@Danny, side scroller and 2D essentially mean the same thing, its just that technically most audio games like Superliam and Q9 have actually been 1D side scrollers not 2D ones. Ill certainly explain all the game mechanics when I get around to writing an entry for Deathmatch a new beginning as I have on the page for project alpha.

@Darkmaster, feel free to create new topics, its often a better iea, indeed sometimes I dont know why people carry on with the massive topics in new releases as opposed to create new ones for specific questions, it makes them much more noticeable (really there is no shortage of new topics). For anyone stuck with the generalized layout of paladin of the sky, there is a very good overview in the instruction manual that tells you about the residential areas, the flight tdechs, the wings and the key locations which is a nice basis from which to start exploring.@audiogames.net fann, that part in the wing is a little confusing. You need to go up to wing 2 to find the person you need for the quest who will then tell you where to go from there. I agree with Cae that a lot of the game is rather ridiculously large, I wouldve liked at least a Have I visited here before key to be a bit more specific and mean your not always wall h
 ugging, either that or a key for coordinates sinse the tone wall system can only provide so much information. Descriptions of the areas would be nice too both for atmosphere and general info (ditto with enemies), still I do enjoy paladin of the sky for having such a good go at a console rpg albeit I hope vgstorms next project will expan upon it somewhat, and that Paladin itself will get a few more updates.

@Niclas, well, what counts as interactive fiction is indeed something of a thorny devate, and one weve had on this forum before, sinse you are correct gamebooks are technically interactive fiction in that they are stories that a person can interact with, and several gamebook authors (like the webmaster of chronicles of Arborell), do quite legitimately call what they do interactive fiction To make peoples lives in the db easier, I use the term interactive fiction for games like Hadean lands, Zork etc, ie, the stuff that has a parser and works on puzzles with commands, and the term gamebooks for stuff where you make choices about what happens in the story. Can you give me the link to Delight games website? Ive not heard of them on Applevis, but if they are available for Ios Id like to give them a try, they also will be good for the db as well, albeit my gamebook plans for the immediate future are t

Well ghost rider, again the problem with games is the old one, just because a person has a good idea in writing doesnt mean it is a good idea for a game. Im afraid I also have a miner problem with the character, albeit youve described him well. this is my problem with most super heroes, hes too invincible! Hes a genius, and a marxman, and a martial artist, an a rich man with gadgits, and smoke bombs, and ninja assassination, and he has a cool devil mask, and he is a loner. This sort of character just doesnt interest me because hes not human or real enough for me to connect with. To take an example, in our recent rp game that finished, which was the super hero tabletop rp version of Dungeons and Dragons called mutants and masterminds, I played a character called Silver Knight, (real name samual king). The idea behind the character was basically Who would be the worst person possible to pickup a battle suit
 uot; Samual was actually a concert pianist, fairly intelligent (in DD terms his int started as 16, though increased to 18 later, albeit in the mutants rule set humans can achieve super human stats by raising attributes as high as 24). however not particularly wise or experienced, rather shy and with a knack for getting things wrong. The suit as it turned out had its own personality, as well as a lot of its own motivation and weaponry which Samual didnt know about, (it also developed more weapons on its own), and Samual and the suit (which he called Xn), had some interesting debates,Samual joined the super hero team known as Hope, in Freedom city, an became the groups main tank as well as principle fighter. I tried however to maintain the idea that Samual was always not sure of what exactly was going on, indeed later it transpired that the battlesuit was an ancient egyptian magical device, and Samual himself started to dev
 elop magical powers outside the suit (which again he cause some major disasters with by missunderstanding, on one occasion he turned one principle bad guy into a T rex). What I found interesting however was someone very human in an inhuman situation, having to cope with things that he didnt expect, and given that our gm had our game run everywhere from the depths of space to the fairy realm and Cammelot, we definitely got lots of that, I also enjoyed playing a character whos principle strength was thinking on his feet and coming up with ideas quickly, albeit they werent necessarily all good ones and Samual himself wasnt great at deciding the goo from the bad. This particularly worked sinse our gm had a liking of hurling really tough enemies at the party (we never fought mooks), and then seeing how we dealt with them in creative ways. This made for very tense rp sessions, but a great way to develop a characters skills at improvising. I
 ;ll also give our Gm credit in that even though Super heroes are not my thing, he managed to create a very eep and interesting world with multiple dimentions, Gods, magic and super science and a coherent order that we found out more about. His bad guy, who we finally defeated in the last session was particularly notable, a trans dimentional cooperative of super scientists working together to bring so called order! to the multiverse, just unfortunately doing a lot of shady things to get that done.The game finally finished with Samual having revived the order of guardians becoming the worlds official guardian of magic and staying a hero, and the battle suits ai and Samual himself admitting that they could work together as friends. What Im getting at however is that this was fun because I tried to make Samual an inherently flawed character, indeed all our group had their issues, from an Angel who had no idea how mst of the modern world worked
  an by angelic protocol wasnt allowed to take direct action but only support the actions of mortals (he had a very interesting romance with a fallen angel). We then had the avatar of a sungod who had a split personality due to her soul being used to contain a dark mage, a fairy mentalist whod fled Arcadia as a child, and a super scientist who was from Earth pulp a realm where technology was a little more steam punky. As I said, credit to our gm for making such a diverse and interesting world, indeed one with ridiculous levels of complexity! .

Well, I dont believe the Impasse has changed here, sinse I still intrinsically dont see open parser as anymore inherently beautiful and likely Sebby does not agree with my functionalist control approach . However, this is just to say that Hadean lands now has a db page. Whatever my personal feelings on Parser, I do think it is important to highlight a genre of games which is so inherently accessible and support those developers working in it who want reasonable financial compensation for their work, (note the word reasonable! here Mallinche). This is why if interpreters have pages and links to the correct indexes of the If archive for their format, and why commercial if games need entries. if anyone can think of anymore accessible commercial if (I believe Scot adams did something at one point), let me know.
 Ill also likely give Hadean lands a try at some point myself (sinse for 5 usd why not), albeit I am currently on a big choiceofgames kick.

Hello everyone. So, Im guessing your wondering why I just dont develop it myself. Its because Ive tried developing but its never caught on. Ive tried, and I cant latch onto the concept. It just utterly confuses me, even more than algebra does. Anyways, to address some of the things stated here. CAE, I actually was going for the Batman arkham look, thats why there is so much resemblance. Tward, heres some answers to those questions. Id like it to be an action game, 3d or 2d with platforms such as roofs, cars, etc. whatever is more up to the developers speed. Id prefer it to be 3D, but I suppose its the developers choice. Itd be a windows game, for sure. The screen reader output would probably work for smoother gameplay as SAPI tends to delay. Heres some other details. I think if its going to be 3D, the turning system as used in such games as RTR, ZST and Swamp would be the best, as fighting in a grid pattern is challenging, as shown i
 n such games as Operation black Square and in older versions of Death Match. Ill think of other things, for now, off to school.

It would be nice to have this fixed.2: Its maybe just me, but it sounds like NVDA doesnt read the punktuation like periode, comma an other characters correctly, which resault in reading messages without pauses.3: It would be very helpful for me at leased, if all the text could be displayed at the titlebar at the window, so you could press insert t twice to get the message spelled like names, planets and such, and insert t 3 times to have it copied to the clipboard.Flying the ship:1: It would be nice if you got an announcement when you have reached the distination while using the autopilot.Walking in the game:1: It would be great if the object scanner (D key) also would detect the doors. I find it extremely difficult to navigate the areas, bec
 ause it seems as you need to know where the doors are placed.2: The negative coordinates, does they mean you are out in a place where you shouldnt go? Sorry, I find those confusing but thats just me.3: The big ship with multiple floors: I find this ship nearly impossible to navigate. I wish there was a way of locking the ship with a key so other players dont take your ship, but I think thatll come in the nearest future. I really like that this is not just a ship flying simulator, but you can also walk around everywhere with your character and explore it all. I really see the fantastic future in this project. I dont know how, but it would be so damn cool, if there was a way to help with buildings on the planets like shops, houses, cities and other things. It would take a while for the team behind this project to make all this, so it would be cool if there was a way for the players to help building on the project. How? I have no idea. Ground combat with
  aliens would also be damn cool. Well, I said I would wait with my suggestions, but I couldnt stop typing... Keep up the awesome work guys. I look very much forward to play some more, and I so excited for the future regarding to this project.

Keep in mind that if your fan speed is going up, its probably doing it for a reason. Entombed, as I recall, was not exactly processor friendly, and it does not take much to make a laptop want to cool off. If when you first turn the machine on the fan is not at full blast, then its operating properly. Its important to remember that a laptop processor can go over the boiling point; you really dont want to turn the fan down unless you know for an absolute certainty its not because of the machine simply heating up as it works. If you do mess with it and your chip overheats, youre running a risk of damaging the computer (I have heard of processors literally melting themselves into the motherboard).

@audiogames.net fan, no z coordinate would be necessary, sinse the maps are 2D, though some are connected by stares to multiple floors. I think the developer has said he doesnt want exploring to be too easy, but even if he feelscoordinates would give the game away slightly too much I think a have I visited here before key might help a lot, also I do wish there was more by way of description in the game for what the various areas are like. @Brad, beware! spoilage ahoy for those who havent finished the second dungeon! Hell is not fun, though that is sort of the point . As i remember the route involves going up to the top, then going to the right, and then down, however keep exploring and youll make it, (the second place you go after hell is Im afraid rather worse for getting lost). Just keep going and dont give up, at least
  youll gain lots of levels while wandering, which is sort of part of the game in a way.

Hello everyone,I have 2 external drives. On one drive I have 4 TB of data. Hay Rachel, Ive almost gotten to the end of the content in the latest version of Braillemon, and have found a few buggs.On route 6 the trainers dont say anything if you talk to them after you beet them.The sound cuts out during mt moon. Hi.As the topic states, I want to know if anyone can recommend an accessible android app that will allow me to view the file system of my Nexus 7 wirelessly. This is similar to open ssh for jailbroken iOS devices.The reason I want something like this is because I dont like using Windowsj ust to plug my Nexus 7 in via USB. So, if anyone can recommend a good ssh or ftp program for Android, that would be great as I want to be able to view my Android file system wirelessly and from my Mac using something like Cyberduck.

Im pretty sure most of us realize Charisma would affect mob aggression sooner or later. its not something we overlook. In fact, charisma limited uses in stuff not related to the main grind of combat is why it was mostly overlooked. Besides not getting hit, charisma didnt do much once something decided to punch your face in. And to avoid combat, high level thieves also have the option of sneak and stealthy, which are far more effective than leaving it up if the mob respects charisma or not. (Which I find not be true in some cases...ow) Eh but Im just rambling. I still think charisma is as useless in the main grind of the game as before, now it just forces us to grind it to be able to cast some of our cleric stuff and made being a cleric a lot more unappealing with having to grind a stat that has no obvious benefit from letting you cast the spells you need to cast.

Hello,Not to burst the bubble or anything, but well, I dont know about this.Based on how this looks, Im affraid this doesnt click with me. After what happened with Klango as well, and all the other social networking sites, Im not really sure if this shows promise. Ill give it a chance perhaps, but at the same time, Id rather stick with my mainstream social networks. Lets face it, the audiogames forum is perfect for socializing with the blind community really, because most others, well, lets just say they leave much to be desired. This here, is a community of people who know what theyre talking about, who are switched on to issues, while the rest seem to be getting dragged behind no matter how much we try and help.

oh yes to make floppy disk images you will need BFI get it here or google search BFI floppy. http://ftp.rz.tu-bs.de/pub/mirror/www.n … /bfi10.zip and then mount your floppy images into the vm so you can install other dos screen readers and stuff. now does anyone have an old copy of megaDots from 1994 or so?

I think the real trouble with the 3D third person as seen in Blacksquare and JFIMA is still present in Swamp; the ability to turn just takes care of the most extreme cases.Its the fact that were using volume for Z distance, and its much harder to distinguish volume with tile precision than it is pan or pitch.The ability to turn helps in the sense that we can at least turn everything int a head-on case, but were also fighting with ranged weapons and only an accuracy penalty if we miss with melee. Its still true that sighted players in Swamp can out-axe blind players, and I think thats for the same reason 3rd person 3D hasnt caught on so well in audio.This brings me back to the example of Spider-man and Venom: Maximum Carnage.Its a 16bit-era partial 3D brawler, kinda like Streets of Rage and Final Fight, except youre playing as Spider-man (and sometimes Venom), so theres plenty of wall-crawling and 
 web-slinging and throwing dumpsters at people.I bring it up because it manages to give off the feel of at least a little freedom in each dimension, but Im pretty sure that, internally, its all coded as 2D. You can fight in the streets, where its a side-scroller with some depth, but you can climb on any buildings in the background, do all sorts of things with webs, etc. There are levels where you need to climb/swing up paired skyscrapers (while someone is trying to blast you off), ending in a rooftop battle (one of these has a water tower you can knock loose and throw at the boss!). There are breakable windows you can use to access secret rooms, and if you time it just right, you can drop from above, land precisely between two enemies, and grab them both with a different web and bash their heads together.And since most of the fighting happens on the X-Z plane, and most of the climbing happens on the X-Y plane, but theres only one background and one
  floor, it can still feel 3D even though everything is as flat as can be.But with 3D libraries today, that sort of thing might not be quite so worth it, compared to just building a true 3D world.(Im also getting to the point where Im favoring using pitch unrealistically to indicate 3D positioning, just because itd be so much easier to get the sort of precision video games can expect. But thats a whole other topic. Unless you want to use a target-tracker that does pitch; IIRC, Arkham Asylum does something similar but visual, never mind the convenient system that Assassins Creed uses.)All of which is to say: if proper 3D is too hard, we dont *have* to resort to completely flat.

Hi dark, ah okay. I think in this case, gamebooks are more similar to point and click adventures, only without grafics and audio. They feld like this to me. Anyway, i like them since how much of the story you can control and change and how you do it depends on the gamebooks and theier authors. I heart from someone else, that some of the games from choiceofgames give you more possibilities and control then the delight games. Would be interested in your opinion when you tryed them out. Since I have nothing going on for the rest of the year and the weather is crappy, I decided to give this a try.Seems cool, but Im a little confused on the in character vs out of character chat. Honestly, I think people are just going to chat in whatever channel is easiest to reach, which, is the in character chat, from what I can gather.Also, is there a map of the planets and other things created? Or do you just have to be told where to go, and wait?Seems a cool game, but its a lot to take in. Ill do my best to play alongside the other pilots.Btw, being Im an rc pilot, Im slightly hurt that you dont have to trim your ship, lol.Trimming is the art of making an aircraft stay steady in the air, by the way.

Not sure how I can be any more specific. coding isnt my strongpoint, but perhaps it could be practically worked from the same server the game itself runs on... the game checks for updates every time you start it and connect to the server. Right now as it stands, you have to download the whole game setup file and pretty much reinstall the game. What many of the Japanese audiogames, particularly Bokurano Daibouken has done is to have the game download all the relevant changes and files to your system automatically, which takes about 5 seconds and doesnt require you to download the whole game again. Just thought that may be possible.

Again another concept that I think BK 3 did well... usually volume instead of pitch for things that are above or below you. and while this doesnt tell you exactly whether an object or enemy is above or below you, it isnt that hard to work that out in proportion to where you yourself are standing, or if there was a height coordinate system and an field / object viewer like exists in that game where you can look through a list and see where everything is in relevance to yourself with beeps to indicate whether something is on the same height, below or above you, and what coordinates they are at as well as hp and the like. And I actually think for straight Melee the black square and JFIMA would actually not be that bad of an idea. Sure youd only have four angles of attack on the x axis but you could also have quicker turns with control and an arrow key to turn to any of the points between cardinal directions which basically makes it a circular radius for attack. You 
 wouldnt necessarily have to have that kind of degree and stationary based turning seen in swamp and rtr. Resident Evil was prbably the most well known for that style of turning.. and thats been phased out since forever ago. lol

I have something on tthis to.I was not going to mention this and I really shouldnt since I really shouldnt be online at all today but I am checking quickly.Firstly ethin, is it just possible that you could have all the files uploaded to a server and just have the thing update the game that way, or do what mtg has done and download the complete setup again though that would be a bit pointless.Updating incrementally would be the best idea but you would have to have the game uncompressed somewhere or something and just download required files.Vlad I dont know what to say to you.To put it in extremely polite terms, I dont believe you.You have asked endless questions and other stuff, have annoyed danny on several occasions as has been posted in the private test comments all of us at reality software have access to.You now destroy a planet spaciffically stated not to destroy.I know its easy to mess up and ethin has

The sound cuts out in Rock Tunnel as well. Just saying. And why isnt there a footstep sound for caves that sounds like youre walking around in a cave instead of on grass? There is a special sound for inside buildings, so why not in caves? And why does walking on the safe part of a route sound like youre walking on grass while the tall grass sounds like youre walking on concrete, sort of? Just curious.I would kinda like it if say, the TMs and HMs were all sorted into blocks automatically. As it is, my item list is organised by when I acquired what, and my TMs and HMs, as well as my Old Rod and other such things, are all mixed up together. Id like it if things like that were in their own sections so I didnt have to scroll through a jumbled list trying to find everything.

accessible trading card rpgs on IOS?

Hi gang. So Ive been looking for something else to play on IOS other than action games that have immersive audio and fun gameplay. I have nothing against text adventures... they just really arent my type of thing, eve nthough I love some of the story and plots. Wondering if anyone knows of any other games similar to the card trading rpgs like Ayakashi or legend of the cryptids that are accessible? Applevis seems to mostly have word and puzzle games, and Im looking for a breath of fresh air after trying out most of them. Sadly, many of the games listed there like reign of dragons and galaxy heroes dont seem to be available anymore. anyone got any recommendations?

I was thinking this though. If the game was side scrolling I thought itd be kinda like how it worked in jla, Cae, but with, forgive me if this is a bit rude, smoother. For example. Your right in front of an enmy and you press space you charge forward into them even if there further in the Z plain and another thing, I was thinking for example left control is your left foot, right your right foot, and maybe g and h are your fists, left and right respectively. There could be a headbutt attack maybe, and that could be y, but it could also stun you as well as doing massive damage. And maybe a grappling system... Sorry Im getting ahead of myself but Im kinda excited to see if anyone actually feels like making this..

You have to consider what type of rush you want... personally I think that would be better executed with two taps of the direction you want to dash in plus an attack button. I like your idea of having feet and fists controllable, similar to tekken... but I would suggest a, s, z and x as better keys for that because they are closer together. Headbuts and grappling can be special techniques executed with different button combinations. And the other issue is, with training in various martial arts, as you have suggested... you need to do some research into what that actually looks like. You should have techniques representative of those various arts, not just generic punches and kicks though those may also be another option. Like key said above, you have to do more than throw ideas out there... you have to get very detailed with what you want, down to the specific moves. What are the default actions of the buttons controlling your feet and your fist? do you want a combo system? What k
 ind of physics should your moves have? that is all part of the design... and one that Ive planned out for years. but like you, Im not a developer... but Ive had a design for an action game floating around in my head for a long time with almost the entire gameplay system mapped out.

To be honest comparing catch 52 to Audio defense sounds a little unreasonable, sinse Audio efense is sort of the extreme! of quality intended for quite long and in depth play where as this sounds like a short reflex affair to kill minute or two. I actually was in two mins whether to classify audio defense as arcade or action in the db, (in the end I decided on arcade given the endless mode, but it did give me pause for thought). As I said, before giving phone space to this Id appreciate hearing a recording or similar to give me an idea of how hard the game actually is. if it is something that I will essentially master in a few plays, then just requires repetitive action to unlock achivements etc, or it is something whos only appeal is speed of reaction then likely not. If however it requires sufficient thought and judgement to provide a quick challenge each time then that might be another matter. Then again, even if I do! only play the thing f
 or ten minutes, well hay 69 P is hardly going to rupture my bank!

Ive renewed my membership again, since without it theres really no point as most content, if not all, he adds for AG members only.However, when I learned I had to have 1000 ATs for Quickstones, an item that ive never had, is something I want and have the gold at least to get it now, it just put me off from playing. I actually stopped at the beginning of the Pumpkin Patch maze a few years ago, logged back in about a month ago and just completed it.How much money would I need to donate to get 1000 AT? I had just logged in and renewed right after this annoying change was implemented.Also, regarding new content, is he adding perm content? It seems like the Festable of Blades goes on every year, and the test in which to complete it, but I have yet to see a post which reffrences new perminent adventures that will be in the game long term.As Ive bairly completed a lot of the game it doesnt matter much to me, but when people talk about

I think Dannys reaction here was fairest, confining the discussion to the problem, and his reaction as maintainer of the game without getting personal sinse that way leads to flame wars and complications. @Vlad, you have not yourself caused problems on this forum, however, in disrupting the progression of such a major game as Deathmatch new beginning you do! affect the progress of audio games, so this is a warning. When you play a game setup by someone else, and run from their server, show respect for their work and for other users of the game. We dont want another Swamp hack situation on our hands, and obviously the more time developers have to spend patching the damage caused by these sorts of

Hello,On one hand, the mechanics are kind of easy and its sort of easy to master, but on the other hand, Its definitely harder than it looks to go achievement hunting on this one. To get the achievements you have to catch all the cards (read: one miss and the achievement is lost) and so you have to be concentrating quite a bit. There are also score milestones that you can get. Basically, catch all of the cards in the different game types (which is chosen each time you start at random, but you are told which one, but its still luck of the draw) on each difficulty, plus three scoring achievements, makes eleven in total.

Hi Niclas. Ill check the delight stuff and see, I enjoy gamebooks anyway, though im surprised if havent heard of these beofre. I wouldnt personally say that gamebooks are much like the graphic aventures (the point and click kind). The graphic adventures were most similar to things like inquisitor, chillingham or descent into madness, ie, you select an object, then an action, then possibly another action. Eg, you select the box and select open or select the match, click light and then click canon. Ive actually considered creating a new genre category on the db, audio adventures just for games of this type. Gamebooks Id say are moredirect in choices than objects, so instead of selecting an object, and a command and sometimes a second, you just select what you want to do, eg Do you want to fire the canon or draw your sword most have stats, usually stuff like strength and hp, though the choiceofgames ones
  take a different direction with the percentage bars,some also have dice mechanics too like those on ffproject. what imho distinguishes a gamebook from a parser or object if game however is whether it has objects and commands or just choices about what you do.

Stella Young who is giving the talk and died about two weeks ago related to her disability. She suffered from osteogenesis imperfecta also known as brittle bone disease, had a deformed body due to the deformation of her bones and was therefore bound to a wheelchair.You can find the listen to the video here: YouTubeId be interested to hear what you think about the following two topics related to the video:1. Do you feel the same way as her that living with a disability is not an achievement in its own right and doesnt make you exceptional?2.  look your real achievements and solely focus on the no seeing thing?I have to say I am guilty of this behavior as outlined in the video but I dont feel particularly guilty about it. Every single person that ever lived had problems of some sort. Looking to other people who have been dealt a worse hand of cards and get by with it seemingly fine makes me reevaluate my own situation with the predictable conclusion of it could be worse and feeling better about my life. I see nothing wrong with that as long as you dont let these thoughts change the way you treat and interact with disabled people. Mankind is a social animal and comparisons between ourselves and other individuals is second nature to us. It drives and compels us. I would even argue that disabled people have their own inspirational spam when comparing themselves to the more severely impeded. Do you agree or disagree?

I almost said JLA but smoother inn all of my posts, so no worries. The engine I used there was designed more for jumping off buildings, and did not translate well for the Arkham Island level (which was supposed to invoke as many elements from the Arkham Asylum game as I could pull off. Have you ever successfully pulled a statue onto someone in that level? If no, then I need say nothing more about how I failed.  ).Ive actually been imagining something somewhere between JLA and BK3 this entire time, other than those moments where I try to think about full 3D.Regarding controls: If its practical to make key configuration adjustable, then Id recommend allowing it. Really, that should probably be standard practice for any game that needs to use more than two letter keys for a decent configuration, and this sounds like just such a game.

Ghost Rider, I find myself agreeing a lot with Darks post above. Not only is Stygian a fairly close likeness to Batman I cant find any obvious vulnerabilities or weaknesses in his character mentally or physically. Its a common enough problem in the superhero genre and one that needs to be considered before creating a superhero game, book, or anything else.In reality what we are talking about is people. People are flawed, have weaknesses, even if they arent always obvious on the surface. Even so they have them and it helps to flesh this out early on when creating your characters.For example, there is a TV show called Monk. Adrian Monk is a private investigator and while he is very good at solving cases, figuring out who committed the crime, etc he has one very unusual character flaw. He is afraid of germs and obsessively tries to avoid getting dirty or germs on him which leads to some comical situations. It isnt one of those things that is obvi
 ous about him, but it could be considered a weakness, a character flaw, something that would make him less than perfect as a crime fighter.The point Im getting at is if you look around at books, TV shows, movies, and games the most believable characters are often those who are less than perfect. They have fears, a minor physical disability, or something else that makes them human enough. However, the hero somehow finds a way to overcome that particular issue to fight crime and do what he or she needs to do. Im not talking about anything as obvious as the superhero being blind like Daredevil but minor mental or physical traits that makes the character slightly imperfect in some way. It can be something as exotic as Adrian Monks fear of germs or something as common as Indiana Jones fear of snakes. Whatever you decide your characters weaknesses should be they are there to humanize the character.

Hello.Ive finally installed windows 8.1 and played the space themed games, Ive decided space games arent for me, but thats not why I made this topic.NO. I made it to tell you about an awesome IOS app I got called KNFB reader.Its a bit pricey, being priced at $100, thats £75 over here in the UK.IF you dont know, its a reading app aimed at the blind. Point, take a picture and KNFB reader starts reading to you.Why do I think this app is the most awesomest app apart from Tap tap see, that is on my Iphone? Well, Wen installing windows 8.1 with my dad, the download got to %85 and my dad went home. Once windows had restarted, I didnt know what to do.Narrator wasnt working, NVDA wasnt working, oh yeah, i bought KNFB raeder, hmm i wonder... i wonder...Oh go on, try it, I thought and I did. IF youre thinking I went downstairs, took a picture of some chicken, cooked it and ate it, youd well, be wrong, Id have liked to, but nooo, windows had to go and get its self installed didnt it? What do you mean I installed it, Id never do such a thing as that, well okay maybe... Anyway what did I actually do? I took a picture of my laptops screen and guess what? No text detected... Let me get this strait, you wrote all that just to tell us it didnt detect the text? Yes, yes I did. Great isnt it? I did try again, you want to here about that? OK well I took another picture, keeping the phone quite a bit away from the laptop this time, and it said, downloading files %46! I was shocked. SO I tried again, it worked. I phoned my dad, telling him how awesome this is. I tried again after it restarted and it worked fine. I phoned my friend amin, A.K.A Bashue, telling him how awesome this was and tried one more time and yep, you guessed it, went down stairs to eat chicken. OH alright, I didnt but Im going to now, and yes it did work the last time.What Im saying is, KNFB can read computer screens. Did I have to put all my horrible humor in there? Yep, did you have to read it, yep, why? cause I have mind controlling powers. but only on Mondays, Thursdays and every other Saturday, it kind of sucks but oh well, what can you do.

First off King of dragon pass! youve probably played it already, but if not, do so! Star traders rpg is also great, and the sequel is coming out soon, though Im personally still waiting on one final access fix for that one. both of those fall into the rpg genre, though arent text games in the way that say interactive fiction, or as far as Ios goes the choiceofgames are text games (much as I really like choiceofgames), they have sfx and music (kodp has great music), although most of what you will hear will be vo. A dark room and the Ensign Id highly recommend if you like rpgs. aGain, not sure whether youd call these text games or not, sinse while the main interface is txt theyre not interactive stories, you explore the world, battle creatures, and find out more about the setting, they hae a wonderful minimal feel that makes you really get the lonely ethos, oh, and if you think A dark room is initially to
 o easy, first try on hard mode, then start of with the Ensign and youll know the meaning of crushing difficulty! .Solara is always worth a go, particularly for the great descriptions and rewards. while a more casual form of mmorpg, I love the time and trouble the devs put into describing even the artwork so you get an impression of the commic nature of the game. There is then lords and knights and Celtic tribe,s which are pvp mmorpgs with a real competitive bent. not my thing, but very accessible.Ccgs are something of another matter. Dreamquest is a mix of rpg and trading card game, but is still in the well hopefully access fixes will happen category, though would be awsome if they did. Depending upon what you mean by accessiblethere are several games made with the same engine as ayakashi and legend of the cryptids. These 
 are playable, but the screens and labels are a little too haphazard to make vo play really viable, there are sections where you need to poke and hope. In the same vane, there are the haypy monster games, though prepare for frustration and a lot of loopy labels, plus the occasional need to turn off vo and poke around, especially in the rather crazy real time battles. As I said, playable just about with enough patience and time, accessible probably not.Hth.

@Wyvern, Im afraid I do slightly agree, it is a bit of a pest that I now need to level charisma just to get the spells back I previously got with int, but without the bennifit of more mana.maybe however more bennifits could be added to charisma in the future, especially if more types of npc interaction and jobs come into the game, eg, more charismatic charcters get more reward for jobs or greater selections, or maybe more charismatic characters could have the practice cost to learn reduced when practicing with a master, (now that would be a major! plus for the stat).
