Hi All
I was wondering if the soundcard matrix was going to be updated. It's
over a year since it was and alot of new cards/usb devices are now
available.

Hi All
I'm currently building a new system for the living room to suit dual
purposes.
Primary - Video/TV PC (5.1) - audio player (stereo)
Secondary - recording room
What I want to do to make this easy is set it up so MythTV defaults to
the S/Pdif only for video on the MB and everything else
To my knowledge the PCM slider or nvidia nforce chips controls the
digital out volume (s/pdif,ac3)..
cheers

I use a passive aluminium external hd case and it is pretty quiet...
I have found seagate drives have the lowest noise output... everything

Hi
I just tried opening a file with multiple ports assigned to the mtpav.
It locked the system.
This repeated in testing again. However if opening assigning a port to
the mtpav prior to opening a file it worked perfectly.

Does this happen only with the snd-mtpav driver or also with other

Has any9one else experienced this or can come up with a resolution for

Hi
Snd-config is for OSS modules not ALSA.
If you have modules.conf setup correctly (if not look at the info page
for your sound-card on the alsa website) .. you will find the easiest
way to start your drivers is using the alsasound script found in
../alsa-driver/utils/
Simply type in

Hi John
Last thing before I go to bed .. (3am here but I've been doing some
testing... results later)
I would highly recommend M-Audio products both for their quality and
support on this OS. I use a Delta 66 (PCI based though)
I would like to add, on other platforms USB 1.1 has not been
card and wouldn't use the same chip.

I'm having troubles with the ALSA under Mandrake 8.2 using a patched
version of the 2.4.17 kernel
When I try to load ALSA I get the message below (and below that my
modules.conf file) .. the driver has been sucessfully installed but
not the drivers for the soundcards..
