What distribution are you on ?
Some distributions install mpg321 and symlink it to mpg123, which gives bad
sound and other weird issues. On Debian for example you have to have non-free
in your sources.list to get mpg123, if not, it will install mpg321.

In the US you would be forced to use a Eicon Diva Server card or any
specific other card, that supports the ISDN protocol provided by the
telco you are connected to.

No need to compile that from source. 0.59r is available as package in
woody/non-free and 0.59q in sarge/non-free. mpg321 on Debian is only
symlinked to mpg123 if you don't use non-free.

kernel-compile. You don't need it, when using zaphfc.
The reason, why it stops (like no dialtone anymore) is when you run
ztcfg more than once, after the machine has booted. That'll kill zaphfc
and is a known bug.

The HFC-S ISDN card is the same as the quadbri (basically).
Difference is just, that the quadbri has 4 ports and possibility for
termination and power on the ports, if necessary.

Currently they are out of UK numbers again, but once they have them you would get
a local London or Reading number.

prilocaldialplan is not something that is part of asterisk, but
introduced in the patches from kapejod's bristuff 0.0.2
(http://www.junghanns.net), which add's BRI zaptel telephony to
asterisk. That is the reason why some people have it and some not.
