And by the way, my Amazon Alexa Tap goes into the Bathroom, I then take it back
to the charging dock.

Yes I lament the disappearance of the Echo Tap so are you sure that’s gone?
I use my Echo Dot machines as clocks and information providers for want of a
better description as they’re really not good music players unless you
Yes and thanks for pointing that out.
The chap in the review under discussion knew his stuff by the sound of things
and certainly knew how to record something, he certainly had the right
equipment to do the job which really doesn’t take all that much these days.

Ah good. Because that's something else I forgot to point out. I've never
heard a dot. But I was just pointing out to that person that recordings
can at times be unfair. Good to hear that wasn't the case here though.

The Hands Free of the echo is rubbish and - as the reviewer points out - this
has been improved with the Echo 3rd Generation, I make calls with my Echo 2nd
generation where hands free quality is absolutely brilliant - 2nd Generation of
Echo not to be confused with 2nd generation of echo dot -.

Certainly the Echo Dot 2ND machines I have here sound Tinny compared to the
Google Home Mini which sounds okay so if there’s anything around the same size
that sounds better then I’m all for it and I wouldn’t waste any time in ridding
myself of the Amazon 2nd Generation Dot machines and
Yeah to be fair too we'd have to understand what gear was used for
recording. Also mic placement. Saddly recording gear doesn't exactly
replace ear drums. I would say only a Sound Devices 7 series recorder
and some real good mic but even at that I can't really judge as I've not
heard a
I've actually heard the original Dot; I found it to be "okay"...but some of
us would definitely want to plug in another speaker as the original Dot was
just " okay!" Not any base; but it did seem (as best as I remember) to have
an ample amount of volume; more than what it sounded like in the
they're gone,
they're gone!

Very informative
hmm. I have both an Echo Dot 2nd gen and a Google Home Mini and
neither one ssounds as bad or quiet as the ones in the Youtube video.
In fact I use a Google Home mini in my bedroom to listen to music when
I'm in the shower and if the volume was that low I would never be able
to hear it over the
Very informative.
Now if they implement some sort of trade-in program for the Echo 2nd
Generation I purchased earlier this year. I'll definitely pick the new
3rd generation Echo up.
