Re: [wsjt-devel] WSJT-X 2.5.4 GA Release
Thanks Joe -- we appreciate the update. Downloaded the source tarball from your Princeton site, compiled without issue on Debian 11. Previously I was running 2.5.3 with a Kenwood TS-590S and it did crash a few times. No such problems seen yet with 2.5.4. 73, KD0KZE / Paul On 1/3/22 10:54, Joe Taylor via wsjt-devel wrote: Please welcome two new members of the core WSJT Development group: Chet Fennell, KG4IYS, and Uwe Risse, DG2YCB. Re: [wsjt-devel] Q65 decoder only decodes only one of multiple signals in passband
Hi Peter The example file 00_0003.wav in the link I sent is a simulated file, with DT set to 2.5s as for an EME signal. Try it with Ftol=100Hz and it should decode both signals OK. For me, on one quick test, with Ftol=1000 encompassing both signals only one decoded. 73 Charlie On Tue, 4 Jan 2022 at 20:53, Peter Sumner via wsjt-devel < wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> wrote: > Hi Charlie, > may I ask were the Q65-60D recordings were EME or terrestrial ? Re: [wsjt-devel] Q65 decoder only decodes only one of multiple signals in passband
Joe, FYI, this isn't an isolated incident. Several hams, from NA, SA, VK and ZL, working to exploit the December-January openings between the Americas and VK/ZL have tried moving from FT8 to Q65-30A, only to have the same non-decode problem appear. (I am one of them. For the record, watching terrestrial 6m signals from VK on a waterfall that do not decode -- some at audible levels -- is quite frustrating.) Q65 is getting a poor reputation with this group of experienced VHF DXers. If you find a solution for Peter, please disseminate it to this list. Re: [wsjt-devel] Q65 decoder only decodes only one of multiple signals in passband
Hi Charlie, may I ask were the Q65-60D recordings were EME or terrestrial ? I have found that with Q65 it is quite dependent on the 'decode after eme delay' setting as to whether the signal decodes or not. After more testing last night, I found the samples from Lance W7GJ that decoded in Q65-60A but required me to have 'decode after eme delay' ticked which had me foxed for a few minutes. So far I have had no luck with any of the Q65-30A samples decoding, on air observations are the decoder works for one signal only. Checked again to be sure and the 'single decode' option is not enabled. If I go back and click on each signal I get a decode. It is behaving like the decoder is in DEEP mode even though FAST is selected. Re: [wsjt-devel] Q65 decoder only decodes only one of multiple signals in passband
Peter, I have seen this happen if Ftol is not opened so that the green line on the waterfall is not over the received signal. Generally, I leave Ftol open to 1000hz when running Q65, primarily on six meters, unless I am in a difficult qso and want to reduce it to center on a particular signal. If I happen to see another signal appear on the waterfall, and the green line is not above it, double clicking on the signal will move the green line and decode the signal, at least in my case anyway. Hope this helps in some way. 73,Andy, ka2uqw On Tuesday, January 4, 2022, 11:19:05 AM EST, Joe Taylor via wsjt-devel wrote: Hi Peter, I tries WSJT-X 2.5.4 on the Q65 sample Q65 files. Re: [wsjt-devel] Generating an audio file of WSPR or JT-65
Hi Peter, Hardly surprisingly, we have written simulators for all modes developed for WSJT and WSJT-X. The simulators are used extensively during development, but much less thereafter. Recently we have included only a few of them (e.g., fst4sim, mapsim, q65sim) in the packaged distributions of WSJT-X. Source code for all of them is present in the SourceForge repository and the packaged source tarball, so you could compile your own. If you would like a prebuilt copy of wsprsim[.exe] or jt65sim[.exe], please let me know off list. -- 73, Joe, K1JT On 1/4/2022 7:40 AM, Peter Berrett via wsjt-devel wrote: Dear Developers Can someone please help me with a question about making an audio file of a WSPR or JT65 transmission?
