hello all,

yeah, it's a CVMC filesystem with a ton of small flat files, no large
individual files.. only .c and .h files and things like that.

hello ross,
remember, on the amanda host (cypress) you have to allow for root to access
the box from you're recovering from.
cypress should have something like:
contents of /home/amanda/.amandahosts :
cypress root
you have to allow access to the root user for amrecover to work properly.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/amanda-win32/
it's a bit tricky to get working...

i was just curious how successful anyone has been using large (= 20 tape)

Hi guys!
hello everyone,
i think i've almost got amanda configured to work with my changer 100%. i
can load and unload tapes via the amtape command. specifying which slot i
want to load also works flawlessly. however, if i try and run an `amtape
conf show`, i get errors as it tries to read each tape
thanks jason,
I understand. I recommend you pick up the book unix backup and
restore. this book also has a HUGE section on amanda. This is the
same section online whose link can be found at http://www.amanda.org.

hello all,
i have a PowerStor L200 DLT tape-changer unit connected via an Adaptec 29160
controller, and am running my amanda server (v2.4.2p2) on a Linux RH v7.1
box.
i can read/label/write to a tape in the drive, and if i use 'amtape conf
eject', my L200 automatically unloads the tape
let me give this one a shot:
first, make sure that the amanda account on the remote system (if that's
what you're using) has an .amandahosts file in its home directory with the
server host/user in it.
second, make sure (on the remote host) that you make the necessary changes
to /etc/hosts.allow
hello,
i'm sorry as this is definitely a newbie question, however, i don't have
much experience with backup devices.

using my workstation with a 20/40 GB DAT drive as an amanda server to do
simple network backups for a
hello again,
one more question..
i'm setting up the disklist entry for an HP-UX v11.0 i'll be backing up
across the network. since it's setup as a volume and not seperate
filesystems, will i have to use the *exclude method to specify what
files/dirs i want backed up on the HP box or is there
hello all,
i'm trying to build amanda on an HP A180 box running HP-UX v10.20, however,
I'm running into the following errors when running ./configure. It seems to
have built fine on my HP-UX v11.0 A180, but the 10.20 box fails the
configure process. I've stripped out everything but the errors
