I wanted to say how much I appreciate the suggestions and discussions on
this thread. After looking things over I've decided to go with SplashTop
for a year. I like the look and feel, works on my Mac and will for less
than LogMeIn let's me have access to all my company computers.

crashed or is down or unreachable for some reason. Isn’t that a
RD even though they don't understand how it works.

We have a number of 4D Servers which we run under a dedicated Windows Account.
We use the same Windows Account to run all Production Servers on all machines.
If someone needs to monitor the server they can do that via RDC using that
Windows Account. That avoids any session confusion. However,

But if you share your account, only 1 user can use it at a time. LogMeIn
allowed me to share subsets of computer access without paying more.

We switched from LogmeIn to Splashtop years ago. We use it from Mac to Windows
all the time and it works great. Can move files to/from as well. No

Thanks Alan and Miyako. Interesting approaches and tools I hadn't
considered. To be honest probably not a direction I'm going as my skills in
those areas are adequate at best and I'm afraid of horking something up by
mistake and then having to go down to the datacenter to fix it.

My support team manage over 30 hosted Windows servers mostly at our data centre
but some at client sites. For server remote control we almost exclusively use
RAdmin. Unfortunately there is no Mac
We use RealVNC on all servers but use TeamViewer for client machines. We used
to use LogMeIn for client machines but our support guys prefer Teamviewer and I
didn't ask why.

Looking at the responses you’re getting makes me wonder about the use case.
I liked Join.Me for remote support. It was easy to get remote users online
pretty easily (assuming they had permission to install software). That scenario
was “Ben is having problems and I need to login to his computer
I’ll bet there is a reason not to, but from a Mac to a Mac I use good old Apple
Screen Sharing (VNC). To a Windows server I use Microsoft Remote Desktop for
Mac. Both are free and work really well. Have not found any limitation with
either. Nothing required on the server end.

commercial environment but then guilt got the better of me!
