Hi Dark.I completely agree with you about craptunes.I would recommend that you check out the players at www.talkingmp3players.comThey are very cheap mp3 players pre-loaded with rockbox which makes them talk. You store your media in the internal memory and on micro sd cards.Im actuallly considering purchasing one of these, since they look really nice. I dont know.As for craptunes, I never, ever, ever, ever use it. The only time I will use it is if I have to restore my iOS device.

I will confess I was in two minds about trying this again, sinse on the one hand people were extremely enthusiastic about the experiment last month, however on the other, there havent been any posts in the October Monthly one for nearly two weeks.I thought however peoples enthusiasm for the idea probably waranted another try. Ill also do as my friend used to on her forum and stick the topic at the start of the offtopic room so people remember it is there. Just to be clear, this is a topic for discussion of anything and everything in a more light, chatty way than you would have in a general topc. Il also remind people that conversation is a two way street. What I saw last month was a few people who came, made one post about their li

As I said, this is a second experiment and if it doesnt work it doesnt work I just thought it was worth a try. So me. It is currently 7 in the morning and Ive just made coffee. I love early dawn in the north, indeed its one reason I prefer winter to summer sinse I always get to be around at this time of day. Theres just something in the quality of the light and the air that is a bit lovely, and the silence, especially if Im up drinking coffee. We even occasionally have literally red dawns which are lovely to see, but going out and just hearing the bbirds and the wind in the trees behind my flat is nice enough, and sinse Reever needs to go out early I might as well get fun out of it myself too. My Iphone continues to be a pest to sort out which is irritating sinse Ive almost fini

I actually enjoyed some of these first time around, because I love the weerdness of the alternative universe, and I like the fact that the Doctors possession in Zagreus has consequences, indeed Ive had some fans who complain that the 8th doctor becomes unlikeable, but I personally really like the fact that being taken over by a force of anti time and being used as an Assassin by Rassilon has consequences for The Doctor, indeed Ive noticed that a lot of Whovian fans dont seem to like the idea of the Doctor being damage by events, or even get damaged characters at all. I personally love characters who are affected by what happens to them and hate invincible ones who never have a problem (one I always disliked some of the current tv series). When i finish the divergent un

One interesting fact that occurred to me yesterday is I was having coffee with a friend and shd discussing synth readers, sinse shes just had a baby and is having physical trouble holding print books but doesnt want to buy the same books she already owns print coppies off for her kindle. we discussed audio books and synths, and she was talking in quite a reasonable way about human phoneme use and the like. I find it interesting, and indeed encouraging that where previously this technology involved with synth voices was always seen as a specialist, Vi specific thing, now with siri and Googles speaking
version its becoming a more mainstream application, which likely means well see some improvements on voices for Ios and other systems in the future. This would be good. Ive never yet heard a synth voice that Id want to read a book with, sinse the rythm and speech is just too alien and unconvincing to make reading pleasant, but I dont discount the possibility of a future synth being good enough. Of course, thats a personal preference thing. Well thats pretty much what Im up to at the moment, dawn, coffee and contemplating wrestling Itunes today. How about everyone else?

Re: Monthly chat November

Ive used synths to read as a last resort, it isnt ideal but with the voice slowed down it is doable. I particularly did this with some of the Black Library novels in the warhammer 40,000 setting, the NightLords trilogy written by Aaron Dempski Boden is truly phenomenal for its ability to make what should be villains into protagonists. FYI the Night Lords were one of the space marine legions to turn traitor, they werent tainted by the forces of Chaos but their origins led them down the road of incredibly harsh terror tactics. When they got in trouble for this they felt the emperor had used them to do all his dirty work then threw them aside when he felt such tactics were no longer necessary, as such they not only hate the Imperium for what they see as unjust treatment for their work to help build it but there is a lot of friction with other traitors and even members of their own legion who have knowingly or otherwise become tainted. Different warbands of the fract
ured legion have differing opinions on how far they should make use of the Chaos gods and sorcerors for their own ends, with one of the leading protagonists being especially purist in demanding they rely on their own strength alone. Theres also a lot of time devoted to a couple of the leading slaves on board their ship which provides an interesting perspective on people who are effectively trapped living among some of the nastiest demigods the 40K setting has to offer.Personally Im glad to have the return of the Big Bang Theory and Agents of Shield here in the UK. Im normally meh about superhero stuff but I like the way Agents of Shield follows a team of normal humans dealing with gifted individuals as well as the organisations trying to take advantage of them for their own benefit. As for the Big Bang Theory, its a total geekfest and I cant help but wonder if Sheldon will ever figure out what girls are for.

Re: Monthly chat November

Ive got the audio books of some of the warhammer stuff Cx2, but dont really know where to start with them or what I should be doing sinse I only know the basics of the setting and that mostly from talking to friends who play the tabeltop wargame.I did read the falcon Banner books by Christopher Liden in synth (god knows though when hes going to get around to writing book 6 and actually finishing the conclusion), and of course I read with a synth for choiceofgames, gamebooks and the like, its just not something Id particularly want, especially for poetic or impressionistic authors, authors with a distinct linguistic sttyle or authors who have very strong mood and characters.I now cannot remember much of the Falcon Banner books, and Im fairly sure I would had I read them with audio, or even in braille, though of course Braille reading presents its own issues especially in terms of speed and apprehention.
As to tv, Ive heard good things about agents of shield. My downer on Super Heroes is more to do with the very stat characters who arent affected by much, predictable plots and lack of time spent on the world or setting as opposed to the principle characters egos. I do know good examples of super hero fiction, the Anime Tiger and bunny, the Kickass films (though those are more a parody of a superhero), the Secret world chronicle podcast series which can be found here and the original Tim Berton Batman, but generally as a genre I find it interests me less than say pure sf or fantasy, although Ill give bits of it a try if they seem different enough to the average to likely be interesting.Btw, I am also aware that in some lights The Doctor could be thought of as a Super hero, though I would disagree with that assessment however that is a hole other debate. As to Big Bang theory, well genophobia
and that sort of comedy dont mix unfortunately. Indeed I cant actually think of the last tv comedy I liked (perhaps being human, though arguably that isnt a comedy just funny in places). Then again this is one of the unfortunate consequences of not owning a tv license sinse while I miss the piles and piles of drek, I also miss the one or two good things that come along occasionally too, though there never seem many of those (well not enough to justify paying my license fee anyway).

Re: Learning about quests in King of Dragon Pass

Well I admit I have done that a couple of times, but it is a bit of a cheat, and imho is one reason the short game is harder than the long game sinse in the Long game you can generally cope with the consequences of a failed quest, indeed thats sort of part of the fun of Kodp, being able to cope with the consequences of your bad luck and see how your clan makes it through in the end.You should always try the quest with a worshipper of the same god with good stats appropriate to the quest, so Humacti should be strong in combat, Ernalda worshippers with good plants and animals etc, Its also a good idea to alocate magic to quests during sacred time and to have a reserve of clan magic held back as well. I also believe storm season is the best time for Questing, though Im less sure of that one.Elmals and Uraldas are likely the hardest two quests, indeed though the Wiki says Elmals is the hardest I personally think Uraldas is harder
myself, sinse an Elmel worshipper usually has high combat and Elmels quest is a bit of a combat fest, indeed I completed Elmels before I completed Uraldas, those bloody bulls!

I agree with Scotf on the Gma games. The Bsc titles were some of the first games I bought back in 2006, well Hunter, Troopanum and Pipe 2 anyway. Yes, they are absolute arcade and definitely reaction fests, though I will say the gameplay changes on higher difficulties, though possibly not enough to justify much. Hunter is imho the best, and that for its audio ambience and atmosphere and the fact that your effectively getting a large set of smaller arcade challenges each with slightly different rules and mechanics, rather than the pure reaction fest of Troop 2 or the management of different factors that was Pipe 2. We do have better arcade titles now, blind swordsman, somethinelse on Ios, however I would still be sorry for the games to Vanish, especially Hunter for its very atmospheric audio.

One method might be to have several people club together buy the licenses from him perminantly
to have the games released as abandonware, if indeed hes not working on them at all.Im not sure how much that would cost, but being as he sold fthe Keygen and all the setup files for 75 uss, I assume hed be willing to enter into some sort of arrangement, though if he were asking several thousand we might be in trouble.

@Grryf, with the screen locking, go into settings/general/autolock and turn your autolock off. Ive had to do this for quite a few games including Ticonblu. Generally anything that has sound and might involve me not touching the screen for a while or reading with vo. I agree about the game, though the bugs with death have been a pest. With respect to Ios versions I was just wondering if perhaps some of the more serious bugs people reported that I hadnt experienced myself like the whisper freeze in endless mode came from Ios 8, though possibly not. I do know the game has problems displaying on Ipad and cant even be bought past the initial which control method would you like screen, which is a shame. Hopefully well see some major fixes soon. @Dan, missing content? I know one of the arenas is called coming soon but I didnt notice a lot else missing, unless you count collecting the diamonds in endless mode.
Looking at the game and the way it is designed, I do wonder if more challenges, weapons etc might be added in the future. Id be happy to pay for extra content like that with an in app purchice, though I am glad the in game coins and diamonds are only possible to earn by playing sinse it would take the fun and reward out of multiple goes at the game if you could simply buy all the upgrades with real money, as unlike with most games that have an in game currency earning extra coins (and hopefully soon diamonds), is rather fun!

Hi. I used to have one of these labeler things, the same as the other posters had. It had a wheel witch you had to turn to find the rite character, and there was a little indent in one part of hte wheel that indicated that the character above that is the one that you are going to type. I tried using it once, but after a few weeks latr tha labels came off. and also, i noticed the same as cae, that you had to have a space or two before pulling i out. Oh, and i must also mention that there was one similar to this but in tactile actuall letters. It was smaller but you didnt know what you were writing if you were blind so i used the braille one. The part where you had to cut th label off, well... The sighted one had a cut character, but the braillle fifnt. You had to hold down on the space and very forcefully pull it out!

Hi,the turning off of the autolock shouldnt really be needed (but does work for now)since Ive seen this fixed in other apps as well, although I dont remember if this was a issue with ios7.Do any of you running ios8 and such experience the screen locking while you are playing the game when its set to a minute lock?Fortunatly I havent encountered any other bugs besides the slot machine bug, a fix to which can be found in my post above, besides and the screenlock bug, which again is fixed or can be taken care of for a while by turning off the autolock. So I have played it for a few hours, and its really fun! the sounds are awesome, the dr bastard is a bastard and funny to boot, and killing zombies in endless doesnt freeze for me at all,so thats neat, too!I have gone through most challenges, havent done the zombie hawrd level yet, and I do hope more challenges are comeing soon. Hello all,While some though are sadly true, its still strange to see here no comment at all, and even nobody mentionning the only real worth new feature of jaws 16: the introduction of MathML support; and for a first trial, its not so badly made.I would have loved to have this feature only 2-3 years before, when I had still vector calculus and linear algebra courses at university. I hope that FS will pursuit in this direction, to help thousends of students struggling with math at college or university. While all the rest is more or less usless bull shit news, we have still a very nice innovation here (that should have appeared ages ago but its another discussion). That being said, I dont especially defend FS. I feeled exactly the same as you last year when jaws 15 went out. Their biggest problems remain their legendary crazyness about authorizations, and the fact that they dont listen to users needs to decide what to d
 o whatever you might say.

3 Kingdoms Mud

2014-11-01 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — New releases room : bladestorm360 via Audiogames-reflector

3 Kingdoms Mud

So this mud has been discussed a bit on here, but I wanted to make an official topic for it. I started getting back into it recently, and though its very slow, its actually quite fun.3 kingdoms is a mud that combines 3 different dimensions into one atmosphere. Science, fantasy, and chaos. Its a little like 4 dimensions in that regard, but much more advanced. Fantasy is basically medieval stuff: magic users, dragons, castles. Science is everything from futuristic space stations to Jedi to cyborgs. Chaos is, well, chaos. Everything from shapeshifters, to fisher price playhouses, to death tacos, to Barney. Figure that one out, haha. The guilds are along the same lines. There are 18 different guilds, most of which I have not played because of the speed of gameplay. However, all the guilds seem to be fairly advanced. Im currently playing a cyborg, which has a rather incredible system of implants for its guild powers. Instead of taking up equip
ment slots or being simple stat boosters, implants are installed in many different body locations and can be anything from stat boosting exo-arms, to built in weaponry like incendiary cannons or hand razors, to utilitarian implants like finger lights and retractible dive fins. All of this is carefully balanced by a system of power implants that you can install, power storage implants like battery packs and power regeneration systems like solar cells and flywheels. Eventually youll get the power grid, which gives you much more freedom with your power implants. Anyway, there are many other guilds, such as angel, fremen (yes, the ones from Dune,) Jedi (of course everyone knows where theyre from,) changelings, priests, bards, any other common and not so common staples of mudding life. There are even 3 basic guilds, called temp guilds, to help new players get started. These guilds are much more lax, can be joined without needing to be recruited by another player, and advance
more quickly than any other guild on the game, but they have a hard cap at level 60 and thus will never be as powerful as a full-featured guild. I tried fighter and found it to be very powerful, though quite boring, but I can see where it would definitely be useful for newbies. There are other ways to customize your character, above and beyond that offered by guilds. Guilds generally have many ways to customize your character anyway, such as choosing your implants as a cyborg and switching between them when you want to, choosing which powers you want as a psicorps and switching between them, developing your skill tree as a bladesinger, etc. However, there are also crafting professions to be joined, 3 crafting and 3 gathering. There are many professions as well to help you customize further, that provide skill, attribute and other statistic boosts, and sometimes special abilities. You get 2 minor professions, 2 specialization professions and 1 major profession. Theres als
o a guild that can be joined at level 90 called the ascended, which is in addition to your normal guild, and with perks, you can even combine the benefits of two different guilds together at some point, though Im not sure exactly how this works yet. As you can see though, theres a ton of room for customization.Important to note is that there was just some major policy updating. Quest info is now free and clear to be discussed with whoever yo uwant to, though the wizards still ask that if someone doesnt want any quest info, that you respect their wishes. Theres also been some newbie updates that I dont think are quite in yet, such as starting the game with a set of gear and picking one of the temp guilds at login instead of at level 5. Theres even some talk about letting mid level players summon this gear to them with a command. You can read more about this by typing aread 802 in the game. This mud has a rather unique playstyle in that
you do not keep your gear, either when you log out or when the mud reboots, which happens every few days. This keeps the game competitive so that unique items are not hoarded and some people just like to play that way. Its not something Im crazy about, but theres ways to work around it and plenty of ways to acquire gear every time you log in. At level 30 and for quite a bit of gold, you can also buy a house that will let you store your gear until the mud reboots. Guilds all have a donation system as well, so if you join a guild with a good playerbase there will usually be something in the donation containers.I know this post was a little random, but hopefully Ill see some of you playing there. This mud is paced very slowly, so dont expect to get powerful quickly. The player base is very helpful though, the newbie tutorial and newbieland is pretty awesome, and the game has a lot of advanced mechanics, especially in its questing. You can fin
d it at:Address: 3k.orgPort: 3000There are no sound packs that I know of. See you in the game. Im Gordan if anyone needs any help, though Im not

Problems building a website with CMS Made Simple

Problems building a website with CMS Made Simple

Hi everyone, has anyone used this CMS on a shared hosting successfully?I dont feel like going into much detail as to why I chose this particular CMS over any others or what exact issues Im having before I find out whether anyone might be familiar enough with CMSMS to be able to help me in the first place, but I would really appreciate any help if at all possible. Im getting pretty desperate because the project is taking up way more time than I ever estimated it could.Basically, I offered a guide dog trainer in this country to rebuild her website for her. It was getting outdated for the last several years and her previous webmaster just stopped communicating with her entirely. The old website wasnt the easiest and most comfortable to navigate with a screen reader either, although it was still basically accessible, not to mention that her ordinary user skills, where basic text editing in MS Word is the ceiling for her, wouldnt be enou
gh if she wanted to add news about new dogs in training on her own when the website foundation itself was already working and stable.I need to build my own user-defined tags for specific pieces of functionality that the CMSMS core doesnt make possible by default. So, if anyone has ever developed an UDT for a website using CMS Made Simple, I would be extremely grateful if you could reply. Please, dont PM me, I hardly ever check this part of the forum at all any more. If you reply directly to this topic and are willing to help, Il arrange other contact means to discuss the issues further as to avoid cluttering this forum.I tried to register at the official CMS Made Simple forums but Webvisum failed at their captcha, so Im more or less left out of that community, which is pretty frustrating. And I dont feel like I have enough time and energy to start looking for a different community that might perhaps be more appropriate to discuss
web development problems using this CMS from a blind persons perspective pretty much only by trial and error, having no previous information about that community, when the results I could get from there, if any, are absolutely uncertain at the moment. Thanks for reading and understanding. Ill keep checking this topic several times a day as I am really starting to feel cornered and would appreciate any help immensely. Many thanks in advance!Lukas

Re: Monthly chat November

Hello,I actually havent really listened to many audiobooks. I do like them though, Steven Fry reading Harry Potter was just incredible.I recently watched a new big finish doctor who series called The Early Adventures, and it is awesome. Its got sort of a cast and narator at the same time. This morning, I went to a martial arts lesson, and it was rather nice because I got to hold a foam shield type thing and have the thing be kicked by all of the students, which was nice because I could gauge how powerful they are. Quite interesting stuff actually. Every student did things slightly differently even though they were doing pretty much the same action.Apart from that, I recently got back into using Facebook again, and Im actually very impressed with it. Since going to Feel The Force Ive got a hole new outlook on it, and have been keeping in contact with people using it.Im also trying to introduce Audio Defence to some sighted
folks but have no idea how they are going to react, so that could be fun.

Im not sure if bluestacks app player emulates a real android environment. From what I understand, its an app player, so it only emulates one app at a time, kind of like wine for mac. Youd have to emulate the talkback app in the app layer for it to work, and even at that Im sure it isnt worth it. If you really wanna try android, you should get andro vm. I dont have the one with talkback anymore, unfortunately. Person hosting it took it down, but if I ever find it again, Ill upload it. Its android 4.1.1, because there hasnt been any work on an accessible kitkat one and considering andro vm has switched to Genymotion, thats a whole new thing entirely. All Im saying is, these app emulators arent gonna help you much if this is what you are aiming to do without a physical droid.

well I personally believe that more than one arena is missing, for there needs to be at least another to introduce other zombie types, and the full crowd one on top of that.I am perfectly fine paying for add-ons for this to support the dev, but with the state this is in, I just feel that the game has been rushed and therefore appears like a beta to me. Thats not to say I dont find it incredibly enjoyable though. Anyone got tips for the riot zombie? that bugger gets me every time as I cant yet figure out when he lets the shield down.

I am using autolock 1 minute and so far its not been a problem for me, though it has in the past EG with Ticonblu.I have mixed feelings about upgrading for real money, but in this instance I think its genuinely a pleasure to see an in-game currency establishment that doesnt require it. Why, dont you _want_ to kill more monsters, just for the fun of it? This game is more elaborate and fun than I thought possible, given the simple mechanic. But it does run the real risk of running out of content. Without the challenges, without the powerups, then yes, it will eventually weary.

Hi Lukas and Dark,To be honest, there wasnt anything overlooked with her training and she wasnt really spoilt. The only time when she barks, funnily enough, is whenever I come in to take my piano lesson. And there hasnt been any wrong treatment with her. Could it perhaps be because of the other dog? According to what Ive heard, if the younger dog has something like a toy, the older dog chases the younger one. Theyve got this sort of rivalry between them. But from what Ive seen, she isnt sspoilt. It has only been these past few times that she has barked so much, otherwise shes just lying down or sleeping.

Best way to implement screen reader support with BGT

2014-11-01 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Developers room : Orin via Audiogames-reflector

Best way to implement screen reader support with BGT

Hi all,Yes, I know theres the screen reader functions in BGT which I plan on using, with particular attention to the screen_reader_is_running function, as itll look for any of the four readers if the reader parameter isnt specified. However, instead of simply popping up an alert box if the screen reader isnt running, I want it to switch to Sapi. The most obvious way to do this, though counterproductive code whise, is to use the screen reader speak function and make two different versions of the same output. The Screen Reader Speak version and under it, the tts_speak version if screen reader running is false. So, aside from the menus, is there a way I could have BGT read from a file and either TTS could be called if screen reader is false, or the other way around? You know, for story text, NPC conversation to the player, etc. Similar to how Paladin of the Sky does it.I can support screen readers for individual text strings, because I re
ad the language tutorial and the reffrence, but I suppose I can make individual files for each chapter or what have you, because if I make text files how can I make BGT read only certain things from it at certain parts based on location and other factors. Its a sidescroller and Ill just make indevidual files for inclusion for gameplay, but I was looking at the screen reader function and was like, okay, I can make screen reader speak something individually, but what about if I wanted to make Sapi say the same thing without having to write the same text in the parameters of a different function.

There are classes that dont need any gear, like monks and elementals. As for getting the best stuff, there really isnt any. Theres so many items now that usually everyone gets something despite the large playerbase, and things are sold on auction quite often. Gold can be a little hard to build up, and guild power, but really the gear isnt as big of a deal as it seems. That was my main problem with the game at first, but Ive found that its not that bad, especially with people donating to the guilds often and helpful players.

Sort of.You want to write two functions. InitializeSpeech, say, and speak. Your InitializeSpeech function sets the flag, so that youre not constantly checking. The speak function takes a string and speaks it based on the flag with a simple if statement. This should do the trick, and it should only take 20 lines at most.

Chaos Versions for bokurano daiboukenn 2 and bokurano daiboukenn 3

Chaos Versions for bokurano daiboukenn 2 and bokurano daiboukenn 3

Before I explain about the chaos versions for both of these wonderful games, I have a few important statements. Firstly, I apologize if I have posted this topic in the wrong room. I wouldnt say that these are New Releases exactly, but I felt as though this room is where a topic like this should belong, as most people arent quite aware of the existences of these versions and where they can be obtained along with information about them. Secondly, I am not the developer of these versions. I am just posting a topic about them, giving general information and links, in case anyone wants to know more information about the versions, and where they can be found for anyone who wants to try them out. I am not the person who should be flooded with reports about the bugs you may encounter. I believe that about covers the important introduction so Ill just give the information now.The Chaos versions of bokurano daiboukenn 2 and bokurano daiboukenn 3 are simpley mods of the original games, with changes to certain elements in order to make game play more exciting or fun than it already is. For example, both Chaos versions change the functionality of certain weapons in both games and both Chaos versions increase the default walking speed. Both of these versions are ran as a separate executable, making it simple to know the difference between the original and modded game. The wiki where information, updates, and download links can be found for these two Chaos Versions is located at:http://wikiwiki.jp/audiogames/Note that the above page is in Japanese. For some odd reason, Google Translate insists that this page is already in English, so unfortunately the Instant Translate ADDON for NVDA is probably the most efficient way for translating this page.Direct links to the Chaos versions are below:BK2:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/594 … e130c5.exeBK3:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/594 … 28cb21.exeNote that one will need to already have a copy of the original game before using a Chaos version. Once a Chaos Version is downloaded, run the installer. A dialogue should appear, and you should press yes. Next, the files will be extracted into a folder with the same name as the installer. This folder will be located in the same directory as the installer. Once the files are extracted, another dialogue will appear. Just press enter to close the installer. Inside of the folder the installer created, you will find the Chaos executable, the chaos read me, and the chaos change log. Copy these files into your root BK directory and you are set. If anyone has any questions, complaints, concerns, statements, facts, opinions, rants, discussions, life changing BK related quotes, fascinating BK related paradoxes, ETC, please feel free to share them below. Id be interested to see them. Please remember for the sake of the developer of the original games that although the Chaos versions can be entertaining, successfully completing the original games is always more satisfying and rewarding. The original version of BK3 does prevent the loading of Chaos files, but I am not sure about BK2. Either way, just remember that it is always safer to keep your Chaos Save Files separate from your original Save Files. Both versions contain a read me and change log that thoroughly list the changes and differences between the original game and the chaos version (in Japanese). Re: Monthly chat November

@Nin, that makes sense, its a shame there isnt more audio stuff available in Rumanian, though I wonder is there a Rumanian translation of Count Dracula? . Sorry, was reading a couple of articles on the history of vampires in literature today and it was something I wondered about given that Bram Stoker based the character of The Count on the historical Vlad Tepes the third, (theres actually a wonderful Doctor who audio from Big Finish where the doctor meets the real count).@Aaron, the martial arts sounds fun. Ive never had the coordination to learn myself, or much of the aggression required either. Ive been tempted to learn TaiChi for the exercise and philosophy, however all the clubs Ive seen have the instructor standing at the front and demonstrating visually and Id feel a pain not knowing what to do and having to ask for
personal training. Facebook is something Ive always found not worth stumbling through all the crap it chucks on the screen, and all the random messages for people about what they had for breakfast. I can see the logic of having it to communicate with people you know who arent present, though Im more a phone or chat by voice myself. Then again I freely admit social media isnt as much my thing, me not being exactly the worlds most social person . Ive got that early adventures series from bf, Ive not heard it yett, Ive heard rumours that they also plan on doing something with the 3rd doctor though that worries me sinse where as Peter Pervis does a pretty convincing first Doctor and Frazer Hines impression of Patric Troughton is positively uncanny, John Pertwees voice is just so distinctive I dont know how you
would ever find someone to replace him. In the 50 th Bf special The light at the end, I didnt find the chap they got too convincing but was willing to overlook for it being an aniversary story that couldnt be done without the third Doctor (and they did reduce his part as compared to the others), however I really dont know about trying it on a more perminant basis. Still as I said Im less unhappy with how Bf got the people who knew the respective actors to pull of the first and second Doctors so the early stuff is likely still to work fine. I am still myself going through the early monthly adventures and [[wow]], many are so much better, especially than fans regard them to be. In particular I always thought Zagreus and the hole divergent universe arc gets an unfare battering from fans, sinse yes, whie its far too compressed sinse Nick Brigs ended it sooner than planned given that he wanted the 8th Doctor back somewhere familiar to appeal to
fans of the new Who series that was just starting at the time, I still think its a great story. The Doctor, Charley and Criz in an entirely different! universe! with no daleks, no cybermen and no time. I also disagree with people who say that the 8th Doctor Charley romance became unlikeable, sinse hay sometimes you tell someone you love them and it doesnt work (like everytime I have for example), and the consequences are bad, and after all being as The 8th Doctor had just been possessed by Anti time, had the very nasty Rassilon attempt to make im into his personal assassin and was feeling quite justifyably pissed off with the Timelords and life in general its quite reasonable this wouldnt work out, heck I like the way the consequences are dealt with in Scherzo and then Charley and the Doctor can go back to being friends and companions.

Re: Monthly chat November

I had no idea that Audio Defense was available in the App Store now. I guess I should go take a look. Im sure it is an excellent game. Ive yet to be unimpressed by a game made by that company (Im not quite sure what they call themselves, since I believe that a couple of their games in the App Store are listed under different developers, but I cant say for sure). Ive been working on quite a few projects lately that I am trying to force myself to complete so that I will be able to finally release them to the public. I am surprised but at the same time pleased at the rapid release of Audio Games lately and it somewhat motivates me to join the pot of New Releases. As for the discussion about synths and Audio Books, I used to never listen to Audio Books using a synth, until a friend pointed out to me one day how large human narrated audio books are. I had realized that human narrated audio books could take up quite a bit of electronic space, but I didn
9;t know exactly how many more Ebooks I could fit on a flashdrive than Human Narrated books. I began to listen to books using synth speech, and I have gotten used to it for the most part. I definitely enjoy the concept of this experiment, and I didnt even know of its existence, and would have passed it up if it hadnt been stuck to the top of the page. If this experiment continues, I would prefer it to stick to the top of the page, so that it wouldnt become buried underneath many topics and pushed to a different page where it could be hard to find. Just my opinion...

@Pitermach, that is a fare question and yes I confess I did bend the rules at first. the problem is sinse then weve had a couple of people who have tried to pass around still available games who sighted that as an example, Well you let people post links to this I dont want the rules to seem arbitrary and I dont want to risk present developers who need the game sales being hard done to.I wont delete the above topic or start handing out moderations to anyone who passed copies of the game around, but as I said this is a genuine case where Im not sure what the best thing is to do for the community, sinse on the one hand as I said I certainly dont want the Bsc games to vanish forever, however on the other I dot want people to start using this forum for things they shouldnt, irrispective of Justin or the legal status of things.Heck, even with code factory it turns out some of the games were still on sale at
one point, though I believe this was a back catalogue of stock being sold by a general vender not directly sold from Code factory themselves.

You could use something like this:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/165 … _voice.bgtThat versions from 2011, though.The version in here is newer, but has a (unfinished) word_speaker feature that in practice means it requires some of the other includes:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/165 … cludes.zipOr you could use someone elses. Speech_manager is one, I think.Or, you could just do this:tts_voice voice;

if(screen_reader_is_running(i)) {
if(screen_reader_speak(i, text)) return;

New gamebook on ffproject, Shadow in the north

New gamebook on ffproject, Shadow in the north

The Fighting fantasy project have a new one. Where their last new gamebook was definitely an ameter affair and quite the gore fest, this one is altogether different, indeed it seems absolutely huge! about 1000 sections or so I believe. You play a sorcerer traveling into a chaotic north land in a Fantasy kingdom trying to restore the worlds magic. Dont be fooled by how short the introduction is, this one is a really major book, as long and complex as Diamond key, with really great fantasy writing, need to manage food and gold and some very interesting mechanics. One thing I particularly like is while you have a sword and the standard combat, youve also got a number of spells to use, the spells are quite unique and you need to read their descriptions carefully sinse they arent all just a one edged sword, the inferno spell for example creates two fireballs in your ha
nds, but they explode with a burst of fire that can be damaging not just to you but to those around you as well (allies included), also using a spell costs you staminer points, meaning you need to be careful with where and when you use them, and also what food youve got to restore staminer. Ive not got that far at the moment, in fact I got killed by robbers, but this is definitely a major one for those who like a really old school fantasy gamebook with evil necromancers, goblins, magic, epic quests and all that other good stuff. Re: "Hunter" and other licences

A couple of things here:First, I didnt know Super Liam was abandonware. I thought that Liam was unwilling to release everything as abandonware because of the many in the past who had bought the games who might be annoyed that everyone else gets them for free now.Im a bit confused, but if there is a fully playable version of Super Liam Id like to have fun with it. Heh.Incidentally, Ive had all kinds of difficulty getting a replacement key for Super Egg Hunt from Liam; does anyone know which inbox he tends to actually respond to?Regarding GMA games, Ive never had any issue when I actually bought their games, but when contacting David Greenwood about getting a key replacement for Shades of Doom, I met another stone wall. He mailed me back once, I responded, and...thats it.Honestly, I think this topic is a pretty strong object lesson. Developers who dont want to support their games anymore would do well to just
release them as abandonware. Sure, there are going to be some ruffled feathers because people actually bought them back in the day, but thats just how it works. Its a lot like someone being annoyed if, say, they have to pay fifty dollars for a good crockpot and see the very same one for a dollar at a yard sale five years later. I couldve saved all that money! But thats the way the world works. Both of these games have been around for a long time, and I think the pros of abandonware outweigh the cons. In the case of L-works, Ive bought both Judgment Day and Super Liam and I can say, for myself at least, that Id love those games to be abandonware; it doesnt bother me that I couldve gotten the games for free by waiting for a long time, because I was happy to support Liam for his work.

Still wondering about the above things, but also now this as well.I have a skill that was supposed to play a sound, shadowstep. But when I used the skill with my king, the shadowstep would play at the same time as the orc commander cursor. Then I removed the sound=shadowstep from my skill file and it still plays whenever any of my units use it. And nope, its not set to be played in their individual unit files. I double checked to make sure because I was sure I didnt set it to do that, and I didnt. Then I used an attack and the orc commander who I was targeting died. Twice. The move had critical_hit_effect death set, is that why? Since the damage was more than enough to kill it anyway because it was almost dead when I used that move?

sansa clip and accessible mp3 players

Okay, as I said in the Itunes topic, Ive had it with Itunes so I believe its now time to make the decision that I thought I was going to have to make when I bought my Iphone 2 years ago and buy a talking mp3 player. Ive gone to http://www.talkingmp3players.com/ (thanks for the link Chris), and have had a listen to their tutorial on the Sansa clip zip. It does look like what I want, a streight mp3 player that interacts with usb and preserves folder structure with no additional cruddy software, hurrah! Ill even forgive the fact that it is named after the most irritating character from game of thrones .However, I do have a few questions, and sinse I believe people own some of these machines I thought Id ask.First, what is this file names thing, and why does the player come with an i
nstallation for a sapi voice? I assumed itd speak out of the box by default. If it uses your sapi voice on computer that is fine (I have a copy of realspeak daniel), however I would like to know how this works, while the introduction was good for showing the initial player, I wonder what the setup is, do you need to install anything? and if so, what?Likewise, what is this file names thing? Sinse I am likely going to be sticking folders onto and taking folders off any mp3 player on a regular basis as I read different books, I dont want this process to be too tortuous, particularly sinse if say I stick a Big finish Doctor who audio on there, there will likely be a hundred or so small files in the one folder (although if the player plays in order by file names sensibly I could just start at the start of the folder and run through). Also, battery life and charging. does the thing have a good long life, sinse I do use the player a lot, heck I carry an audio book
into the bathroom with me while Im cleaning my teeth, and given that Im in the Uk and the players are sold in the Us, what about charging the thing?I also would like to know about this bookmark business, sinse if I turn the player off, will it keep my position in what I am playing or do I need to go creating bookmarks etc.Given that a 64 gb sd card is almost a requirement, how easy are these to install? I do like what I heard thus far, and 150 usd (counting the sd card), would be a reasonable price, indeed Ive been looking for a streight forward mp3 player for my dad so I can lend him audiobooks, but havent yet found one (maybe the none talking version), I just want to be dam sure what Im buying sinse this wouldnt be the first time that access tech has looked better before buying than after, and also because I dont want to buy something to save me from the dreaded Itunes only to find myself in the same complexity fix, o
r that it wont run on xp or some other coblers.
