Hi, I am trying to make a test. I want to see what is in
the tape, and I also want to restore some files using amrestore. In my index
directory I have these directories listed above and inside each of them I have a
file called 20020704_0
_etc/
_mnt_backup_ceara_etc/
_mnt_backup_ceara_home/
Hi, what´s the differenceabout amrestore and
amrecover can anyone explain to me? wich program should I use to extract files
of a tape?

I consider to buy a OnStream ADR SC30e SCSI drive to backup a linux server
(RH 7.0, kernel 2.4.9) with amanda 2.4.2p2.
I learned so far that the standard linux st driver doesn't work with this
drive. Instead there is a seperate osst driver that implements the command
set for this drive:

Indexes are stored for each disklist entry. If, e.g., you have an entry
for /home, then you would do setdisk /home.

Hi All,
I recently upgraded my amanda version to 2.4.3b3 as part of a move from solaris
2.6 to 2.8 (in particular, the upgrade seemed necessary in order to use Sun's
generic sgen driver with amanda) However, I am now encountering some problems
when I try to restore a file using amrecover.
