Killing specific officers doesn't give you certain skills, but when playing the game blind, we don't get to choose who we kill... but it's typically a good chance you'll kill every officer possible, since the AI control tries to accomplish every objective. Weapons upgrades are done through a menu, but you will pick up weapons as you go as well. In the second game, you can now combine weapons you already have to make better ones. One thing I will say though is that the opponent AI has been improved. Button mashing no longer works for this game!

Actually I beaten the first stage of the 1st story. A lot of menus and choices I can see. Sadly, OCR is doing nothing there.Damn, all the time I wants to know what I'm choosing / doing, LOLBut, overal the game sounds good and gameplay, while a bit repetitive is good. A bit confusing is fact, the characters are talking a lot and everything is fading in. Why their prefer this technique rather than realistic talking in the stereo panning? shouting etc?

@momo7807 You may as well not. That is one of the more childish approaches to the issue. The best thing to do is just move on, Because it's really, not, all that worth it. Something like the QC Playroom can and has been coded in little time; being banned from that particular platform isn't worth stressing about and getting worked up and evading. Might as well shake your head, and move on. It's less trouble than it would be otherwise. If you would really want to fight back, go at it like adults, this way you get more people on your side and have a better chance against the childish admins, instead of the other way around.

Hi,  @Danny that would be a great idea, though I'd suggest waiting some time to publish it to the public given the uncertain status of the current "Ultra Power". But by the looks of it, Ultra Power may as well be abandenwear, in which case replecating it would be OK, just not under the same name and using the same sounds. .  That said, at post 603, it's generally not appropriate to post such things on a gaming forum, especially under these conditions:1. You just finished slamming on the community from which you now desperately seek attention.2. Because the dialog you're hearing is not always coming from enemies. Realistically, you couldn't hear a general give an order on the battlefield, or what other officers are thinking about the battle, which is why they chose to do it like this. a lot of comments are things that characters are saying to each other, either about the battle or the story. And yes it's repetitive, but especially on higher difficulties it gets more tactical and strategical while you're fighting.

Hi,Aren't there trampolines with netting on the outside to prevent things such as running off the edge?  I've jumped on a few like that, --some of them with no springs so getting hurt was pretty much impossible. It was a tad bit larger than the "In door" size, which the ones I've felt have only been about a meter wide.

Also, what on earth is the guy or gal with the bottles doing. Sounds like a load of beer bottles but then the door closes.

At this point, I don't see too many servers being hosted. It looks as though RTR will be what we fall back on more often now, since that is very much a stable, solid game with very few bugs. I guess we'll just have to say goodbye to this game for the most part and let it go. However, as I have said before, someone else will come along and either continue it, or write one like it. So, I still have hope for a game like this. If a game of this sort is written again, I'm sure the mistakes made here will be building blocks for improvement on Ultrapower's successor.

Thanks for the info, if you will have some more it will be fantastic. I'm planning to try it out today. I reads the standard SW4 has many things which are just fantastic but... don't think so we can actually manage to do. I'm talking about the gems for example which you can find on the maps, killing a specific generals to get some extra skills / abilities, not sure, or weapons upgrades.

Skullgirls is in the current Humble indie bundle with all DLC if you pay more than the average price, which as of writing is about $7. Considering the game is normally $15, a lot more if you add in all the DLC for $5 each, this is kind of a good deal if you wanted to get the game but couldn't afford it.

look at the code paper from the mud killer you defeat in 25-3. It has 10 numbers on it. Shoot two discs to swap them. Once you have the discs to match the paper, the door will open.

Rock Band 4 is on its way

The following paragraph will be updated post-launchThose who have been following Harmonix recently will be aware that "the only rock band game you'll need this generation" is coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4 very very soon. So soon in fact, that it's less than a week away at the current time of writing.I can confirm a few things from watching the Harmonix stream last night and I'll see if there's an archive of all the different parts (as pieces were on different channels/areas of the internet).Campaign, whilst playable to a degree, is not narrated/doesn't have sound effects from what I saw.  There does, however seem to be ambient music tracks that play over it.Voting during songs doesn't have to be done, you can wait until the end of a song to vote (as yet not fully substanciated).Crowds are different to previous games (I can't recall seeing a single recycled crowd thus far in the game
 's trailers or actual footage).Quickplay mode seems to just be one song at a time as before.  Shows mode is the equivalent of an endless setlist, where you choose songs as you go through.I believe you can start a band whilst in the song list - other people just press start/green/buttons on their instrument/controller whilst the other person is in there and they can join. (not yet fully substanciated).I don't claim to be a full authority on this game, but post any RB4 questions and it might be possible to find an answer.

I would say more than 20. The home screen and function screens are entirely read, and even if that's not a whole lot more, that's a vast improvement. The quit menu is read, as are some of the settings. And at least it's kind enough to tell you that tts isn't available here, though I don't understand how hard it is to code that.

All of them are playable. But the first games will all take longer because you nly have one character to control. The most playable are Samurai Warriors 4 and Samurai Warriors 4-ii, both on ps3, ps4 and vita, and the newest game on pc as well.

PS4 firmware 3.0 is out now. Does anyone have any information on the accessibility improvements in this update? The only thing I have been able to find so far are the two items below.- You can now change the speed for automatic text scrolling in Settings > Accessibility > Auto-Scroll Speed.- Accessibility features are now available when playing content from Blu-ray Discs™ or DVDs. Application of these features has also been expanded.I'm not sure what "Application of these features has also been expanded" means.

Hi, thanks for the guy who said I needed to get out of the first town where my house is to go to the professor. I have done that and had quite a nice time fighting the pokes in the forest, and the moon mount, close to route 4. I have defeated puter's gym master too, but now want to go to the city, which is at 49 20 on route four, but I don't see a way there. I thought I could get there through the cave, but that seems impossible as well, the only exits I get from that cave is basement floor 1 and basement floor 2. There's a man on route 4 that says he needs to take a rest because the tunnels are tricky but for some or other reason I don't see the tunnels, or am I missing something here?I got tired of the salmaklak signature so changed it regardless of the warning to not change user information.

I have a problemin stage 24.1 I am destroying the cases to get to the switches. however, when this happens, for some reason the switches don't appear in the rite place. Instead, they appear in exactly the same place as the switch that releases the bombs. witch makes it extreamly difficult to press because every time I'm pressing it I am releasing mor bombs instead of unlocking the door. Is this supposed to happen? This has only happened in spirit mode and bio mode. I haven't played the last one yet.

okay, let me rephrase that appology. I'm sorry for being such a dick, for hating on you, and for opening these holes in the first place. I will do my best to fix them. I have fixed the dev command, if you check for server updates now, you should see that version 10.8 is out. If you download it, the dev switch will be fixed. It also will find any players that are above rank 4 and that don't have clients sending they're devs, and demote them to rank 1 to fix past exploits. The real dev, as usual, has to run from source for his client to say he is one. There is no slash command to emulate this behavior, no longer using the rank file, simply your game sends it or it don't. if it don't, you are not a dev, and there is no way around that. Also, by suggestion of roel, I have added a way to edit the filtering of messages. I would recommend to keep this on, but it's your choice. Unfortunately the var command will not change the filter, you have to edit server.
 prefs while the server is not running. If it is running, it will now also filter account names so nobody can log in as a crashword.The game is now supported a little by me, and will continue to go on. i will make sure to keep a level head about this game and any thoughts on it. GO ahead, criticize, if it's constructive it's good. UltraPower is back!

Hello,That is really epic. I must say it was kind of sad when I finished RoboFortune's story mode, it felt bittersweet and felt like it had been one awesome ride. They ended it properly with humour and some things to think about, no true ending though, but I think that was going to always be the case. Who knows it might get added in a dlc if they go back to the game.

Hello,I agree, but am still excited either way. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with Harmonix being a more independent developer now. I don't really think shows mode will work until you've got a lot of dlc under your belt once again otherwise you'll be stuck with the same songs. I'm wondering how the console entitlement thing is going to work. All we know about that is that it'll be possible to transfer dlc from the same console family to newer consoles, but I don't really know exactly how the process works yet, whether they'll just be available for download, whether it'll be a menu option within the store, it's definitely left me curious.

Hay all.braillemon has vector graphics at the current time.Basically, your character is a little box, and all the maps are represented by a bunch of lines.None of the NPCs have any kind of graphical representation at all.As for battles; unlike the game on which it is based, battles take place on the area maps, with little pictures of the pokémon.Yours is usually higher than your oponent's.There's no animation of the battles whatsoever.All text is also displaied onscreen as it is being spoken.As for all the new updates, I hope this comes out soon.Heck, i'd even be happy just playtesting it, but I doubt that's going to happen...Oh well.Later!

OS X El Capitan is out. Get it from the Mac App Store, as usual.AppleVis have done a nice write-up of the accessibility-related changes. Some of those changes will be pretty exciting to many of us: from the ability to change the VO key to the caps lock, to the ability to remove the need for interaction in many instances, there's something here for even the most ardent Mac or frankly even Windows fanboy. And that's not to discount all those lovely performance and responsiveness improvements, of course.But there are bugs. Lots of bugs. The trend of heaping lots of new stuff into a fresh release that doesn't quite work is clearly still alive and well at Cupertino, even for a stability release. Having said that, Apple are clearly responding to bug reports (including mine--shocker!) and I can honestly say that the new release makes me
  all happy inside. Even if Apple don't care about Macs any more. Hell, they didn't even announce the El Capitan release date at the keynote! Anyway, go forth and download--slowly, of course, owing to entirely preventable server load issues. Install the OS on a test partition or upgrade after taking a backup. I think you'll be quite impressed.

Ethin, you need to stop.  If people feel as you do, then they simply won't take ctoth up on his advice.  If you're right, then they'll take him up on it and come back and join you in your crusade.  If you're wrong, then you learn that you're wrong and you can make the same jump, and you become more productive.  In none of these cases do you actually lose anything.  You are consistently trying to "correct" people who have an additional 10 years of experience, is it inconceivable that an additional 10 years of learning might teach something you don't know?  Perhaps that the things you think are good are actually things you're going to have to completely unlearn at some point, if you want to keep becoming a better programmer?  Because both of us have been there and we've had other threads on this forum by other people who were there too.  I spent a significant amount of time in the basic variant
 s, all they do is teach you how to program in a manner that is so far from what everyone else is doing that it's like traveling to an alternate universe when you finally try to leave.Parsing your map is not a performance-intensive task.  If a parser in C++ takes 10 MS and we make it 100 times slower by using languages that are even slower than Python is perceived to be, it is still 1000 MS.  This is still almost instant in human time and doesn't affect the rest of your game's performance.  You're complaining about a blink or you'll miss it while the game loads for a second pause.  Furthermore, basically every popular interpreted language has a way to implement the really performance intensive parts in C; PyYaml, Json, and the Python-only pickle format have C implementations.  There are yet more, if none of those are to your taste.You're also assuming that the map is stored as a string: while this is useful, it's
  not the only way, and when you're in a language that can basically dump anything at all to disk in a couple lines, you can often just save the map in a faster and smaller binary format.  While this may be avoided in favor of not having to write in-game map creation tools, you can still use it to cache pre-parsed maps and load them in one line: pickle.load(file("map.cached")).  In fact, one of the easiest ways to do it is to simply do map.py, manipulate the game objects to be however you want, and then to serialize them with your favorite format, usually in just 2 or 3 lines; this is the initial game state, and further updates caused by the player can also be pickled without much effort.There is no best programming language.  I can technically do everything from C.  It will technically be fast.  But fast doesn't matter in most cases, all that matters is fast enough.  If you need an OS kernel for a project, then you're at t
 he point in your programming career where language doesn't matter so much anyway, and you'll just switch for that part.  While some languages can technically "do everything", no language can do everything well, and you have to make trade-offs based on the project.  Libaudioverse is a multi-language project because C++ is not good at the parts that I'm using Python for, namely performant string manipulation without undue effort.As for basic, if basic were really so good for beginners as you claim, then all of our universities would still be teaching it in the introductory classes.  They aren't.  Basic is good for the days when we had only 64K of ram and you couldn't do stuff like look at other lines than the current one.  It's a fallback and choosing it is a way to avoid 20 or 30 years of "How can we get your programming languages to automatically solve problems so we don't have to solve them ourselves o
 ver and over?"  BGT takes us down to 20, or thereabouts, but it's still behind everyone else by a very significant margin.  These languages manage to do some things okay, but they fail to do anything well.I would say that since Ctoth is one of the small minority of game devs who has written an FPS, quite probably knows Python better than I do, and is making a living off his programming, his advice carries more weight than Ethin's.  And he's offering to help you move to a language where people will want to give you significant amounts of money for being good at it, too.

I guess it would be wrong to say that python is the easiest language for beginners in terms of syntax (though if you don't use the most esetaric features, it can be said to compete with easier languages like basic and etc), but if we consider the balance of ease of coding+the available content that python has+the jobs that are available for it (https://www.python.org/jobs/), it is easily provable that python is one of the best languages for beginners. The jobs, for me, is the most important thing-I don't think there are many jobs for basic around.

basic was the default programming language for beginners in the 90s and early 00s. Schools got on a Java kick for some reason in the mid-late 00s, but it's apparently Python now.I wouldn't call it especially beginner-friendly, in the sense that dependency scavenger hunts don't strike me as beginner friendly. But if you're just bothering with text and such, yeah, python is amazingly straightforward. Especially for sighted developers who go all crosseyed when braces and parentheses and the words "int" and "string" show up on the screen.Box2D is the simplest 2D physics engine I've been able to use, and the entire way I'd have to design games around it is different enough that my horrible attention span can't make it to a playable test.(I also tried a bouncing ball test once without using edges. "a Rectangle will do just fine!", I said. I somehow sent the ball into oblivion anyway. But I digress.)
 If I had started out with Box2D (and by started out, I mean got to it after I had learned enough programming, but before I had gotten too deep into a less callback-dependant mindset), I'd probably love it, assuming I could avoid the most common pitfalls (but, being common, there are plenty of articles online about how to get around them).I don't like the verbosity, but it is the least verbose physics engine I've encountered. I'd probably write a bunch of convenience modules if I could talk myself into using it seriously.Same for Ode. It's better than just about anything else I've encountered, but the effort involved in switching over from my terrible, terrible substitutes is sufficiently demotivating.(I like VPython and I wish there was a physics engine more like that. It is the laziest 3D engine ever. Unfortunately, physics and geometry need to be handled so differently that you can't really get away with just saying "pu

It's only specifically for US english. This makes me a little concerned considering that there are all the other regions of the world, and makes me wonder if it isn't just because they're wanting to get by the part of the ADA that says that everything has to be accessible in some form. In any case, I hope it improves quickly through the next few updates. This almost feels like a tease... I hope they don't pull a microsoft and let it lie like the half-assed job Narrator seems to be. I hope Sony takes the Apple approach and builds consistently as much as possible. I'm curious as to why it's taking so long to implement it to all the system UI, if not actual games...

With that, we can asoom python to take 5.95 (rounded off as 6 seconds). Now, if we take our map format to be yaml or similar, the yaml parser will most likely do yet more optomizations. So yes, python has extremely fast speeds for string manipulation.And to your point that python isn't the best programming language...no, no it isn't. It is, however, the best programming language for beginners.

Tablen - The cave actually has three levels. You need to get down to the third level in order to exit the cave. The exit you want to go to in order to exit the cave is on the top left corner of the map but I can't remember the coordinates of the exit right now.Also to answer questions about the moves - most moves will be added to the movesets, similar to the R/S/E movesets, and also update the egg moves. Some additional moves not found traditionally in R/S/E movesets will be added as well, to make sure that most moves are available. However, some will only be available later through TM, since I do plan on expanding the game. All TMs that will be in Johto will be R/S/E moves, so yeah.

I didn't have any luck with wmaaudioredist. Now some people may say that the methode I used could harm your pc etc, but it worked for me. Try searching for the files the troopanum setup says are missing on google. Make sure you download a dll file, not an exe file pretending to install the dll. I think you have to put the dlls in the folder where the troopanum installer is, or regester them like the swamp files. Keep in mind it's nearly 2 years ago since I did this, that's why I'm a little unsure of the details.Also, after instalation, convert the sound files from wma to wav with gold wave or something. The built in extractor doesn't work. I also think you might have to run the configuration tool as admin. Troopanum itself must be run in win xp compatibility mode.

Hi, my server is still up on ip 84.85.7.236 standard port.If you want to host a server, keep the following in mind:1. Don't use any server version greater than 10.72, or 10.77. I'm not exactly sure, but you have to make sure you can't use the dev command from within the game. I'm not sure if I should post the code, but if you use 10.79 anyone can become a dev with the right code and have the same power as a cheef mod.2. Keep an eye on the server. It throws runtime errors sometimes.

I got it working. I had to set currentPlayer equal to my changeTurn function. Which makes sense to me.I also changed a few things, most obviously I got rid of the roll function. I couldn't get the program to work the way I wanted it to with the die variable in a separate function. Pre-built Libaudioversse and Nightly Builds

I'm not announcing this generally via my blog and such for another week or so, but you can get a pre-built Libaudioverse zip here.  I've gotten more than a couple inquiries on building, so I figured' I'd put this up.This pretends to be a nightly, but it isn't quite yet.  In another bit, once several related things are in order, that link will be rebuilding every night at midnight off whatever the current state of the Libaudioverse repository is.  Officially numbered versions will obviously be on offer, but we're still a few weeks out from that, possibly longer if it turns out that something personal and completely unrelated to technology decides to drop an anvil on my head.You can find the Github here.  This contains Python and C examples that demonstrate most of the functionality.
 ; The manual included in the above nightly is for C, but it should be fairly obvious how stuff translates to Python after reading the examples.  There are Python docstrings (which will be improving) and there will be language-specific API references.  What exists of the documentation is somewhat out of date, but I don't want to keep delaying and that's part of the implication of nightly builds anyway.  Documentation is one of the big bits that still needs improvement.In terms of usability, most of the improvements from here on out will be small API changes.  I don't expect any major incompatibilities before 0.8.  Major incompatibilities are very possible after 0.8, but most additions for a good while should be new features.  Judging by Q's recent FPS demo, this is mostly stable as-is, all be it only working on Windows for now.This is GPL, a copyleft license.  The short version is that if you use Libaudioverse, then y
 ou need to be willing to give out your source code under the GPL.  I will be going one of two ways commercially: I'm either going to sell GPL exceptions or I'm going to do a Kickstarter.  I need money to justify continued development time, which has already been very significant and will be for the foreseeable future.  My hope is that I can Kickstarter this and release under the MPL, which says that you only have to publish source code if it's changes to Libaudioverse itself.  I don't particularly want to have to provide support to people for 5+ years if I can avoid it, but I will if I must.
