOS app as well since many developers put out their apps on both
platforms, but of course if it’s accessible on Android it doesn’t mean it’s
accessible in iOS with Voiceover and vice versa.

I also strongly disagree with the statement that there is no such thing as “bad
weather”, only “bad weather apps”. If the poster doesn’t think there is such a
thing as bad weather I’ll invite him/her up to northern Canada sometime in
January *smile*.

Sieghard

Hi Sieghard,

I have asked the developer to add the current temperature on the badge quite a
while ago and got no response. Have you tried to ask for that? It would be
great and would bring us back to the previous app from Environment Canada that
did that for us.

The app costs $3.99, here is the link:

RE: Weather app iOS eight

I have just upgraded my 5S to iOS 8.1. That means, I have the new weather app.
With the old weather app, I enjoyed being able to see the hour by hour
forecast. I'm not seeing that with the new app, but I imagine it's there, and
I'm just missing it. How can I get our by hour forecast for the current day?

If you use the down volume button as a reference point, go down about a half

Re: Weather app question

2014-05-29 Thread Alex Hall
Open Weather. In the bottom right corner is a button labeled edit cities.
Double tapping that brings up a list of the cities you have, each of which is a
button. Double tapping any city will switch to it; the trick is to do a
one-finger flick up on the city. VO will say delete, you double tap, and the
city is removed.

RE: weather app for canada

2013-10-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hey Ron,

I really don't think you have to dress that much differently if it's minus
35 or minus 42 *smile* Better to just stay home anyways

OK, just bugging you, I agree, though, the felt like temperature is
important at lower temps because you could easily have minus 15 with a feels
like of minus 30 and then the difference is pretty major.

May apparently knows about Degrees, though, since she is asking for an
alternative to Degrees which updates more often. I find myself Degrees does
everything I want, when I just checked it said issued 53 minutes ago and I
will check in 10 minutes if it updated which would mean it probably updates
current conditions every hour.

OK, so I just checked and it now says issued 14 minutes ago, didn't
totally keep track of the time, but I think it wasn't more than 15 or 20
minutes until I last checked when it said 53 minutes, so I think every hour
seems about right.

Take care,

Sieghard

Hi Ioana,

I like Degrees. I like, especially now with winter coming, the fact that I
can have the feels like temperature displayed on the badge. In the
winter, I don't really care to know if it is minus 35 if it really fells
like minus 42. The minus 42 is what will decide what I wear that day.

Re: weather app for canada

2013-10-21 Thread Victor Gouveia

Have you tried the Weather Network app?

That one is fully accessible, at least for the most part, as some buttons
aren't labeled correctly, but it's completely usable, and it offers you the
five day forecast, or the full day's forecast at various times during the
day, for example, the current conditions, later that afternoon, and later
that evening's conditions.

If you check the conditions in the afternoon, it'll tell you the conditions
in the afternoon, in other words, the current conditions, later that
evening, and overnight.

Likewise, if you check the conditions in the evening, it'll tell you the
conditions for that evening, in other words, current, overnight, and the
morning of the next day.

I'll see if I can send you the direct link to the app in the app store.

RE: weather app for canada

2013-10-21 Thread Ron Pelletier
Hi again,

Don't forget Degrees doesn't display minus temperatures on the badge. That
can be a bit tricky when you are close to the 0 mark but when it is minus
10, you can't confuse that with 10 degrees.

Yeah, I like degrees as well, especially with the feels like temp. It's not
a huge thing if there's not another out there. I was just curious.

Especially since degrees was telling me feels like temp was like 3 when it
was actually -1. Anywho, thanks all for whatever may come up, *smiles*

That one is fully accessible, at least for the most part, as some buttons

five day forecast, or the full day's forecast at various times during the
day, for example, the current conditions, later that afternoon, and later
 that evening's conditions.

If you check the conditions in the afternoon, it'll tell you the conditions

 and overnight.

Likewise, if you check the conditions in the evening, it'll tell you the

I'll see if I can send you the direct link to the app in the app store.

RE: weather app for canada

2013-10-21 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Hi May,

Keep in mind that Degrees cannot display negative temperatures on the badge
icon. If you see a 1 or a 2 it could be minus 1 or 2 or plus 1 or 2. For
temperatures close to 0 you just have to go into the app and check it there,
usually one would expect that if it's December and the badge icon says 10,
that this probably is minus 10 and not plus 10, at least not where I live.if
it's minus 5 or 10

Hi Margaret,

Choose the Edit Cities button near the bottom of the Weather app screen. On the
page where you can add and delete cities, there are Fahrenheit and Celsius
buttons near the bottom. VO tells you which is selected. Double-tap the one you
want, and then choose the Done button in the upper right corner to return to
the main Weather screen.

Best,

I'm assuming we're talking about the stock Weather app? If so, is it

Hi Margaret,

Choose the Edit Cities button near the bottom of the Weather app screen. On
the page where you can add and delete cities, there are Fahrenheit and
Celsius buttons near the bottom. VO tells you which is selected. Double-tap
the one you want, and then choose the Done button in the upper right corner
to return to the main Weather screen.

Best,

I also wonder if there is a weather app that shows severe weather warnings.
Thanks.
God bless!

RE: Weather app

2012-05-08 Thread Harmony Neil
I just use the built in weather app, or else the met office one, but the met
office app is only for the UK and is somewhat limited.

Re: Weather app

2012-05-08 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hello Albert, yes it does. You can do it this way, or you can add
multiple cities. You can make it so you are notified each time the
program updates, or you can just look at the badge icon. It's very
flexible. And for those of you who don't want to use the Imperial
system, there is a sister app called Celsius which does the same thing,
but in the Metric system.

Hi Raul, does this weather app use GPS base services where when you go

Hi, I use Fahrenheit and love it. There is a number on the icon which
tells you the current temperature. It has other features, but this is
the main reason why I got it. The cost was just under 1 dollar.
