Fuses or circuit breakers when paralleling batteries are really non optional. Run each ground wire to a ground block or bus bar. Run each power wire to a fuse and bus the other sides together. The least expensive way is probably the dual level DIN rail fuse blocks if you’re talking fairly low

Buying a crimper for Anderson Power Pole and a set of the connectors has saved me a lot of time. I found them useful for vehicle repair/modification purposes as well. It's just a regular ratcheting crimper but comes with the die for the three most common sizes.
