Thanks a lot for the write up Shawn! I'm actually just about to hit the
install button for a POC environment that I've created, however we are only
evaluating Smart IT as we have Kinetic Data for our request tools. The one
thing that you mentioned already and I don't really like is that you
Hi,
We are upgrading to 8.1.2 with the new install approach. I have workflow
in AIE on the old Remedy 7.0 system. We installed the CMDB 8.1.2 and I am
wondering if a) we should just rebuild everything in the new AI or b) Do
should we install AIE also and migrate the workflow over? (as
Thanks Saji. I’ll investigate the possibility of these coming as a result of
RKM in some way.
Thanks,
Shawn Pierson

Thank you for your response. I did have it set to update old records with new
data. It turns out that the issue was the length of the entry id/issue id
field. In prior versions of ARS, the field was 15 characters long. We've been
on it since version 4.5 and hence had forms that had the
Thanks for the additional information Ben! Good work by the way!

We're already using SRM to some degree so MyIT makes a lot of sense for us. In
your situation though, I don't see the harm in having MyIT installed but
unused. It doesn't seem to take up that much space and resources, sort of like
that purchasing functionality in Asset Management
Just for your information - the code scanner is built in the mobile Smart
IT apps, and you could use it for the rapid access to the assets in the
Atrium CMDB. The bar/qr code could be generated basing on the serial number
value in the asset record in Remedy Asset Management.

Dmitry
Doesn’t that bump up against the limitation of not being directly tied into
Asset Management though? My understanding is that I could export the AM data
to import into MyIT but it would have to be maintained separately to keep MyIT
up to date if a printer is added or removed. That doesn’t

You would still have the option of using that naming convention to indicate the
phasing but I think it makes more sense to make it a property of the filter
rather than relying on the filter name to trigger the phasing. There’s no
reason we can’t set the phasing in a filter property and
Hi,
RRR|Chive actually has a setting for changing the size of the Request ID, or
the prefix for that matter.
This would change prefix to XYZ and the total lenght to 10:
entryidmode = XYZ000
You can go from ARX to Target Server or you can go server to server.
You can even do incremental
So I was able to successfully install the Smart IT/MyIT application within my
sandbox environment and tie it into an already existing POC ITSM instance. I
was able to log in just fine and everything seemed to look good. Then I ran
the onboarding tool to bring in my ITSM data into the MongoDB
So I feel like an idiot, all that was needed was clearing my cache. Something
must have gotten corrupted in my browser cache, but after clearing it I'm back
in with my data migrated into my activity feed.

Well, what I mentioned in my previous reply refers only to Smart IT. For
MyIT the assets and corresponding qr codes are being managed separately
through MyIT admin console, that's true. Partially they could be imported
from Atrium shared views though. The point here is that opposite to Smart
IT in
I misread your post (no fault of yours, but I seem to be getting a new internal
Remedy project at least twice a day) and had MyIT on my brain when you clearly
mentioned SmartIT. So far all I’ve tested was relating a CI+ tied to a user on
an Incident but that works great.
Thanks,
Shawn
Carina,
Were you referring to a specific form? Are you referring to a custom or ITSM
form?
We’re on ARS and ITSM 8.1 without Service Pack right now, but I haven’t seen 8
chars on Field 1 either.

Am I reading that right? That in 8.1.2, they've shortened the field length
of field ID 1 down to 8 characters? Is that across the board or just in
some cases? That seems like a big change. I didn't see anything in the
release notes on the docs website. We are on 8.1.0, and were
contemplating
This is a Change ID from my 8.1.

It is still 15 characters.

Good morning,
Users have reported a very strange issue to me. Basically, we are seeing
Incidents created, apparently from SRM, with only a Summary populated that says
Incident Sample. I turned on the option to create Service Requests when an
Incident is manually created several years ago,
Hey Shawn,
The 'incident sample' I believe is the OOTB incident creator in SRM. In
RKM, you can raise an incident from an article. 'Incident sample' is the
AOT.

Good morning,
I thought I'd provide you all with my first impressions on MyIT and SmartIT.
Basically, I set up a new development Remedy environment and took a copy of the
production database so we'd have a good working proof of concept system. Last
week, we installed MyIT and SmartIT and
