[weewx-user] Changing my PWS hardware...

2020-11-28 Thread Tom Cichowicz
I've just ordered a new PWS (WS-2902C) and want to switch to that hardware
from WeatherFlow.

What is the procedure to do that?

2020-09-20 Thread Tom Cichowicz
Thanks ...

I've trimmed down my rss.xml.tmpl - to remove those additional
page/links so I'm 404 error free now.

2020-09-20 Thread Tom Cichowicz

   thanks for the info ... (following your instructions did remove the
double //slash - THANKS) I'm using the default skin - Seasons - what is
confusing me is that the RSS feed is creating links to pages that do not
exist, nor the Seasons skin has .tmpl files for. So I'm assuming that's why
they are NOT being created? I tried copying those files (week.html.tmpl ,
month.html.tmpl, year.html.tmpl) to the Seasons skin folder - however, no
files have yet to be created.

 As you can assume this is all very new to me, still trudging through the
'How to ' sections of documentation..

 Also still figuring out how the whole thing does what it does.

 I have not proceeded to implement the RSS feed as a goal, it's just that
When I added the rss.xml file as provided to my RSS feed reader - it
creates feed/links/pages that are 404 error-broken. Hence I'm trying to fix
those as I've discovered them.

[weewx-user] RSS feed -

2020-09-20 Thread Tom Cichowicz
I'm trying to figure out how/where the RSS Feed link is defined?

It is creating links to pages that don't exist and they have a double slash
withing the URL.

ie.
Monthly Weather Summary as of 09/20/2020 08:10:00 AM
http://www.mpython.com/weather//month.html

can anyone shed some light on this?

   thanks for the info and for pointing me to the relevant information. I
was able to get those links up and running again.

  as far as the N/A values being displayed... I haven't seen them since the
first day, just after upgrading to 1.2 skin. Perhaps I just didn't wait
long enough after restarting weewx.

   Thanks again

 Aeris is a great replacement.

 If you're upgrading, please pay attention to the breaking changes

 Hi Pat,

 I upgraded to version 1.2 and noticed that there is the code to swap
 the moon phases for southern hemisphere, which is great.
 I looked at it and it didn't look correct. I looked at the css code and
 saw that the code to lip the icons was there.

 This is my web site:
 https://weather.ubeaut.work/belchertown/
 and I compared it to yours:
 https://belchertownweather.com/

 Then I figured out why it didn't look correct because I was looking at
 it in *dark theme*. When dark theme is selected the moon phases change
 to incorrect.
 When the theme is light the moon phase is correct.

 Other than that all is OK.

Based on the demise of DarkSky - and notice to switch, I have attempted to

I have changed both of those, yet while working fine... the embeded links

 Any HELP would be appreciated

[weewx-user] Re: Belchertown skin - working great, except Darksky Forecasts

2020-09-10 Thread Tom Cichowicz
Pat;

   I figured it out...

I was able to get into my hosting provider's webserver control panel. (I've
never used it before)

stumbled around for awhile - haven't done any web development in over
20years needless to say things have changed.

I found that there wasn't any MIME type defined for JSON files ... I just
added one to the list (“application/json .json” is the correct JSON content
type entry.)

   That fixed it!  http://www.mpython.com/weather/belchertown/

  Thanks for ALL your help, looking forward to version 1.2 - I'm sure it
will be GREAT!

  and Thanks for all your hard work and sharing AND Helping those that
surely need it.

[weewx-user] Re: Belchertown skin - working great, except Darksky Forecasts

2020-09-09 Thread Tom Cichowicz

It must be locked down at the server level, as I’m not doing nothing
different-

  I assume if I worked with my hosting tech support, they could release the
restrictions on those files?

  I just hate even thinking about those calls... and I’m retired! I’m
leaning toward, either setting up on one of my synology NAS boxes, or
perhaps a docker session on my unraid server.

  Or easier yet keep in internal local.

[weewx-user] Re: Belchertown skin - working great, except Darksky Forecasts

2020-09-09 Thread Tom Cichowicz
Pat;

I can't seem to figure it out, seems like a relative/absolute path
issue? Those kinda problems get my head spinning - like trying to think
about double negatives!

  However, I poked a hole in my router temporarily - allowing my rpi/weewx
exposing my server to the world @ ,
http://idlewood.dyndns.org/weewx/belchertown/

   It runs as it does from a local URL, only the one error in the browser
console  - related to a file that truly doesn't exist -> custom.css

  I may just setup another rpi to act as an external webserver -- But would
prefer to figure out what it's not working from my mpython.com domain ---

2020-09-09 Thread Tom Cichowicz
Pat;

   ok, I'll see if I can figure out why this is happening. I've configured
the weewx FTP settings:
   [[FTP]]
# FTP'ing the results to a webserver is treated as just another
report,
# albeit one with an unusual report generator!
skin = Ftp

# If you wish to use FTP, set "enable" to "true", then
# fill out the next four lines.
# Use quotes around passwords to guard against parsing errors.
enable = true
user = xx
password = xx
server = mpython.com# The ftp server name, e.g, www.myserver.org
path = /KM4VIG/weewx# The destination directory, e.g., /weather

# Set to True for an FTP over TLS (FTPS) connection. Not all servers
# support this.
secure_ftp = False

# To upload files from something other than what HTML_ROOT is set
# to above, specify a different HTML_ROOT here.
#HTML_ROOT = public_html

# Most FTP servers use port 21
port = 21

# Set to 1 to use passive mode, zero for active mode
passive = 1

Howerver ; the files exist where they are suppose to?

 here's a screenshot from my remote connection folders...
[image: weewx_FTP_folder_path.PNG]
they appear to be there and are only 9mins old from this message.. ??
what I'm I doing wrong, or where do I look to find the problem?

OK, thanks ...

 I changed my Secret id and API to my Aeris account values...

I am getting forecast ONLY on my internal local webserver (weewx pi ) that
is running as well.

However public server host by Go Daddy - not displaying forecast, or
graphs. ??

Plus the rounding of ALL values not happening. as well as the undefined
messages along with the value in some locations.

I did go through and delete ALL the index.html files under the
../blechertown folder on my remote webserver - and restarted weewx.

Hasn't yet changed anything.

thanks for the reply ... I'll keep searching. (I've already followed
those posts)
I have a running MQTT broker - that is returning published messages, my
local webserver for weewx that has Belchertown skins enabled displaying the
data.

[weewx-user] MQTT - extension / Belchertown skin / Failed connecting ....

2020-09-07 Thread Tom Cichowicz
Well, I'm plugging away trying different options with my new toy weeWX.

 I've been successful getting much of my orig. WeatherFlow Air/Sky sensor
data up and running within the system.
 I've successfully installed the MQTT extension, to attempt to get
forecast data displayed on the skin pages...
  I have also installed an MQTT , for web socket requirements, and finally
got it publishing records...
Sep 7 12:43:29 weewx weewx[8055] INFO weewx.restx: MQTT: Published record
2020-09-07 12:43:25 EDT (1599497005)
Sep 7 12:43:32 weewx weewx[8055] INFO weewx.restx: MQTT: Published record
2020-09-07 12:43:28 EDT (1599497008)
Sep 7 12:43:34 weewx weewx[8055] INFO weewx.restx: MQTT: Published record
2020-09-07 12:43:31 EDT (1599497011)

Still haven't figured out the message on the index.html page...
*"Failed connecting to the weather station. Please try again later!"*
All my data appears to be up to date.

   anyone that can comment to help would be appreciated...

[weewx-user] getting - weewx nmbd[445]: in syslog - from my UNRAID server

2020-09-06 Thread Tom Cichowicz
Starting to get my new weeWX server/system up and stabilized, and continue
to notice in my syslog the following...

Sep 6 09:17:41 weewx nmbd[445]: This response was from IP 192.168.1.204,
reporting an IP address of 192.168.1.204

I've identified the message having to do with a samba server response? No
problems related to it, more a curiosity than anything else. I have two
UNRAID servers on my network. I also have several other NAS devices that
have samba services enabled. So of course why is ONLY this one UNRAID box
creating the message?

  Any HELP or information would be appreciated.

Re: [weewx-user] New to Group.. Just setup weewx on rpi3B - some issues-questions... (WeatherFlow)

2020-09-05 Thread Tom Cichowicz
I've just captured some of the output from the daemon - it really doesn't
seem to apply to my hardware (weatherflow/tempest).
I don't have indoor sensors, it also shows " supplyVoltage:
11.900930327775894" the weatherflow voltage should be between (3.6-3.0).

[weewx-user] New to Group.. Just setup weewx on rpi3B - some issues-questions... (WeatherFlow)

2020-09-05 Thread Tom Cichowicz
I was able to setup and get working a weewx system on a rpi3B. All seemed
to go pretty well, and as expected based on instructions.

I installed the WeatherFlow UDP driver, seems to be working ?

My first issue is that the webserver html pages generated seem to have all
my TEMP sensors wrong. However the data that shows to be updating my
Wunderground PWS appears OK?

My Next issue is I want to publish pages - to a remote server, via FTP. I'm
assuming I need to install an FTP client on my rpi3B? I've seen a few sties
showing how to do that. can I choose any package? or are there known
good/best solutions for that?

  Thanks for anyone's HELP so far I like the system... I'm sure my
issues will be resolved with a missing configuration setting.
