Hi. In the last week, since I updated to Voice Dream 4.02, my library syncing issues have been fixed. All my files are showing up and I have downloaded the few voices which I have purchased before. Some of us have had problems with the voices screen in the new version of voice dream. That is, voiceover is not reading the right thing, or it's simply not finding the voice that we know we bought. That did not happen to me on the screen for English. It did happen on the screen for all, where I had to go to get my Russian voices. Others have reported no such issue. If you are having this particular problem, and you have access to cited help, ask them to help you. That is what I had to do. And it worked just fine. Are you selecting them under manage my voices? Do you have one set as preferred? When you listen to a specific book/file, if you double tap on the audio settings button at the top of the screen, you can select a voice for that specific file. I have 2.4 GB available in iCloud. I have 112 items in Voice Dream. 1 of those is an MP3 book that is 3.5 hours in length. Many of my bookshare books are around 20 hours in VDR time at about 300 words per minute, which with the new voices I'll be increasing. One of them is about 30 hours in VDR time. I have a few Writer documents but they are all small. So, the books really do not take a lot of space. I have not purchased any extra iCloud space. Sorry about that, I forgot about the audio file portion. I have no audio files, only documents. Some of the documents are one or two hours long, in VDR time, for whatever that's worth. I have about half of my iCloud space left. I'm not sure if files and documents in iCloud Drive use the same space as in iCloud, like for phone backups and data. How much space would regular documents take up in iCloud Drive? I have several articles, some reference material, books, and other documents in Voice Dream Reader. Richard, I looked in my settings and iCloud Drive is on, as well as the VoiceDream toggle on the iCloud Drive screen. OK can I get some help up here please. I am having trouble with getting my voices to download again. I have four voices, and all I could get is Samantha to work or Alex not the ones that I bought. It says it's complete it wouldn't download them when I try to use them they're not in the list, what am I doing wrong? Please help, thanks and advance. Is iCloud Drive on? I have over 100 books and one is an mp3 book and it did not take very long. If you have a lot of mp3 files, Winston actually does not recommend using iCloud sync because they take a lot of room and take a long time. Anna, I'm curious since I've not used iCloud much except for backup of my iPhone 6 via the storage option. I checked all the listings under Settings, iCloud and found nothing listed as iCloud Sync. I'm wondering if it's time to turn more of this iCloud stuff on but I seem to recall some problems with it a while back which they've no doubt worked out by now. Is the iCloud Sync only available with iOS 9.x since I'm still running 8.3? Or maybe it's located under one of the other options such as iCloud Drive. I thought it would be a good idea to turn this on before upgrading my Voice Dream app. Thanks for any suggestions. After you do the update, open VDR and double tap on cog wheel Settings: in there is the toggle to turn on iCloud sync. After that process is complete, it's back into Settings, Manage Voices, Shop to download again any previously purchased voices. Hope that helps. I could be wrong but I think the backup that Winston is referring to is not a full backup of your iDevice but to back up the actual voice Dream Reader Library File via the file sharing portion of iTunes. That way you have the file with your library rather than a iTunes backup of your entire phone. I hope that makes sense and I could be wrong. Well, maybe it was just my luck, and you weren't playing with fire. The screwup that happened actually had nothing to do with the library. It had to do with the loss of voices I purchased and have never been able to successfully use again on my new phone. Thank you, for clarifying what will happen with my two different libraries. I thought that perhaps one might try to override the other one, which would be really bad in either case, but especially if the large one word to be the one to be overwritten. I was considering simply not upgrading my phone to the newest version, because there really aren't that many things on it, and some of them are unique. But I guess I will give it a go. Hi Mary, It's probably a good idea to back up your libraries just in case, particularly the large one, since doing so won't hurt anything and may help if something goes wrong. as for how having different libraries will work, What happens if you turn on iCloud sync is that all your books get saved in iCloud and downloaded to all devices on which you've turned on iCloud Sync. So if you turn it on on both devices, both devices will end up having all your books and saved reading positions. How many of you backed up your library to iTunes prior to installing the new version? BTW, Apple left a line in the update info in the app store that shouldn't have been there. It reads "Pro Features (requires in-app purchase for existing users)". I just verified with Winston, there are no paid features in the upgrade, they are all free. If you want to show your appreciation for the new features, you could buy a new voice.
