How can I tell when a dumper and taper starts and stops.
I have it set up so that a particular dump start 3 hours later, which I set
in the disklist file.
In what logs can I see when it started and stopped. I am looking for the
time of day start and stop.
thanks

Ok, I've changed over to the new version that was suggested, and I have
also incorporated the suggestions of several people who's name escape
me (sorry). This now has the 'mt offline' variable of the newest

Hi,
I am using RH 7.0 and amanda 2.4.1p1 (without bsd auth compiled
in). Running amcheck results no errors. All the debug files result no
errors.
But I got "Result Missing" errors back in the amreport after
amdump. Below is the error in amdump.1 file under the log location. The
log.error.
Hello,
We are running Amanda 2.4.1p1 on an SGI running IRIX 6.5.3m
and have problems backing up a 'large' partition (aprox 70gig)
to our DLT drive.
We though to use TAR rather than dump for this partition and
modified amanda.conf and disklist in what we believe are the
correct ways.
amanda.con
I'll try that -- felt a little foolish though, because the
reply from Alexandre Oliva about the alternate way to get
to the "faq-o-matic" site answered a lot of questions
I'm having.
Thank you though for your suggestion

I hadn't heard back from anyone with a setting for my
DLTtape IV 40/80 Gb tapes, so I went ahead and ran

I have noticed that the amdump.n log file has mixed output from

Hi all!
I wish to restore a file on the client (stanley) and the server is hall.
When I run :
amrecover -C stanley -s hall.domain.org -d /dev/nst0
It does not complain about anything and lets me specifify which files to
restore but then when I try and extract them this happens :

Just because Amanda tells you it wants LTO020, it doesn't mean it
won't accept one of the other 4 recyclable tapes.
