far.

afraid the info i have is limited. the duo behind hot lizard were
responsible for the british label pacific, which is now, unfortunately,
defunct. artists such as ian o'brien, sunrise society, charles webster and
sterac recorded for the label. melodic, deep techno was their bag, but i
suppose
whoops! should check me facts. but i do know the theme was re-released on
that new label product deluxe with new remixes (i think, but wouldn't bet my
life on it) - and without the c craig remix. doubt we'll see the likes of
claude young or sterac doin' remixes for this new label, if the theme
i take it this was on cd?

seriously - in hmv a couple of years ago, rob hood's 'internal empire'..
i'd already got it obviously -
he did a remix of that insipid british group the lighthouse family back in
mid-90s that was supposed to be the dog's proverbials.
btw, blackwater remix ain't bad, even if it is formulaic e-dancer fodder.

exceptional stuff (besides some dodgy lyrics - especially on title track -

i have a mix-cd by darren emerson from 1994 called psychotrance 2, the
sleeve notes describe the music as trance, but, ironically enough, all
tracks are by the likes of stefan robbers, sterac, josh wink (liquid
summer), the advent, acid jesus. it's techno, pure and simple, but back then
is mr hood rated as a dj? does he play minimal techno similar to what he
produces?

check out mark 'vistor' broom's 12 on D1 records - a true classic. also,
the pt 1 remixes (by, amongst others, octave one) are now available from the
same label.
otherwise check out label pure plastic for mark broom's and rue east's (mark
broom and dave hill) stuff.
baby ford's output
he has a great 12 on metroplex under a different moinker (m4, i think).
celestial highways was the name of the 12 (i think). well, it's definitely
the name of the main track which is a lot similar in style to vince watson's
early output on rotation.

i read an interview with
from my own point of view, i just seem to be buying old(er) techno records,
circa '90 to '97. there seems to be so many classic tunes from this period
(most of which i failed to buy when they first came out - poor student
days), but nowadays the releases that must be bought, for me, are few and
listened to dreamsequence in my local record store and, have to say, was
less than enthusiastic. would definitely not recommmend it - one of the
worst albums i've heard on tresor.
however, i can rave about archive's new (i think) off-shoot label neroli and
its 1st release - there's one track
st germain is the brainchild of ludovic navarre, mate of laurent garnier,
and responsible for such classics as modus vivendi 'modus vivendi' and
choice 'acid eiffel' (along with garnier, i think). the first st germain
album on f comm is a classic, imo.

I wonder how many people on this list would do thew same if they were in
his
shoes?
How many people on this list are reading from corporate
the mistakes on juan atkins mix cd at least prove that he actually mixed it
live. i saw a disturbing item on bbc television the other week. it was a
business programme which had a feature on british clubland and how clubs
were now such a marketable brand. they focussed on thhe club renaissance
i'm going to look like a right ignorant sod here, but feck it. i have a
problem (luckily, not a sexual one), i have great difficulty mixing (no
laughing, please) with tunes that have beatless intros, ie no kick drum,
high-hats, hand-claps or discernible beat, an examlpe would be modus vivendi
sorry, should have said for people to e-mail me privately to avoid clutter

the simple answer is that moby is outside this sphere - he seems to have
more in common with britney spears. his music has been watered down by its
overuse in what seems like every bloody car ad on tv. his music has instant
appeal across the board, ie for the masses, as it's, imo, inoffensive
