Re: Adwords report output to html

Hi Roy,

I am afraid that AdWords API doesn't support html format for report. You
could refer this guide to check supported format in AdWords reports here
.

You will need to create the html file at your end and include the data from
the API in that. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,

Re: Account creation and billing informaiton

2018-04-18 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Robin,

Please find my response below:

1. To get all request and response logs you could add DEBUG instead of
INFO. Could you please update logger info in your log4j.properties and
retry the activity and share the result. Also please share the campaign
which you were facing an issue along with client customer id so that I can
troubleshoot the issue. Please find example to update value in
log4.properties file below:

log4j.category.com.google.api.ads.adwords.lib.client.AdWordsServiceClient.soapXmlLogger=DEBUG,

CONSOLE
log4j.appender.CONSOLE.Threshold=DEBUG

Please refer java logging guide
 for more
information.

2. Looks like length for description2 is more than 38 character in your
request. Could you please validate the length of the line before making the
request and retry the activity? The AdError.LINE_TOO_WIDE occurs when one
of the lines in an ad was longer than the maximum allowed length. If you
are still facing the same issue, could you please open another forum thread
(as this error is not related to campaign remove) and share the complete
SOAP request there?

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: keyword text keyword match type keyword id

2018-04-16 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Amit,

Let me clarify this for you. You can consider the shared set as a list of
keywords. Instead of adding the individual keywords as criterion, you can
just attach the list as the criterion to campaign or ad group. The ids of
criterion alone are not globally unique, but the combination of the shared
set id and the keyword id will be globally unique. This means that the
keyword exist in the shared set and the concept of adding the same keyword
with same id to a different set is ideally creating a new keyword in the
second set. You might have seen that the adding keyword with same text is
creating a keyword with same Id. This does not mean that the keywords are
same. Also, there is no guarantee that the keywords will always have the
same id. You can observe the same behavior while adding a keyword in the ad
group too. To summarize, If you need the keyword with same text in a
different shared set, you have to create it again in the second set and use
the *ADD* operator. The new keyword will need to be referenced with the
*combination
of the criterion id and the shared set id *to uniquely identify it.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: keyword text keyword match type keyword id

2018-04-13 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Amit,

Each Shared set owns the keywords in that list. If you want to add a
keyword with the same text and match type as in a different shared set, you
will need to add the keyword again to the second shared set. Since the text
is same, you might get the keyword criterion Id same as in the shared set
one. But this does not mean that the keywords are same. The criterion id is
not globally unique. The combination of shared set id and the criterion Id
is globally unique. For more information please refer this guide
. To
summarize, you will have to add the keyword with the same text and match
type to the second shared set. Please note that you might or might not get
the same criterion Id while doing this. Let me know if you have further
questions.

Thanks,

Hi Amit,

Could you please clarify what you mean by "I want to add an existing
Keyword criteria to an existing Shared Set "? Are you looking to modify the
text of an existing keyword in an existing shared set? If you've created
the shared set, you can use the SharedCriterionService.mutate()

 to
add keywords to the existing set. To modify the keywords, you will need to
use the SET operator. If you are using the ADD operator, the required
attributes will have to be passed and that will add a new keyword to the
shared set. Please refer this guide

 for
more details.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: Invite adWord client to MCC account using APIs

2018-04-12 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Kartikeya,

For $session, you could use code as below:

AdWordsSession $session,
$session = (new
AdWordsSessionBuilder())->fromFile()->withOAuth2Credential($oAuth2Credential)->build();

You could refer to CreateAccount.php sample code here
.

In this example you could remove the code from line number 49 to 73 and add
the code snippet shared previously to send the invitation. To authenticate
your MCC account, you need to create OAuth credentials for the login email
id of your MCC account. Please refer this guide

 to
create OAuth credentials. Let me know if you are facing an issue.

Thanks,

Re: Invite adWord client to MCC account using APIs

2018-04-11 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Kartikeya,

A manager account can invite a client account or another manager account to
be managed via AdWords API. You can use managedCustomerService.mutateLink()

 API
call to send an invitation. Please refer below code sample to send an
invitation.

$managedCustomerService = $adWordsServices->get($session,
ManagedCustomerService::class);
$operations = [ ];
$linkOp = new LinkOperation();
$link = new ManagedCustomerLink();
$link->setManagerCustomerId(MANAGER_CID);
$link->setClientCustomerId(CLIENT_CID);
$link->setLinkStatus("PENDING");
$linkOp->setOperand($link);
$linkOp->setOperator(Operator::ADD);
$operations[] = $linkOp;

$result = $managedCustomerService->mutateLink($operations);

For more information please refer this guide
.

If you are facing an issue to send invitation via API, please enable logging
 and share the SOAP
request and response logs so I can take a look. Please use *Reply privately
to author* when responding.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: Account creation and billing informaiton

2018-04-10 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Robin,

Please find my *inline* response below:

1. I just want to clarify one point that is not exactly answered; a little
extension on question 4. An AdWords API created client account will not be
able to serve ads unless:

   1. The AdWordsSession used to create the client account is using a
client customer id of a manager account
   2. The manager account used in the AdWordsSession has consolidated
   billing set up

If any of these conditions are not met, the created client account will
just be a AdWords account that cannot serve any ads until someone goes to
the AdWords dashboard console to access the new created account to set up
billing.
*Yes*.

2.Another question I would like to ask is what happens if the client
customer id of the AdWordsSession is of a client account? Will the account
still be created?
*No, you need to set client customer id of manager account. Otherwise you
will get M**anagedCustomerServiceError.NOT_AUTHORIZED error.*

3.If so, I would like to confirm that the answer to my question 4,1 - " If
so and assuming the answer I got from the help center is entirely correct,
then can I conclude that it is not possible to create an AdWords client
account via API that can actually run campaigns? " is yes as the only
suggested add billing information method in the guide is to use the AdWords
UI; i.e. it is not possible to create an AdWords client account that can
serve ads via API unless the manager account used to create this new client
account (via API) has consolidation billing setup.
*Yes. You can create client account by setting CID of manger account in
AdWordsSession. You can set up billing via AdWords dashboard console, then
your ads will serve the live data. Other option would be, after creating
the client account via API, **you can do a BudgetOrderService.mutate() via
API and add budget orders to new client accounts (which did not have any
billing setup since its creation) via API, If the MCC is on consolidated
billing.*

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: Account creation and billing informaiton

2018-04-09 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Please check my *inline* response below:

   1. I would like to confirm that the client account creation method will
result in client account "B" to be a under manager account "A".
   *Yes*
   2. Will campaign "C" run as normal and accumulates the cost of the
campaign everyday until it hits the daily budget?
*Please note that you can create the campaign without setting the
billing information in account. The status of campaign will set as by
   default 'Eligible
   '. If you want to
create campaign via API you can change the status of campaign. To activate
your account and start running your ads, you need to set your billing
   information*
  1. If the campaign actually runs, what will happen to the bill when
it hits the monthly billing cycle or the billing threshold as it does not
  have billing information attached?
   3. Does this mean for any money used within client account "C" will be
billed towards manager account "A"? And who will be billed if manager
account "A" does not have a consolidated billing setup?
*Even if Manager account is on consolidated billing, you will have to
set the budget order for the client account for it to start serving Ads. *
   4. Is the only way to set up billing in a client AdWords account via
   Google AdWords dashboard console?
*If the MCC is on consolidated billing, you can do a
BudgetOrderService.mutate() via API and add budget orders to new client
accounts (which did not have any billing setup since its creation) via
   API. *
  1. If so and assuming the answer I got from the help center is
entirely correct, then can I conclude that it is not possible to create
an
AdWords client account via API that can actually run campaigns?
*Please check the answer to the main question. *
   5. If the answer provided by the AdWords help center applies, does the
campaign's status change to "Paused"? Or will it remain as "Enabled" but
the ads in the campaign will just not show as it does not have any billing
   information?
*The campaign status will not change based on the billing setup.
However, even "Eligible" campaigns will not serve if you have not set up
the billing for that client account. *

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: AuthorizationError.SERVICE_ACCESS_DENIED

2018-04-04 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Deap,

As you found out, the SERVICE_ACCESS_DENIED error means that user
authorizing the API call doesn't have access to the specific service. You
could request the Admin user on the account to grant you necessary access
level. Please check this guide
 to red more about
access levels in AdWords. If this does not help you, could you please share
the SOAP request and response, the client customer Id and the email Id of
user authenticating the call? You could choose to *reply privately* while
sharing the information.

Thanks,
Milind AdWords API Team.

Re: Rate Limit Error: Rate Scope:Account - Is the rate limit at dev token or the account?

2018-03-30 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

The TargetingIdeaService

 is
a more expensive API service call while compared to the other services of
the AdWords API. The rate limits for TargetingIdeaService are significantly
more strict than for other API services. If you have multiple accounts
against which you are making the API calls, you could consider Interleaving
requests to different accounts as discussed here
.

There are other best practices

 too
in-order to control the rate limits errors. Also, please note that a new
AdWords account may have a significantly more restrictive rate limit

 (i.e.,
lower QPS) than established accounts. Unfortunately, the only workaround to
handle the rate limit errors at ACCOUNT scope is to wait and retry the
request at a later point of time.

Regarding the "socket hang up" error, could you share the complete error
logs so that I can take a closer look? You can use *reply privately to
author *or redact any sensitive information while sharing the logs.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: Rate Limit Error: Rate Scope:Account - Is the rate limit at dev token or the account?

2018-03-29 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

Looks like rate scope is Account level. The rate limits with ACCOUNT scope
occurs usually when there are too many requests per second on a single
AdWords account in a short duration of time. You may need to slow down and
make fewer requests against your account. The rate limit across Account
rate scope is metered on all requests to a single AdWords account
irrespective of developer token used. You will need to wait for the
specified time in the "retryAfterSeconds" parameter and retry your request.
You can refer to this guide

 to
control the rate limit errors in your application.
Please note there is no guarantee that after waiting for retryAfterSeconds
your new request will succeed. You could apply a random multiplier (e.g., a
float value between 1 and 2 inclusively) to retryAfterSeconds when
determining seconds to wait. Please refer this guide
.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Hi,

However, In AdWords API, the error CUSTOMER_SERVING_TYPE_REPORT_MISMATCH

 occurs
while trying to run the report against a manager account. Reports can be
obtained only at the non-manager account level. In your case, you are using
manager account id 307-087-9687. You may try to run the report in with non
manager account using R. I hope this will help you.

You are only allowed to set the value of parallelTrackingEnabled

attribute in test accounts and not in production accounts. To clarify, are
you saying if you are passing null to parallelTrackingEnabled

attribute in your code, the C# library is treating it as false? If so,
could you share your code snippet and the SOAP request and response logs?

If you are performing a get operation followed by a mutate operation, you
could create a new instance of the customer object with the required
attributes only.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Thanks for sharing the CIDs. I ran the ACCOUNT_PERFORMANCE_REPORT with same
report definition as mentioned in your previous comment for given CID
(6744517211,5312855274,4487958769,3149087061) and I am able to download the

Re: How to query the history change record of the advertising campaigns with API?

2018-03-27 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

In AdWords API, you could use CustomerSyncService.get()

service, but this will not get all the changed history, this is the closest
service available in AdWords API. Please check this

sample example in java. Samples in other languages can also be found here
.
CustomerSyncService

only supports queries for dates within the last 90 days. In AdWords UI, you
could lists the changes during the past two years and it will give you
specific details to what changed. Let me know if you have further
questions.

Thanks,

Hi Robin,

Please find my response below:

   1. In AdWords API, to create the non manager account via API, please
   refer this sample java code

.

Sample in other language can be found here
   . Could
you please confirm you are looking for to upload billing information using
AdWords API? If yes, I'm afraid this is currently not supported in the
AdWords API. In AdWords UI, you could add billing information by following
   the steps in this guide

   .
   2. To create new campaign, add client customer id of newly created
   account(non-test, non-MCC) in configuration

 file
and make AddCampaigns API call. Please refer the sample java code here

   .

Let me know if you have further questions.

Re: AdWords API Fatal Error (AdWords Editor)

2018-03-23 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

The ACTIVE_ADGROUP_FEEDS_PER_ACCOUNT limit applies to non-removed
AdGroupFeed

 objects
in an account. If a set of FeedItems are added as extensions to N AdGroups,
it counts as N ad group-level extensions. To free up the space, you need to
REMOVE the AdGroupFeeds

 for
your REMOVED adGroups using AdGroupFeedService
,

then retry your request. Please check the system limits in AdWords here
. The error is due
to your API operation exceeding the said limit of 250,000 ad group-level
extensions per account. Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,

Re: 201802 API : parallelTrackingEnabled is set to false in non testing Customers pulled by get, hits OperationAccessDenied error on mutate.

2018-03-22 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Matthew,

As you are already doing, you will need to make sure that the
parallelTrackingEnabled

 is
set to null in the customer object to set the auto-tagging flag via
CustomerService.mutate()

 API
call. The documentation means that you are only allowed to set the value of
parallelTrackingEnabled

 attribute
in test accounts and not in production accounts. As you have observed, you
will see this attribute being returned for both test and non test accounts.
Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: How to associate feed list with new campaign

2018-03-22 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Anshul,

Could you please confirm you have linked your Merchant center to the
AdWords Account? If not, please follow the steps in this guide
.

After linking, you can create shopping campaign via AdWords API. Please
refer the sample code in java here
.

In the code, you will need to specify the merchant center Id which is
linked with the AdWords account. Samples in other language can be found here
. To create
Shopping campaign via AdWords UI, please follow the steps in this guide
.

All the approved products should be available for you in the AdWords to use
with your shopping campaign. You may have to create the product partition
tree with the appropriate product dimensions. You could also refer to the
AddProductPartitionTree

 in
Java for the complete code sample. The guide on shopping campaigns

should
be helpful for you.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: I have a devloper token do I need to get a refresh token from a specific user

2018-03-21 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi John,

You could use the client Id and client secret of any login. The access to
accounts would depend on who authorizes the API call. While generating the
refresh token, if the manager authorizes the call (generated authorization
code by logging in as the manager and accepting the manual prompt), you
will be able to use that set of OAuth credentials to make API calls against
the MCC account and all client accounts in that hierarchy. On the other
hand, if you only need access to a specific account via API, you can login
as that user while generating the authorization code and use the refresh
token generated in that flow instead. Please check here

 for
more clarity. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Based on against which account you like to make the API call, you will need
to change the client customer Id in your request header.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: Accessing inactive AdWords Accounts

2018-03-20 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Stefano,

Please see my answers *inline* below.

1. I don't see any field indicating the account status here
https://developers.google.com/adwords/api/docs/appendix/selectorfields#v201802-ManagedCustomerService

Will this service keep returning inactive accounts?
If yes, does this mean that the only way to find whether an account is
inactive is by trying to access it (and fail)?
Would be nice to know in advance whether a given account is inactive or
having the possibility of excluding in a predicate.
*Get requests for ManagedCustomerService

 will
no longer return the cancelled account. In AdWords UI, you can show
canceled accounts by adjusting the filter in the upper left corner. Please
check blog

 for
more information. *

2. Is historical data lost when an account is deactivated? If I activate it
again will I be able to fetch the same data via the API?
*All historical data and pre-existing account structure will remain
unchanged. The account will be still accessible in the Front End and all
the historical data can be accessed. Once the account is reinstated then it
can be used normally via AdWords API.*

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: AdWords test batch API takes too long

2018-03-15 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Lukas,

Please find my response below:

   1. If you are using our code samples, the batch job's wait time may be
increasing in each poll attempt. That is because the code samples

are coded to poll using an exponential back off. You could change this
logic in code as per your need.
   2. Based on various factors like size of the batch job, the time of day
when the job is being executed, the type of operations in the batch job
etc., the time to complete a batch job might vary. Please refer to the best
   practices

to ensure that you avoid any other issue when uploading your batch jobs.
We don't have any AdWords test API server where you could monitor the
   performance.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Hi,

Are you trying to create shopping Ads using the API? If so, please check
this code sample

 in
Java for reference. The guide on shopping campaigns
 will also
be helpful for you. In the code, you will need to specify the merchant
center Id which is linked with the AdWords Account. If your question was
different, could you please elaborate?

Hi Sriram,

Thanks for sharing the log details. I was able to re-create the issue. Let
me get in touch with the team regarding this. I will get back to you with
an update when I heard back from them. In the meanwhile, you could use the
CampaignCriterionService.get()

with campaign id and the criterionId as a filter and confirm that the
removed criterion is not being returned via the API. It should only return
all the active user list associated with that campaign. Please check the
sample code in java here
,

which might be helpful for you. Samples in other languages can also be found
 here .
Also, in AdWords UI, you could check the active user list under the
* Audience* tab for campaign.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API.

Re: Why does the budget field get returned in CampaignService.get({'fields': ['Id', 'Name']})?

2018-03-13 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Yang,

The value is null, since the budget is not specified in selector. But some
nodes might appear even when that is not specified in the selector. You
could have a code logic to just look for the desired attributes from the
response to avoid reading additional information. In the response, you
could just look for the fields specified in your selector fields
.

Sample code is available in this

 section
of the guide.

Re: Why does the budget field get returned in CampaignService.get({'fields': ['Id', 'Name']})?

2018-03-05 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Yang,

To pull the campaign Id

 and name
,

you need to add these fields in selector
.

To achieve this please refer the python sample code here
.

When you select all fields in selector you will get budget stats as well.
As Budget

 is
part of campaign object. If you are facing an issue please share the
complete SOAP request and response log.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: 400 Bad Request

2018-03-02 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Subin,

The "invalid_grant" error usually indicates that the access or refresh
token being passed in your request is incorrect or invalid.

To verify that your credentials are correct, you could also try the CURL
request provided below and see if you are able to generate the access
tokens? If the credentials are correct, you should get an access token for
the below request.
curl https://www.googleapis.com/oauth2/v4/token \
-d refresh_token=your-refresh_token \
-d client_id=your-client-id \
-d client_secret=your-client-secret \
-d grant_type=refresh_token

If your credentials are incorrect and still facing an issues then could you
generate a new refresh token with the help of this guide

 and
retry your request? Let me know if the issue persists.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

A single job in BatchJobService

 can
operate against a mixed collection of campaigns, ad groups, ads, criteria,
labels, and feed item for a single account under the MCC. You can not push
operations for all accounts in a single batch job. For more information

Hi Chirag,

The report download limit with basic access is not related to the rows in
downloaded report. Individual report download requests is counted as one.
Please note that total number of limit is calculated by number of report
downloads or operation made by all accounts with the same developer token.
For more information please check this guide
. Let me know

Re: Unable to download reports despite waiting for 2 days

2018-02-26 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Chirag,

Please note that, the daily operational limit is based on the access level
of your developer token and not at the user level. That said, there may be
other users who are using the same developer token, which is exhausting the
daily quota of report downloads (1000/day) with Basic access. You might
want to confirm with the Admin user of the MCC account who owns the
developer token to see if there are other report downloads which uses the
same developer token. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: Unable to download reports despite waiting for 2 days

2018-02-26 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi Chirag,

The RateExceededError

 with
the trigger "Basic Access Daily Reporting Quota" indicates that you have
reached the daily quota of report downloads associated with your basic
access

developer
token. Please note that, the daily operational limit is based on the access
level of your developer token and not at the user level. You could also
check these throttling mechanisms

 to
avoid the rate limit errors.

If your use case requires to make more than 10,000 API operations and 1000
report downloads per day, you can apply for Standard access

by
filling out this application form
. Standard access
allows the developer to make unlimited number of API operations and report
downloads per day.

Thanks,
Milind, AdWords API Team.

Re: Behaviour of include_zero_impressions when impressions are zero but conversions are non-zero

2018-02-23 Thread 'Milind Sankeshware (AdWords API Team)' via AdWords API Forum
Hi,

If include_zero_impressions is false, report output will not include rows
where all specified metric fields are zero. Thus, even if this header is
false and the Impressions of a row is zero, the row is still returned in
case any of the specified metric fields have non-zero values. Setting zero
impression to false is equivalent to impression > 0 in where clause. For
more information please check this

guide.
