RE: mag safe on new iPhones. Will older charging units, wireless, still work, or does one need to purchase a mag safe charger to get wireless charging?

2020-10-26 Thread Simon A Fogarty
But currently the watch nor the airpods have magsafe charging available,

Or is it a magsafe connection for the phone and the standard puck and area for
the pods to sit on type thing.

I believe Belkin has already announced a mag safe charger which will be able to
charge an iPhone, an Apple Watch and possibly a set of Airpods.

I should look into that. I have cables in every room and sometimes in multiple
places in some rooms since we have two iPads, two iPhones, an iPod, and two
Apple Watches. Cables are beginning to take over the house. I wonder, do they
have wireless charging options for the watch 6 series?

I rarely plug my iPhone in any mor, my wife and I both have wireless chargers

I have another at my store in the office and one near the registers for my

Whenever I need to charge my phone or just want to top up the battery I just
lay it on the charging pad and if I walk away I put it back in my belt holster.
No more cable to plug in or disconnect.

I really haven't used the charger at all. It does use an adapter that you plug
into the wall, then you just place the iPhone on the pad. I don't remember how
much it was. However, I'm sure you can find one on amazon.

I do keep a cable in my purse, so that if I ever am stranded somewhere

I talk on my phone through headset most of the time, so no problem when
charging on wireless, just connect headset and do whatever I want, including

The pad is so convenient, sort of like hanging up an old phone.

I have another at my store in the office and one near the registers for my
staff to use.

RE: mag safe on new iPhones. Will older charging units, wireless, still work, or does one need to purchase a mag safe charger to get wireless charging?

2020-10-26 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
A 15 Watt wireless charger will be faster as long as it supports Apple's 7.5
Watt standard which is different from the fast charging standard used by
Android devices which is I believe using 10 Watts.
I think if and when my wife and I buy our next iPhones which will probably be
one of the iPhone 14 phones in 2022 I would probably buy new mag safe wireless
chargers as well in order to take advantage of the newer and higher capacity
fast charging these will have, but I would buy it also because I do often
listen to a book using wired earpods in the evening when my phone is lying on
the charging pad and it's very easy to pull a bit on the headset and to pull it
just enough so it doesn't charge any more. I really like the idea of the phone
snapping in place and aligning itself using the magnets. I am curious to hear
how stron gthose magnets are, e.g. would you actually be able to say stick the
iPhone on a fridge and it would stay there?

Best regards,
Sieghard

hi,
I have not seen this question addressed anywhere.
With mag safe on the new iPhones, will a mag safe wireless charging unit be
required to charge wirelessly, or will older wireless charging units without
MagSafe, still be usable?
Thanks in advance. Keith

Re: mag safe on new iPhones. Will older charging units, wireless, still work, or does one need to purchase a mag safe charger to get wireless charging?

2020-10-25 Thread Nimer Jaber
Older wireless pads will work just fine. You can also use magsafe, and you
will get increased speeds.

2020-10-25 Thread Joshua Hendrickson
I'm not positive, but I'd be very surprised if older wireless charging
pads didn't work with the newer iPhones. I've got a wireless charger
that is a 15 watt charger and I'm pretty sure it would work with the
newer iPhones. Good luck.
