Re: Athens Geotargets

2018-03-14 Thread 'Peter Oliquino' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Nikos,

Thank you for sending the names of the missing areas. I looked them up
using the AdWords UI search location feature and I can confirm that they
are also non-existent in the targetable locations by AdWords. I would not
be able to log this as a feature request for the AdWords API since the said
locations are also not available from the AdWords UI and the API only
mirrors what is available from the UI. I would recommend that you get in
touch with the product experts in the AdWords Community Forum

should
you wish to discuss this matter further in the UI side.

As for using postal codes for targeting, you will first need to filter the
geo targeting spreadsheet using the Target Type = Postal Code filter then
identify its Criteria ID. Once you have identified the ID, you can then use
that criteria ID for targeting using the AdWords API.

Best regards,
Peter

Hi Santiago,

Your SOAP request and response appears to be fine and the warning issue
regarding UTF-8 seems to be more related to the configuration of your
client library. I would suggest to post your issue here
 as the client
library owners are better equipped to assist you in this matter.

Re: Campaign Report Returns Modified Campaign Name

2018-03-14 Thread 'Vincent Racaza (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

I believe that the original campaign names will be returned in any report
types that contains the CampaignName

 field.
It won't be modified as the data will just be based from the original
campaign names from your account. If the campaign name was indeed modified
on your end, then it seems that you may have a post-processing in your
report that makes the campaign names being modified.

However, so I can further investigate this, can you provide to me your
clientCustomerId as well as your complete report definition

via *Reply privately to author* option?

Thanks,

Re: FeedItemAdGroupTarget for Multiple AdGroups

2018-03-14 Thread 'Vincent Racaza (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Jon,

I was able to replicate the TARGET_LIMIT_EXCEEDED_FOR_GIVEN_TYPE

 error
in my test account when I tried to add a new FeedItemAdGroupTarget

 to
an existing feed item to multiple ad groups. I can confirm that this is not
possible via the AdWords UI and API. If you'll check your specific feed
item in the AdWords UI, you also cannot add multiple target entities (e.g.
ad groups) per feed item. You can only select one target entity per feed
item.

Let me know if you have further clarifications.

Thanks,
Vincent

Hi Lasse,

You could apply for Standard access

 to
have unlimited operations and unlimited report requests per day. However,
take note that regardless of access level, all API operations are subject
to system rate limits
.

For your 1 million keywords, you can make 200 request that contains 5000
keyword operation each.

Re: setting up oauth2 client

2018-03-14 Thread Ryan
Solution: I needed to move my adwords_api.yml file to my home directory. I
had provided a local path to AdwordsApi::Api.new, and the file was reading
correctly, so it seems kinda odd that writing to a different place would
result in failure, but that appears to be what happened.

Is there a report settings override to ensure only the original campaign

FeedItemAdGroupTarget for Multiple AdGroups

2018-03-14 Thread Jon Skeen
Hello,

I'm wondering if FeedItemAdGroupTarget can be used to target multiple ad
groups per feed item. I.e., I have a feed item that I want multiple ad
groups to use. The documentation seems to imply this is possible:

> Starting in v201802, you can use FeedItemTargetService to restrict
> individual feed items to only target specific campaigns, ad groups, or
> criteria.

However when actually attempting to set this up I get
a FeedItemTargetError.TARGET_LIMIT_EXCEEDED_FOR_GIVEN_TYPE error. So I'm
assuming this is not possible, but I cannot find a definitive answer in the
documentation and any additional clarity would be most helpful.

Thanks in advance,
- Jon

Just as a sanity check for future readers: I was definitely not operating

account (no red banner, clear "Manager" subheading under the account name),
but the Adwords API Center did not appear until I selected "Return to

setting up oauth2 client

2018-03-14 Thread Ryan
I'm following the instructions for setting up the adwords_api.yml
configuration file. I've added the client id and secret to it. I run
setup_oauth2.rb, get the access code, so far so good. I enter the access
code, the utility asks me if I want to save the token to the config file,
and I say yes. But when I look in the file that's generated, all it has is
an empty object {}.

Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks!

.Net API getting NOT_ADS_USER after upgrade to v201802

2018-03-14 Thread steve . john
Hi,

I've been successfully accessing AdWords via a service account using the
.net NuGet package Google.AdWords v22.3.1.

I have started a new project in .net core using the latest version 23.1.0
and using the exact same credentials I get the NOT_ADS_USER error.

Just to check that I hadn't missed something when putting together the new
project, I upgraded the old project. After the upgrade, that project
started getting the NOT_ADS_USER problem.

Any ideas as to how to solve this would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Steve.

Hi Sriram,

Thanks for sharing the log details. I was able to re-create the issue. Let
me get in touch with the team regarding this. I will get back to you with
an update when I heard back from them. In the meanwhile, you could use the
CampaignCriterionService.get()

with campaign id and the criterionId as a filter and confirm that the
removed criterion is not being returned via the API. It should only return
all the active user list associated with that campaign. Please check the
sample code in java here
,

which might be helpful for you. Samples in other languages can also be found
 here .
Also, in AdWords UI, you could check the active user list under the
* Audience* tab for campaign.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API.

Re: Getting the Change History via the API

2018-03-14 Thread 'Sreelakshmi Sasidharan (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Narendra,

The CustomerSyncService

 is
still the closest service to the change history in the AdWords UI. You will
be able to get the last modified time using the lastChangeTimestamp

 attribute.
The service also says at a high level what type of change was made. You can
check the GetAccountChanges

 sample
in Java to understand the behavior of this service. Samples in other
languages can also be found here
. If you
have any new questions about the API, please feel free to create a new
thread and post your questions there.

Re: Programmatically accessing the custom reports built using the Adwords Report Editor?

The AdWords API supports the reports which are listed here

The guide on

Re: CONTEXT.DEVICE Options

Hi Anil,

The EQUALS(CONTEXT.DEVICE, "") function type will limit display of
specific ad extensions (placeholder types) to mobile or desktop users. If
you do not want this limitation to apply, you can simply remove that
function from your code and go with only the FEED_ITEM_ID function. Please
refer this section

Hi,

For test manager account, credit card details are not required. You could
follow the steps to create and use a test account in this guide
.

To create a new production Manger (MCC) account, please follow the
instructions listed here .
You will need to use a new email Id that is currently not linked with any
AdWords account for this. If this is not the case, could you please
elaborate?

Thanks,

How to aggregate SearchExactMatchImpressionShare Metric of two Ad Groups?

2018-03-14 Thread Muhammad Javed

I have two AdGroups in a Campaign. Sample data given below:

 Ad Group ImpressionsSearchExactMatchImpressionShare
(EMIS)

Ad Group 1 149031.78%

Ad Group 2 16 50.00%

   -

Total: Ad Groups 1506 33.33%

I am curious to know how actually Google AdWords aggregates
SearchExactMatchImpressionShare metric (EMIS) for two different Ad Groups
in one campaign.

I went through the Google definitions for "SearchExactMatchImpressionShare
", but could not produce expected result (EMIS = 33.33%).

I came up with the following formula after reading definition of
SearchExactMatchImpressionShare on google AdWords forums

EMIS = (EMIS-R/EMIS-A)*100

R = Received (Impressions from Search Query Performance Report for those
search queries which match type is exactly "Exact" or "Exact Close
Variant").

A = Available (=(1490/31.78%))

The numbers that we receive by calculation does not match with the numbers
being shown in AdWords UI(33.33%)

I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong in calculations. I would really
appreciate a quick help on this.

Re: Creating SharedSet on Campaign Level

2018-03-14 Thread 'Sreelakshmi Sasidharan (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Jonathan,

The shared sets

 are
typically recommended if you have a set of keywords/placements that gives
you unwanted impressions or clicks across multiple campaigns. In this case
you would create a shared set with these keywords and apply them across
multiple campaigns. Since you are not reusing the same set of keywords
across multiple campaigns, you could just add them as a
NegativeCampaignCriterion

 on
the campaign directly using the CampaignCriterionService
.

Please check this example

 for
code sample.

As you observed, there is an account limit
 of 20 shared
negative keyword lists per account and there is no alternative to adding
the shared set to the Account. Please let me know if you have additional
questions.

Thanks,
Sreelakshmi, AdWords API Team

Re: Upgrading your client library to v22.0.0,.AdSoap Client Error.

2018-03-14 Thread 'Sreelakshmi Sasidharan (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Saritha,

A given library version might not support all versions of the API. If you
are using the latest version of the .NET client library, which is Ads API
.NET Client Library - v23.1.0
,

you should be able to make API calls against the V201710 and V201802
version of the AdWords API. If you are using the correct version of the
client library, could you please share the complete error logs so that we
can troubleshoot the issue? You could share the logs using reply privately
to author option.

Hi,

The Gradle Maven Plugin
 will generate
a pom.xml for your project based on your Gradle configuration. Could you
give that a try?

Another option is to use a Gradle plugin for Eclipse, such as Eclipse
Buildship .

 Hi Richard,

The RMI package is needed because the objects generated for the Axis
SOAP toolkit are all based on that package. For example, *ApiException*
in the library ultimately extends *java.rmi.RemoteException* via the
inheritance hierarchy of *ApiException -> ApplicationException ->
 AxisFault -> RemoteException*.

One thing you could try would be to use the JAX-WS (AppEngine) modules
instead of the Axis modules. Those would be:

   com.google.api-ads
   ads-lib
   *RELEASE*

   com.google.api-ads
   adwords-appengine
   *RELEASE*

I suspect you'll run into similar RMI dependencies there, but it's
 worth a shot. :)

 Cheers,
 Josh, AdWords API Team

2018-03-14 Thread 'Josh Radcliff (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

You'll only see the AdWords API Center if your manager account is *not* a
test manager account. Unfortunately, the only way to determine if the
account is a test manager account is:

   1. Click on the wrench in the upper right corner
   2. Click on *Return to previous AdWords* in the upper right corner of
   the menu that pops up
   3. Look for a red banner with *This is a test account!*

If you're still having trouble, please send your customer ID (xxx-xxx-)
to me by clicking *Reply privately to author* and I'll take a look.

Thanks,

Re: Athens Geotargets

2018-03-14 Thread Nikos Papandreou
Hello Peter,

I used the geo targeting spreadsheet but didn't find the areas I was
missing, so I posted here my question.

Some of the missing areas are:

   - elliniko
   - argyroupoli
   - glyfada
   - vari
   - voula
   - vouliagmeni
   - ilion
   - petroupoli

and the list can keep going. The adwords is missing more than half of
Athens municipalities, that are available to Google Maps.

Furthermore, I can't seem to be able to enter a post code such as 16674 to
define a geolocation.

Hi,

My apologies if I misunderstood. As for retrieving the information you
highlighted from the screenshot, I'm afraid that those are currently not
available via the AdWords API. You may keep an eye on our blog
 for any
updates if and when the said information can be available via the AdWords
API.

Best regards,

Creating SharedSet on Campaign Level

2018-03-14 Thread jonathan . scholbach
With the AdWords API, using Python, in an Account A, I want to create one
SharedSet S_i per Campaign C_i (I want to build a de facto 1-1-relation),
where i is element of I :=  {0,1,2,..., |Campaigns(A)| }

I was doing this by adding the SharedSets S_i to A and and attaching it to
"its" Campaign C_i. (I was basically following
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/samples/python/advanced-operations#create-and-attach-a-shared-keyword-set)

But since I have more than 20 Campaigns in A, I am reaching the Account
Limit, getting the following when I attempt to add the S_21:

suds.WebFault: Server raised fault:
'[EntityCountLimitExceeded.ACCOUNT_LIMIT @ operations[0].operand;
trigger:'... sharedSetType: NEGATIVE_PLACEMENTS' (enclosingId=...,
limit=20, accountLimitType=SHARED_SETS_PER_ACCOUNT, existingCount=20)]'

So, I want to add the SharedSet S_i "directly" to the C_i, i.e. without
adding it to A. I did not find documentation how I can do this with the
AdWords API. Is it possible? How?

Re: Updating many (>million) keywords max CPCbids

Hi Luis,

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind.

One more question:

We currently have *basic *access level, and I'm considering whether we have
to apply for standard access. What confuses me a bit is the counting of
operations.

If I would make a batch job with mutates the bids of 1 million keywords, in
requests of 5000 keywords each. Will this count as 1 million operations or
200 operations?

Thanks in advance,

CONTEXT.DEVICE Options

2018-03-14 Thread anil
Hello,

To assign Callout Feed Items to campaign we have used
MatchingFunctionString like
'AND( IN(FEED_ITEM_ID, {%s}), EQUALS(CONTEXT.DEVICE, "Mobile"))',

It seems we can pass either "Mobile" or "Desktop" in CONTEXT.DEVICE. What
value need to use to set for "All Devices"?
Simply removing CONTEXT.DEVICE from above throws error so that could not be
the way.

I'm also not seeing the link to the Adwords API Center in what I'm pretty

Programmatically accessing the custom reports built using the Adwords Report Editor?

2018-03-14 Thread cconnect

Hi,

Is there a way to programmatically access data that are generated by the
custom reports defined in AdWords Report Editor?
The main reason I am seeking because I want to load that report's data
into Bi tool using API. Is anybody aware of either getting hold of the
Report Editor data?

Regards,
Dixit Panchal.

Re: Based on Customer ID, can we know which account it belongs to?

2018-03-14 Thread 'Vincent Racaza (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Could you confirm if what you are looking for is the manager account given
the customer ID of your client account? If so, then by logging in the old
AdWords UI in your client account, you can go to *Account Settings >
Account Access*. In this page, you can see the "*Client managers"* section
which is the manager/s of the specific client account.

Using the new AdWords UI, you can click the *Tools button > Account Access
> Managers*. You can see on the page the list of manager/s for this client
account.

For the AdWords API, you cannot determine the manager account given the
client account. It would be the other way around. Given the MCC Id, you can
run the Get Account Hierarchy

 example
(in Java, available to other languages that AdWords API supports) to get
all the child sub MCCs and client accounts under that parent MCC. As
additional information also, you can run the CustomerService.getCustomers()

 without
specifying the clientCustomerId in the request header to get all the client
accounts which is directly accessible by the authenticated user.

Let me know if you have further clarifications.

Thanks,
Vincent

Hi Nikos,

Location criteria of *TargetType = Postal Code* are available in the geo
targeting spreadsheet

 of
the AdWords API. As for the missing locations that you mentioned, could you
provide more information as to which of the locations are not included in
the said spreadsheet?
