Im just reporting what Brian says in his response to the NVDA question, he apparently doesnt know about these closed source add ons.Besides its interaction with it, the only other reason why Leasey requires JAWS that I can see is because Leasey is written in its scripting language. If an NVDA version of Leasey were produced, I seriously doubt that it would require JAWS.Since I am a JAWS user, I have very little interest in an NVDA version, so I wouldnt be the best choice for someone to contact Brian about it.  With people posting remarks like this, I can understand Brians comments about he and Phil recieving hate mail, or maybe this is a clue to where it is coming from.Unless people with these kinds of sentiments create them, I seriously doubt thatHartgen will have any problems that come from this move.

Besides you cant buy the game itself. It comes as part of the Leasy package which you have to be a Flaws user to buy. I can only hope this causes problems for Mr. Hard Gin and that as a esult of said problems he sees sense. But I agree with what someone over on Audyssey recently said, which is that a non gamer should not attempt to sell a game.

Thats right, that does get released tomorrow. I plan to grab the .ISO image and my key, but just store them for now. Ill upgrade when Windows needs reinstalling.Id do the reformat anyway, Ive never believed in upgrading an operating system, its better to do a clean install.

the randomness of sound you guys want in?

So guys, I am going to release this thing that might be slightly adicting, just for laughs and fun, and you have to have imagination to get fun out of it. Basicly it is this game whare if you throw an object, the object that it hits breaks. It is called the randomness of sound because it gets the sounds it uses from items in the sounds folder. Hey eloquence, Im going to throw you at this mall and the mall goes by by. It might sceme borring but depending on whats submitted I will explain below, this thing could get rather funny. Its simply that you can add litterily anything and have loads of fun. Lets throw person 2 at person 1, then take a football and throw it at person 2, oh, heres a big rock, lets throw it at a building, heres a pare of earbuds, lets throw it in this guys face, etc. Its not all that fun but like I said with an amagination and if your board and wanna just have something fun this will still be here. So why 1, is th

Well, because I wanted you guys who are intrested in this to post your own and send it. Basicly what happens is there is objects on the map. So you go and pick up an object, and then you throw it at someone. Hmm, I wonder in this little thing what it would be like, to throw a box of nails at a mall. Hmmm... Its all random. The more we submit as a hole comunity here the more eppic this thing can get. It is ment to be as non realistic as possible. So guys, all I am asking for is 5 simple sounds each that if they are good, they will be in the final release. Lets just go pick up this fire alarm and throw it at this person over here... uh, oops... Anyway, if something completely random sounds fun to you guys, you can help by simply making a folder with your object name, and having the fo
 llowing sounds. loop.ogg: When the object is just on the mappickup.ogg: when you pick up your object from the mapthrow.ogg: when you throw the object, this might be the sound of you hurling a car threw the air if your object was a cardestroy.ogg: this is if your object goes and gets ponedhit.ogg: when your object hits another objectAnd guys, litterily anything. A rubber ducky, a computer screen, a person, a concrete slab, litterily anything, that is the point of this. To get as much random junk as we can, and just think of the consept and what ifs, if I throw this object at anything, it will destroy the object I am throwing it at. It can be a bit funny when you think about it. There is a timer that is running for 3 minutes. How much mayham can you cause... in 3 minutes? WEll anyway guys if something as random and rediculis as this is intresting, please submit your objects and most likely they will be in the release. Again this is just

Hi.Im having an issue where where if you go out of the mouses range, the game crashes. I am using a mac with windows eight point one. I can move the mouse around fine, but when it gets to a very high pitch, it crashes. Also Im having issues with stuttering and not being able to find the unit to click on to move it tothe top of the window.

I know i want a huge bfight, but i dont know if itll be just 2 people or an epic battle like daredevil fighting the police force or the rushins in the netflix show in episodes 6 and 13. You can learn a little of chess with the rules, but its one of these games that gets more and more complex the more you play and understand and a lot of the more complex theory wont make sense until you understand the basics. I personally enjoy chess and there was a point I played seriously, though my brother was british blind champion at one stage I just went along for kicks. There are several programs that include chess guides and tutorials. Kchess advanced or elite from arc angles software are still around and possible to buy. The good thing about those is you get how to play chess from the computer as wel as lots of information. Then as a free option there is Bg chess from spoonbill, which has extensive documentation and is of course free. Both of these also come with full graphics so you can play with sighted people, and Kchess even has the ability to save games in a standard format so you can send to people. Shredder is the chess game on
  Ios, Ive not tried it personally but I know it can play to a high standard, though understanding the board with vo could be interesting and I dont know if it teaches you how to play. the big thing with chess as a blind person is understanding the board an the positions of all the pieces. I personally find I cant play with a computerized board I must review square by square sinse I have trouble retaining all the information, I prefer a tactile chess set physically in front of me. Ive tried making the computers moves on a tactile board but it doesnt seem to work out, or I bodge it up somewhere along the line, so personally i prefer playing a human with a physical board. That being said, your milage may vary, I do know people who play quite successfully just using a program. Id recommend personally finding a human to play against, maybe at a chess club or whatever or just trying a friend to learn the game, if not possible, then t
 ry getting BG chess challenge from spoonbill or trying one of the free Kchess games, both of which as I said will give you how to play information (though rather more comprehensive info on the Kchess program), and getting stuck in.Hth. As a rough guide,Ill try and give a summary of the basic rules. Each player takes a turn to move (white goes first), and moves one piece each turn. Each player has 16 pieces. These include 8 pawns, a king, a queen, two knights, two bishops and two rooks (also called castles). At the beginning of the game, the pawns are on the second rank, the peaces on the first rank. The two castles are on the outer most squares, then the knights, bishops, and in the center two squares the king and queen, with the king on the left of center (E1 for whites king), and the queen on the right of center (D8 for blacks queen).When you move your peace onto the same square an opponents piece is on, that piece is taken and i

For example, a knight on B1 can move to A3 or C3, the knight is also the only peace on the board that can jump over other peaces, including your own, so where as your castle on A1 couldnt move at all if there was a pawn on A2 in front of it, your knight on B1 can still move to the third rank no matter what is in the way. There are a couple of other special rules about movement but those are the basics. The reason Ive been talking in terms of numbers and letters is that chess board notation works with ranks one to 8, and files a to h like a grid. So A1 is the bottom left hand corner where whites left rook is, A8 holds blacks left rook etc. Usually moves are described with this notation in mind. Youll also notice that sinse black plays facing white, when your playing as black, rank A will be on your right not your left and row 8 will

Under the Compatibility tab try toggling the Disable Display Scaling On High DPI Settings, it seems to clear it up on my end.@bradWell the crashings new, can you try Disabling the Scaling on High DPI Settings and running it in WinXP SP3 Compatibility mode?

Hi.Ok, that seemed to work fine. The only issue with the program is the stuttering.I have a couple things to say:1. It seems you cant move past the giving orders part. i managed to find the item, left click on it, take it all the way to the top, and right click. it seems to drop it back to ware it was. Left clicking does nothing when youve found the unit and are in order mode.2. I dont know about others but I think the building tiles that you click on are way to small. Theyre about a couple cm long? Im not sure.I dont know if its because Im using a track pad with the mac or what, but at the moment; this game is way to fiddley for me.

@bradHmm, looks like im going to have to take a deeper look into that stuttering issue. But on the bright side at least the audios actually working...For the unit, you select it by Left Clicking, and you have to Left Click again to tell it to move somewhere or attack, Right Clicking deselects the unit. Id hoped I could put off reworking the tutorials for a new Demo, but Ill see about fixing that segment right now.Each tile is 32 by 32 pixels which is equivalent to 1 cm, so each building is about a square of 2 or 3 cm each, which is comparable to Sighted RTSs. When it comes to RTS games though ive found using a track pad generally isnt ideal, its a lot more difficult to pan around with and tends to lack percision, although some peoples milage may vary. Trying it with a more traditional corded or wireless mouse may give you a better experience.

There will always be division regardless regarding this decision. If youre a satisfied JAWS user with a Leasey license, congratulations to you. Feel free to feel smug about what you have, but in doing so, remember that the other side is entitled to an opinion, too. For me personally, the most disturbing aspect of this decision is that whoever this Brian person is has no interest in allowing anyone other than a select number of individuals to play the game, which he has the right to do. The world is full of entrepreneurs, people who are absolutely focused on what is best for them and their products rather than what is best for people. In an ideal world that would probably not be the case, but this is not an ideal world.

aaron, from what I understand about the terms of the sale of the rights for Q9, the currently stand alone licenses need to be honored. I would gather that to acomplish this Hartgen would be provided with a list of all the licenses sold, so that someone who lost a key could contact them to have their key sent to them, and possibly even have a new key generated for a new machine if Q9 used hardware based registrations.

Well all of that is a pretty good arguement for keeping my xp machine, sinse all this vmware and boot camp and installations and sighted assistance mallarchy is far harder than,  well just pushing an on button . Im really not interested in running other systems I just like Xp sinse other than browsing the internet its still my preferd system for everything from dvds to media to games, (mostly audiogames and text but some graphical ones in there too which is why I want to keep the big screen), indeed if stupid microsoft just did with xp what they did with 98 and made the upgrade fully compatible with everything previously I would have upgraded Windows long ago. As to my tv, its actually a 40 inch plasma flat screen tv not a standard monitor, which is why I want to keep it, and I like my speakers as they are, indeed in general I
 9;m very happy with xp and what I do with it, Im only getting the mac really for use on the internet. Remember, I have zero, none, nada, absolutely zilcho interest in technology for its own sake. I do not find computers or how they work of interest to me in the slightest, never have. I am only interested in what computers do for me! ie, what I do with them. I actually wish more people took this approach sinse rather than saying well it has seventy nine thousand gigga quods of computery wootery and is ten point five percent faster and going with all that, itd be much better if designers said well what software does it run, what does it do for people, how easy is it to use Then again this topic was about mac questions not an arguement about virtualization, so Id probably better not steer things off track.

Hello,@gean: On the one hand, yes there are those who have purchased the game, and who have keys and such, and as youve said, there are also those who havent purchased the game who will now be annoyed. However, you are missing another point, a third wheel.What happens if someone forgot to back up their key? Yes you can say theyve had long enough to do that, but there are also those who are new to tech, who might not know about backups. The only thing theyll be able to turn to then is piracy, because I do not even know if they have the ability to get new keys for themselves. This is the trouble with this community we rely too much on a name and key system, or even worse, hardware IDs that make it harder to get replacement keys due to developers not responding. Sure, we could take registration names and keys out all together, but if we do that, then what will happen? People will just give out the full version of the product to everyone else.

Just a quick note to Aprone, while I do a little campaign tweaking. Any chance of getting the items youve removed in recent versions of Swamp taken out of the Armorspecs.txt and campaign guide files? For instance, the bike, motorcycle, and football helmets were removed some time ago, but they still appear there, as does the Kevlar vest and several other items. Makes it kinda a pain to have to refer to the changelog to determine which items were removed from the game but are still listed in the docs.

Well as I said in the mac topic, I had an error with Avg on my desktop (actually after just writing my last reply), so have been without a computer. On the plus side this let me catch up with some Cog and Hg games,  well it did until I had the bright idea of replaying Mega man X and then got taken up swaring at evil Reploids for the last two days, I bet my down stairs neighbor is wondering why at 10 pm last night I yelled yeeeas! very loudly after finally! defeating wolf Sygma,  though in fairness I let out similar yells through Sunday and monday after vanquishing some real nasties! aCtually Im pleased to finish the game, its the first time in several years sinse when Ive tried before Id get to something amazingly hard like the annoying ledges at the start of storm Eagles airport or the sigma base first stage really! irritating pit puzzle and end up giving up, so hurrah! I won. Anyway, my Reploid related ro
 botic rambles aside, I did play some Cog and Hg titles. @Sebby, yes, you probably do play the synical ones, I personally tend to go for streight laced nice guys/gals, which is again a bit of a personality thing I suspect. t@Grryf, samurai Hyuga was a lot better when your allies turned up and I did like the rest of the cast, I just didnt appreciate either the Trying to be grim atmosphere, sinse it felt a bit too much some times which is why I likely enjoyed the latter half of the game more than the former, although the ending was a big fat cliffhanger! Beware! spoiling spoilers for Samurai Hyuga. Did Masami get her throat slit by your rival? That was where my game ended, but it felt pretty inevitable, rather than a result of a bad decision particularly sinse it finished on a major cliff hanger as I said. Spoilers end for samurai hyuga).If you enjoyed the characters in Samurai Hyuga I hcan highly recommend Fate haven, Mecha ace
  and probably Zombie exodus. As to games I played, well I finished choice of zombies. I definitely liked the ending, but in general the writing just felt a bit cursery. it was a good choice of games game with lots of different options and paths to choose and I did enjoy weighing my options, but you never really got a sense of the world or zombies or of the other characters as much. I thought zombie exodus on the hole was a better story. i also played Apex patrol which rocked! I love being able to picard my way around the galaxy, and particularly how the choices were ambiguous so you really neded to think carefully. It also has several different story paths which is a nice way around though I liked the one I took particularly sinse I succeeded at mostly everything and got a good ending, not I think the best possible ending sinse I did fail at one task but a bloody good one. The only amusing thing is I think I ended up a gender neutral captain by mistake sinse in on
 e of the early screens I was given the choice of saying call me sir, Call me maam or Thats okay and I went for the third option sinse I didnt want to be yelling at an inexperienced crew, and not realizing that was the gender choice . Beware! Apex patrol spoilers ahoy. I ended up with lots of guts and I spent my ship upgrades on shields and firepower. I went with casida as an evil lady scientist, thinking of the woman with the imortality cure from BAbylon 5 and I have to say the final confrontation rocked! what is cooler than fighting someone with a cutlass and finishing by punting them into a stasis field containing a captive star? I have to say, I was tempted to go for the try to get her to submit option,  but kicking the villain into a star is just so! epic! I imagine her letting out a loud n

(end spoilers for apex patrol).The last game I tried was zombie exodus, which I decided to replay from the start. this time I went with a scientist called Richard Matheson (againn, kudos to anyone who gets the name and reference). Instead of going with the blun force and melee approach which was what I did last time, I went the nice guy and intelligence approach. this was okay until i got to chapter 4 and the section with the monster truck, I even starteda different relationship. I have to say, the characters in Zombie exodus, the interactions with the different survivers and their personalities I really! like, it reminds me of were alive, sinse each person has their own history and little story and ways of interacting. The only miner problem is by mistake I chose a path that lead me to some impossible options in episode 4, the bit with
  the monster truck and I dont know a way out of this so had to restore from my save at the start of episode 4 and will need to play again, and not choose that particularly thing, which is a shame as it was a choice that went with my relationship, however I tried all the options on the monster truck and could succeed with none of them. ill be interested to see if I make it through this time, particularly if i can cure the

Great to here the campaign is going, however as I said id still want a bit more information, sinse right now it sounds like the game is entirely random, though I assume there is some stratogy. Also, I would be interested to know if an electronic version is planned so people can play online against each other, sinse while games for blind and sighted people to play together are a fine idea, finding people to play against could be interesting .If there is a Uk demonstration planned Id appreciate knowing when and where, and hopefully in enough time to get there and see for myself, sinse on the one hand Im very interested in games (obviously), on the other Im not exactly certain on what bennifits this one has in particular over any other adapted board game, but Id be interested to find out.

Ok, Heres some more ideas. If you add the cars, they should be able to go to certain places in the map. Houses, a hospital, weapon stores, a hospital, and a gym. The houses would be for you and the enemies. You would store your stuff there. Of corse, there would be multiple of each type of building. You could take the cars from the enemies that are in them, if any, then select which kind of building you want. It would take you to the nearest building of that type. And, to make it easier, the buildings would not be walkable. They would be menues. Less code. The reason why I said different types of weapon shops is so you have o go to different ones for different types of weapons. And, so you can have a lot of weapons, why not do the same thing swamp does? And with the gym, youd be able to run a treadmill to increase spead, punch a punching bag to increase power, and lifting weights would also allow you to get more power. The way the weights would work, is that you try to
  keep the sound balenced in the center of the sterio field. If your strength is more than the weight of the weight, its slower, therefore easier to lift. If its less, its faster, therefore harder. The punching bag would set you to fists, and it would work like the Woopass games from draconis,. Depending on how heavy your bags weight, that determines how hard it hits you. the hospital would allow you to heal. The house would allow you to sleep. That would let you regain lost health, and energy. There would be shooting ranges to practice shooting, which would make you more powerful with guns. Weapons such as knives, swords, baseball bats, fists, and other bludgens use your main power that is gained from the gym or doing combat with those weapons, over time. There would be different types of vehicles, that have different speeds. There would be compact cars, bikes, motorcycles, medium cars, vans, pickup trucks, 18 wheelers, and busses. The diffe
 rent vehicles have different max speeds, and health. They would also have different max passengers. You shouldnt be able to shoot allies, and allies shouldnt hit you. When at a gym, or shop, if yu have allies, they will do what ever, until iether you leave with them, or they leave by them selves Also, if a car is taken by you, itll have the option to return to your home, which is where you would start when creating a new game. When you first start, you would only have fists, and youd be in a pretty quiet part of the city. You have a bike that you can use to get to somewhere to start killing more people and getting stuff. The only time itd be idling is if someones in it. On second thought, thered be no sound when it is not occupied. Youd have to use your seeing commands. Same with buildings. The vehicle isnt going to bring you inside. Youll have to walk across a parking lott, drive way, or yard, depending on what it is. Also, enter opens a door of a building or vehicle. In the case of bikes and motorcycles, enter makes you sit on them. When you get to where ever you want to go, specified by the GPS unit in the car, or your phone by pressing the d key, only in a vehicle or on a bike or mot
 orcycle. Your phone is what youll have to use when you first start out, because the bike doesnt have a built in GPS unit. Your phone can tell you what places are near you, you will have to press enter to leave the vehicle. The reason why its not automatic, is so allies can get in, if you want them to. When you want them to go somewhere that you are, and you tell certain allies by checking their names or numbers with space, theyll do what ever is necessary to get to that building. You will also be able to specify whether the allie gets in your vehicle, if possible, or goes into the building. This stuff would make it unnecessary to hae a map editor, because you have everything youd need, unless you wanted people to be able to create new cities which would be changed by adding an option in each vehicle to travel to a different city. Guys, Mushclient is the underlying client that MUSHZ is built on top of. I havent examined all of the MUSHZs stuff, but I know it adds scripts and triggers and aliases. Probably plugins and macros too. Its how the sounds are produced, and the config options pop up in a box, MUSHClient has a lot of features and is highly extensible. This is how MUSHZ is possible. But under all the scripts and all that, the client is still MUSHClient. So you can add worlds to it, its as easy as hitting control N and entering a description, an address and a port number and hitting OK, but, some plugins could be global to all worlds, and probably altar is in the open worlds on startup list, so you would want to probably remove that. Also any global plugins designed for MC should probably be disabled, just so you dont get tracebacks. Its possible, Ive done it in the past, but I wouldnt recommend it. Its easier just to go and download the portable mu
 shclient, and put the plugins in there, you need the MUSHreader plugin for sure, without it, MC wont output to the screen reader, you probably want the output functions plugin, so it logs all the mud output to a separate notepad thing a control tab away, and adds a few new functions for getting the last 10 lines and moving up and down without having to control tab.

Well at least 3D positioning here works. The problem is more that there arent enough clues to cover everything yet (and some clues are not exactly in the best locations either). Hello, As for basic VO commands yes, you got some of them, but one thing is not just by using your up and down arrows but yes you can do that to move through folders and such, but if you want to get some more information of what you are navigating around VO up, down, left and right arrows will do the trick. Interacting and stop interacting commands are vary important as it allows you to see whats inside an element of an item. For example, if you are focused on a list and you want to see whats inside that list, you would press VO + shift + down arrow. To stop interacting with that item, press VO + shift + up arrow. If you want keyboard help, press VO + K and escape to get out of keyboard help. Just a note, if you do get a mac, and when you turn VO on, it will ask you if you want to start the voiceover tutorial. That can be a good thing to do because it goes over all of the commands and its interactive as well. If you have any more questions, feel free to let me kn

Oh and just to let you know, the form system works quite well with mac and Id say, a little better than windows sense this new version of Pun PB came out, note that windows, doesnt show you how many posts a user has right after the thread at least, I havent found a way to do so, but mac tens to show a lot more info. Im not sure if its the way that they have created this new version but yeah.

@Techmaster 20, I wouldnt consider virtualization, for one thing its too much hassle, for another I still like my big speakers and 40 inch monitor and dvd drive, all of which id have to give up on a mac, aside from the fact that god knows how virtual windows handles external drives and media and such. I looked at the mac book, but decided against it on the basis both of the fact that desktops tend to be more reliable, and because I dont know what Ill be doing in the future that I might need the mac monitor for sinse goodness knows what will be available online at a later period as regards films etc.. As to the trackpad, thanks that information might be helpful particularly when Im trying vo out. I hadnt particularly thought of using the trackpad for vo gestures but that could be useful at speeding things up, although I suspect that there will still be lots of things Ill want to do with the keyboard (as I said I
 9;m not keen on safari with a trackpad). @Jonnyboy1991, that is odd, sinse the number of posts and other information is all available in ie8. I actually noticed when trying out safari on my phone some stuff was missing, like for example the login/logout link, plus it wouldnt interact with buttons but I assume this was due to the screen size. The vo tutorial on mac will be useful and again that is handy to know. I did have a chat to the apple fellow about folder structure and he said that you can get the mac to display information in streight out lists with sublists like xp (which is one of my main beefs with windows 7, sinse frankly i dont like all these sprawling columns and ribbons and modern interface design, give me streight up locations I can enter and open), but I dont imagine Ill be able to play with the view settings on the mac I try out tomorrow, so knowing those commands will help, indeed I suspect that whatever display mac 
 I try out in the shop will not have had vo run on it before so Ill wind up in the vo tutorial, still itll give me an idea of the macs interface and capabilities which is mainly what I am interested in finding out. From what Ive discovered thus far Im already %60 sure Ill end up getting one but itd be foolish not to try one out first, plus deciding what size of monitor I want will only be possible when I see the thing.

Very weird! Idve thought multiple words would simply be equivalent to a search with each word individually, sorted by relevance.But, although the numerals hypothesis is an interesting idea, the phrase Windows XP (with correct caps) also returned nothing for me. So something seems a bit out of kilter somewhere, or the forum just doesnt want anybody to know about Windows releases. A perfectly reasonable defensive measure.

Hi, Im the person mentioned here  BGT has a lot of limitations, and because I know Java very well and because it is a correct language to program with, I decided to port my engine in Java, and programing audio and screen reader libraries (some things already exists). One cool thing with my Java port: the full 3D sound support using openAL. Made in two days with a little lib, only two lines to play a sound.C# could have been another choice, yes For 3D audio: I made the lib.  (very similar to eveyr other openAL implementations in Java)For screen readers; working on it, someone made a Java lib for NVDA JAWS and a few others to workTTS: same thingGames: my ported engineSee? Why is c++ rediculous for blind developers? I am not sure what you mean by having to buy something to use it, because visual studio community has been available free of charge for a while now. Theres nothing i n c++ itself that makes it more difficult for a blind developer to use it, than any other language.Youll want to get elcipse, the IDE of choice for java development. Im not sure if youll have to also get the java development kit separately, if eclipses download doesnt come with everything you need.I dont have any recommendations for a java book. Look for the best sellers in the java category on Amazon; the ones that have a 4 star rating or higher are usually a good choice.Youll be duplicating the functionality that BGT provides out of the box, which will take some time e.g looking for a suitable library for 3d audio, serialization, keyboard input etc.

Hi.So i got this idea from a few things; choice of games its killing time, daredevil, batman the dark night, swamp, and all that. What it is is, i am planning on making some sort of audio drama where this scientist dude creates a drug that mutates him into this supervillen named the aprone, and daredevil or batman must fight him. And aprone, nothing against you, i just thought that name was cool. Hell, you could even record it if you want, you could record lines if you really wanted and i could edit them.I have no idea how to edit audio but im thinking of trying out audacity or something free like that, and getting some good sounds and music. If anyone is interested and has ideas please tell me, its going to be a long while before i even start because right now im not really anywhere as to where i want to go with this thing, it kind of just came to me and i thought about it.

Ive just done a couple of experiments and there doesnt seem to be anything wrong with spaces, I tried choice of games and got lots of results as I would expect, indeed I often use multi word searches myself when looking stuff up on the forum. It does however seem the search has an issue with numerals, and unless you right numbers as letters weerdly enough you dont get any hits, sinse I tried searching or windows 10 (ie, 1 0), and got nothing, but then tried windows ten (ie t e n), and got a hole bunch of stuff including people whod written windows 10 as 10. I tried the same with windows eight and got the same result, loads for windows e i g h t, but none with windows 8. I also dont think capitalization matters on searches, though I could be wrong on that.Most whacky.

Well all of that is a pretty good arguement for keeping my xp machine, sinse all this vmware and boot camp and installations and sighted assistance mallarchy is far harder than,  well just pushing an on button . Im really not interested in running other systems I just like Xp sinse other than browsing the internet its still my preferd system for everything from dvds to media to games, (mostly audiogames and text but some graphical ones in there too which is why I want to keep the big screen), indeed if stupid microsoft just did with xp what they did with 98 and made the upgrade fully compatible with everything previously I would have upgraded Windows long ago. As to my tv, its actually a 40 inch plasma flat screen tv not a standard monitor, which is why I want to keep it, and I like my speakers as they are, indeed in general I
 9;m very happy with xp and what I do with it, Im only getting the mac really for use on the internet sinse that is the one area where xp is having problems, or rather where stupid microsoft have made xp have problems with their dropping of support in an attempt to sell their newer, less compatible and harder to use rubbish.Then again this topic was about mac questions not an arguement about virtualization, so Id probably better not steer things off track.

OK, I need to release a patch to the game because I screwed up some scoring calculation at some point (the feature is being used by a mod and was an addition for 1.1 when the mod wasnt ready yet, so I misguessed massively how it was meant to be calculated), and to fix minor issues. I was waiting to get this audio mode done first but its taking longer than I want.What would you prefer?1) Hide audio mode and for now keep it for testers only.2) Allow audio mode, despite the fact its not 100% usable yet.#2 would be better than nothing, but I dont like the idea of releasing something that isnt ready yet (even if its explicitly marked as experimental), it could come off as lazy and careless. On the flipside at least it would give me more proper testing than I had so far.

Hi,Ill list several onesOkay, this was in year 6 of primary school. We went to Bournmouth. To make a long story short, the pockets of my coat were filled with sand. There wasnt a washing machine so I tried to put the pocket directly under the water. A day later, just as we were leaving, it was found.Another time was in year 7. As the end of day registration was going on, I hid under the table.As my name was called out, I came out from under. I dont think the teacher appreciated it though.I have more for later.

Its true that c++ has a much much steeper learning curve than most other languages out there, but it lets you do many more things too. Have you considered using c# as an alternative? I believe the process of talking to c/c++ libraries from c3 is easier than doing it with java.

Virtualization isnt as hard as it seems. With Bootcamp, if you use the talking installer, you have to use an external sound card, because Idiot apple doesnt let windows load the macs internal sound cards driver until windows is installed, and youll have to have sighted assistance with bootcamp. With vmware, you just click new, choose your iso file, or if you have an install disk, choose your cd drive. You then choose your OS, then click next. You can customize your vm ram, and processor cores. Then, click done. Itll automatically start the install. Even better, if you dont have a talking install, you can choose easy install if youre doing it from a disk. You can also migrate your pc into a vm. So, virtualization is far better than unreliable bootcamp which likes to break its self, and it cant run xp. Furthermore, you can run more than windows with vmware. You are getting a better deal, as far as accessibility, relia
 bility, and ease of use, with vmware fusion. With bootcamp, you have to restart the mac to use windows, you cant use the talking installer unless you buy a usb sound card. You have to have sighted assistance with the partitions and such, before you can use the external card for speech. Bootcamp requires partitions which gives you less space for your mac, and vmware puts a file on your drive, no partition needed. People are switching to vmware every day, so they added the ability to make a vm out of a bootcamp partition. And, you can use your moniter with your mac, if you have a VGA to usb adapter. If its already usb, great. Your sound system will work as well.

Thats a difficult choice, I wrestled with the idea of releasing a Non-Stereo version of AudioRTS because in a way I didnt want people to get a bad impression of the game. But at the same time, getting something into their hands to actually try so they could get a feel for it or give feedback I felt was important too. Ultimately im not sure if it was the right choice or not.Its really up to you if you feel its ready for more public testing, but if your not sure you can always release it in a later patch.

Considering switching to Java, recommended resources for learning how

Hi,According to someone Ive interacted with on these forums, coding in Java is simpler than coding in BGT and theres a lot more functionality. Since Javas free (I think) and according to other people, C++ is ridiculous for blind developers aside from you having to buy it, Im seriously considering switching to Java.The thing is, I only want to build games in whichever language I settle on, not how to program every possible tiny little thing. Moreover, I want to learn how to build audio games, and I may need specific libraries to get going.1. Where can I learn to code with Java/is there a manual Ill need to download to read about how to code with it?2. Is there a special download package of Java that Ill need to build things with it?3. What extra libraries will I need and how do I integrate them into the main Java package?

Try this:If you are searching for a phrase, put quotes around it. I believe that if you do a multi word search without the quotes what you end up with are hits that contain any of the words you searched for. By putting quotes around your search term you are searching for that word group instead of a list of words.Just a thought, though from your descriptions, it does sound broken.

Not to my knowledge. I know that there are other screen reader output libraries that are capable of output to screen readers from multiple platforms like accessible output 2, but thats implemented in python.

I dont think the search is actually broken, as I said, I use it a lot myself. there is however an issue with the phrase Windows xp for some reason. I just tried windows xp with various capitalizations, quotation marks etc, and got nothing, but tried turn based rpg and got a hole bunch. This suggests to me that the search is working, but there is perhaps something specific in the PunBB code about searching for information on Windows versions. Whether this is an anti spam measure, or whether as with spelling out the numerals there is a less obvious way to search I dont know, as I said I use the search a lot myself and havent had issue with it, equally your correct on windows being an odd subject which seems to imply that there is some sort of exception going on.

I was under the impression that C++ took forever to code in and was therefore impractical when there were easier languages that did the same things. From what I was told, the only reason to code in C++ was to have a faster game.I know BGT has all these things built in, but the person I mentioned was trying to build an engine in BGT to make the process of making complex games (like the one I had intended on making) simpler in that engine and then realised BGT wasnt made for the kind of games he was trying to code this engine to help make. Sorry if that ran on too long and confused anyone. I have no objections to doing the hard work if its necessary, but if BGT flat cant do what I want it to, then it would seem Java is a simpler alternative with more functionality. Im only considering switching over at the moment.

First of all, youre getting ripped off. You can get a windows virtual machine with vmware fusion or do bootcamp. Itll be cheaper to get windows on your mac then getting an old machine fixxed. If you have no vision, Id reccomend the macbbok air because its the thinnest laptop that apple has, and itt has 11 to 14 hours of battery. Vo can be used with the trackpad. Press control, which is where youd expect it to be on a laptop with a fn key. Press tha with option, which is where the windows key normally would be, then with the VO keys held in, do the roter gesture that you do on your phone and the trackpad will be set to be used for navigation and as a substitution for the keyboard, with the acception of typing or using it for anything else . The trackpad commander is for navigation, and interaction only. You have all your iOS gestures. Swiping, scrolling, and the like. 2 finger swipe right interacts with items, 2 finger swipe left, well, does the 
 opposite, respectively.

@Dark, your explanation does make sense. Although, I cant help but find it a bit irrational from my point of view. I certainly dont mind warming up left over pizza and have even eaten it cold on occasion. Obviously, since I dont find it gross I dont mind buying more pizza than I need for a single meal so I can pop half in the fridge for the next day. That way Ill have some for lunch or dinner. Ive even eaten left over pizza for breakfast when the mood strikes. That said, I know plenty of people who do not like left over pizza or whatever because it doesnt taste as good warmed up. That is a legitimate complaint. Ill admit a lot of things like pizza just doesnt taste as good reheated in the microwave, and if I were a more picky eater Id probably complain too. However, I am not usually very picky and am okay with t
 he way pizza tastes reheated, cold, etc so eat it without complaint.
