@orin:  so only the volcano "left"? This is the good area, you just have to be careful and avoir danger by moving quickly or hiding until you find it. To get goins the easiest is to grab things and sell them at a pawn brokers (there is one in most cities / villages). Btw we should move in game for questions via report / mail in order to limit the spoilers here. Good luck!

It says i am offline when  I look at the peers syncing content. Is there a way for me to remove myself from those peers? i've tried installing bt sync again but I can't seem to find a way of removing myself.

Hi,Give it a while. It's set by default to start delayed. If you want it to start right away, hit windows r to get to the run diologue, type in services.msc. In the list that shows up, navigate to the resilio sync service, right click, go to properties, and set it to automatic startup (not delayed). That should fix it.hope that helps.

Hi,As far as your other two questions, there's a number after each folder. E.g. 2 of 3, etc. Clicking on that will tell you how many files left to download from each peer. Also, at the very bottom of the main browser window when sync opens, it will give transfer speeds.Hope that helps some.

Re: A few bt sync secrets folks might be interested in

BradI'm going to address each question below.1. Does anyone know why with the older versions it would make my computer and screen-reader lag? It was quite annoying.Since the new bt sync is all web browser based, you're not actually using the program to control it. When you were in the old bt sync moving around, it tended to try and update the window too fast for a screen reader to read - or in a lot of cases make the bt sync window stop responding when it had a lot to index. This fixes that with the latest version.2. I have clicked on try Sync Pro and am wondering, what's the difference between pauseing a folder, and using selective sync on it? For example, let's say I just want to download text because text is smallest, I believe it might download the fastest, (I could be wrong and if I am please correct me.) Wouldn't pausing the rest of the folders do the same thing?Yes, you'd be 100 percent right there. Do keep in mind
, though, that because the text files are smaller files you might not actually get full speed while downloading. Some of those files, for instance, are only a few hundred kb - actually a lot of them are like that. Selective sync would basically allow you to have placeholder files and you can download them at any time, but they would still be there ready to download at a moments notice, and you get full control of what files are downloaded.3. What program can I use to open dot mobi and other book files?I'm honestly not sure on the .mobi files, but in most cases there is always a duplicate format that can be opened by almost anything.4. Would anyone like me to either convert or copy and paste these books into dot txt format? My reasoning behind doing this is as follows: 1. The books may be smaller.2. Everyone would be able to read them. Every laptop/PC be it Windows or mac, comes with a basic text editor.if people want this, I would then pos
t the books, (In a zipped folder,) on this thread using dropboxYou can if you want, but that's a lot of books to first extract, go through and make sure there's not already txt files of said books, and convert, for very little gain (if any). You'd also have to somehow keep the directory structure, too.Re: Using google drive. Well if google drive offers tb's of space for free, feel free to give that to me haha. Bt sync is person to person, too.

I have the old second ed version of the monster's manual which I bought on a cd rom in the late nineties. Actually i'll say that was one D book I read from cover to cover, just because I loved the descriptions and learning about the reproductive habbits of Spriggan or the differences between cloud, fire, ice, shadow and goodness knows how many other types of giants, it was pretty cool even though the only times I've played actual D we never came across many monsters, then again the Gm did do a good job with our mutants and masterminds game in giving us plenty of nasties from dinosaurs to giant bone spiders, so I can hardly complain .

No, it upgrades your folders for you.Another thing I've found is the older version likes to hang in transfering sometimes, making the newer versions use lots of internet doing absolutely nothing.if it is working for you, by all means keep going with it, though. Re: puppet nightmares question

Yep, death is a really annoying status effect. I don't recall which boss that was precisely, but I do recall having a couple of fights with it. There are several ways of avoiding this. First, take lots of resurrection items with you.I forget exactly which item restores at which shop, but they shouldn't be too hard to find. Since usually only one puppet is hit with death at a time you can use another's action to do a restore, particularly since death doesn't actually take a soul puppet's hp to zero.Second, find a soul puppet with a resurrect or healing ability (I had a nurse undine that rocked for this). Third, Try death resistant gear, this often works, though manifestly just restores the chances of death, still, death attacks rarely hurt much and have only chances of working anyway, so restoring gear is good. Fourth, use status effects that stop the enemy from acting. Really, sleep or petrify can often be your friend here
, indeed I've got through several very tough boss fights by spamming sleep and poking away, silence is also good too.Hth. Sorry I can't recall which enemy that was precisely and I've not played puppet nightmares for a while, still it always was a very awesome game and I'm glad your having fun with it.

Re: `Cosmic Rage, an all new, all awesome Space MOO from Nathan Tech!

hello folks!I'm sorry for the long time between update, but I could not log in for a while.First off soundpack wise.If you are using vip 2, try putting the sounds into documents/vipmud/sounds/cosmic rage. and the scripts in documents/vipmud/cosmic rageNow for updates.First @dark, you wil like this one:I have added NPC mobs for both hand mining and hunting, they both give quests for those activities.I'm hoping to add some more at some point, too.In terms of tutorials, I've just added a new planet, called the galactic academy, this contains several different lessons on the game. And now for some announcement and changes:Nate: hello folks! I've just added a small little feature to our socials thing. Ever wanted to nod at someone out of character, but not wanted the hole moo to hear it? well now you can! by typing social, then a star then their name, like nod *sierra it is possible to nod from a f
ar to someone. Note that that kind of socialing is ooc. Enjoy!Nate: hello players! I'm done messing around with blueprints. There are gonna be some tracebacks popping up here and there I have no doubt, so please report those, but otherwise here are the changes: 1. Each info computer now has all blueprints ready inside, you must find copies. The copies are the things that decay. this changes how blueprint lookup and how info 4 looks, but I really hope you enjoy it. 2. Its less database consuming. 3. Get back to blueprints you lot! and enjoy! Nate: good evening players! And now, the moment you have all been waiting for... I bring you, with pride... Automated mining drones! how do they work? You upgrade your ship with your drone and take them out to a field, either asteroid or planetoid. You deploy your drones onto said asteroids or planetoids, then go off to harvest, drin
k tea, or do what ever it is you wish, really. When they are done, the drones will send you a notice, both in game and out, to let you know to come and pick them up! Each drone holds 3k of minerals before it is full up. Once full, you take them to a tank and unload them into it. Watch out! Drones can get damaged and need to be repaired with patches, which are only something that can be made with blueprints! I really hope you enjoy them, as they are seriously cute. There is obviously a help file on these, under shelp. Enjoy!I have also added a lot of things where the moo will send you a dm, or send you a notice via your phone for certain things such as skill timer resets!Changes:added factory ops rooms. These allow the factory to scan, and communicate with, other factories and or starships that are in range. Nateyou can now scan for starships in weapon rooms, and communication stations Nateripped out the old exit airlock message onto a station, and rep
laced it with something a lot better Natewhen the fdefensive armour and shields are down, there is a random chance the hull of the ship can be breeched. You can use a breech repair drone to repair it Natesunglasses can now be worn on eyes, rather than head Natereformed the mrumph social  Nateyou can now type rc, rather than recharge-cannon Nateadded the ow ooc social  Nateyou can see from other rooms when volcanoes erupt now, and can not launch or land while said volcano is doing said eruptions Natethe moo will now automatically tweet when we beat our peak amount of players on at any one time. Lets test it! NateFinally, we have twoo amazing events this weekend:Event name: the return of mercuryDescription: When kayla maryanne announces over general she needs a troop of people to help her haul in the planet mercury, all hell breaks loose.Vacus warriors storm sector 1 and wave upon wave of enemy ship at

Re: A few bt sync secrets folks might be interested in

Hello.I have some questions before I decide to try the up to date version of BT sync again:1. What are the advantages over using the latest version of BT sync compared to the version I'm using now?2. Does selective sync mean that I can choose what I want to sync? For example I could sync the text folder and get it to download the fastest as it is the smallest folder?3. If I choose to use the newest version of BT Sync, will I have to delete all the folders from my external hard drive and start all over again? IF so, I think I'll stick with this version for now as I've downloaded quite a bit of content and wouldn't want to start all over again.

These are some awesome ideas @crashmaster.However, I'd need to check my country's international shipping things.I'm all for what you suggested, except from what I heard, the international shipping from Serbia is very iffy.E.g., you can't be sure the parcel will arrive, it would probably cost a lot and take a long time if it is sent to USA or something...Offering the digital gifts wouldn't be a problem, though.I really appreciate you all voting, commenting, and above all else, providing very much the useful suggestions and throwing ideas around.

Re: A few bt sync secrets folks might be interested in

Hi,If you need me to I can give it another shot. I actually tend not to add all the folders from my computer to my phone, since I have over 30.One nice thing on the phone, though, is they default to disconnected. Once you enable selective sync, there's a weird button right next to the folder (or in the menu of the folder) that lets you turn selective sync off and sync everything. Also, when you add new secrets or connect a folder, there are checkboxes in that diologue that allow you to turn selective sync on or off. Both of them will appear to be checked, so just hit space on the one you want. Note that NVDA's focus mode and jaws forms mode will need to be disabled for this to work.Hope that helps!

Re: A few bt sync secrets folks might be interested in

Yup, you use your screenreader's actual right mouseclick command, I don't think applications key will work. Either that, or you left click it once and then click the options button that shows up to its right. I figured this out by mistake. Also, when you have selective sync enabled for a folder, in the graphic it will say "selective sync" followed by off. I think this can be used to toggle it, but for the longest time I actually thought it meant selective sync was, in fact, off. It isn't, that actually means its on. If you don't hear selective sync, it's off. To clarify, I am talking about the little graphic to the left of each folder which for example can also say 'read only'. @timberwolf Yep, that made perfect sense. I couldn't seem to get the 'devices' tab to activate on iOS but I'll try again

Okay, the mission command tells me that I missed the Nothing spell. Can anyone give me hints as to where to get that? I was doing the Novice rittle earlier, and I got the secret of the spell about the Envokers Knowledge, however it still says the novice rittle is unfinished. Will it be finished when I get the spell, or was their something else I was supposed to do at the Farmlands of Hope? As far as the Nothing spell, I was pretty sure I completed the tutorial completely, which that's the nothing level. I was also having some difficulties in Midwood, E.G. catching the bear, so just figured I'd move onto something else. The nothing rittle is about the temple, but yet I missed a spel there? The area command says I got everything.Edit: Is it possible to farm goins in this game? I unfortunately don't have any and had to resort to going into the temple to grab the torch from there to explore the Barney's Bar sellar.Speaking of torches, it says in the sec

I didn't know there were hidden objects and things after the tutorial... Where is the key to this chest? I figured it'd be on the guard but maybe not.Edit3: okay, so I got the nothing spells. Now it says the novice rittle is unfinished still, but I've already solved it by getting the Envokers Knowledge spell secret. I hope that once i see who I have to see in Agnor, the Novice rittle will be completed and I can go and get the amature quest.Edit again" Okay, I solved it. A bit of a progress update:I've been continuously hacking on this for a little while. I've found one sound designer already who appears to be quite competent, but if I start seeing that the audio work is more than we can handle, I may bring others on board.I've got the server in a very basic usable state. It loads universe templates and creates universes, which it populates with items. Currently these universes are pretty static, as the whole resources/trade/economy system is still nascent, and without a functioning economy, nothing really happens.Starships work. Ish.Most of the core systems function. The computer acts as a bit of a control hub for everything else. I have tests which exercise basic combat, harvesting of resources, and even some preliminary work on buying and selling resources.Missiles work. They currently have a limited amount of fuel, and accelerate after launch. They're only really useful for fixed trajectory o
r motionless things right now though, as they do not (yet) have homing capability. Beam weapons work. They are limited in range for accuracy reasons. The trifecta of engines, thrusters, and autopilot all work together to get you to whatever objects you plot a course to. Jumpgates can pop you from one system to another. This is darn good, because even with metaspace drive, it would take months to travel between systems otherwise.Sensor systems work. There isn't yet cloaking/stealth, but it is planned. There's a lot more working on the server at this point. The AI is very very very basic and only has a few concepts like make money or fight or flight, but the basic framework is there. Shields, reactors, fuel, it's all there and most of it even works, though of course there's a lot of balance work that needs to be done.As previously mentioned, everything's read out of template files, and writing these template files is incredib
ly easy, so the task of actually plugging in names and attributes for all these various resources, components, etc. should be ... manageable. Now for the clientI've come up with a relatively unique design that I think can save me from having to go literally insane while writing the client, but only time will tell if I got this right. Some client concepts in no particular order:- Channels:  Every message that comes from the game, and this being a complex game there are a lot of messages, comes from a certain channel. Navigation, Sensors, Combat, etc.Much like Twitter clients I have built in the past, I made an easy intuitive way of dealing with these channels. They all have sounds, so you can tell from simple audio cues precisely what sort of information is coming in. You navigate between these channels with alt+left and right, and read their contents with alt+up and down. Channels automatically read incoming messages, but if a channel is
too noisy, you can also mute it.- The Sensor Sphere  Objects around you are represented in 3d audio. This audio is scaled, giving you the ability if your sensor sphere is zoomed out, to perceive literally millions of cubic kilometers of space. Each object in space that is within your sensor range is represented by a sensor contact. Contacts have both a type, say ship, planet, etc. and an object class, say star destroyer, m-class, etc. These contacts have a set of sounds associated with them: appear, disappear, contact, and selected. The client first checks for a sound for the given object class, then for the given type, and finally looks for a generic sound. Currently you investigate the sensor sphere with tab and shift+tab, though I am brainstorming ways of making this more efficient, possibly by the use of categories or something based around recency of contacts. IF a sound is not found, the client will also, in future, check the server and dynamical
ly download the sound if it exists, making hot patching assets trivial.Much the same algorithm is used when looking for system sounds. Systems have both a name and a type, and so first system sounds are sought for using their name, then their type, then again generic. Systems have sounds for start, stop, running, damage, prepare, and use. Not all systems have all sounds.Any sound in the game can be either a single sound file, or a directory of sounds. If a directory, a sound is randomly selected from this directory when a play request is received to avoid the machinegun effect where a sound is repeatedly played.- UI:  The server can request that the client display a few different GUIs. Currently I'm just using this for scan reports and the like, though it has a whole heck of a lot of potential since I went with an actual accessible GUI, wxPython, rather than a game-specific and inaccessible thing like Pyglet or Kivy. Having actual accessible UIs w
ill be incredibly useful for things like columnar data like might be found in a cargo bay listing or similar. What does this all look like in practice?Well, right now it's pretty bare-bones, still.

@everyone: due to a change to add "finger / whois" information, the game crashed whenever a new player connected for the first time. This has been fixed, our most sincere apologies.@nuno69: There is a plot to follow to finish the game through 20 level quests and 20 spells quests. Indeed the game starts with a mystery and only by following the main quests will you get to the bottom of it. I have to warn you, though, that you will probably need to do other quests along the way to have enough points to go up to the next levels. But side quests will give more spells, allow you to rank in guilds for skills, lead to magic items or valuable stuf, so they are not here just for show.

entombed madness

hi all. [[wow]] i was playing entombed and i got by a basault gardian. I have no idea what that is to represent but when i got killed i was reincarnated as an earth elemental. [[wow]]! It's a shame i only i have the demo for i rescued a fary trikser on the 2nd floor and an half elf on the 5th floor. It's a shame that you can't be a trikster on the demo version but i wish you can have an elemental card. I doubt that'll happen though but i hope it will.

Re: A few bt sync secrets folks might be interested in

Hi,Going to address each of these posts one by one.Zersiax:Yes you can. Go to options, my devices, and at the very bottom you can click on my devices.Keep in mind, and this goes for anyone using the web gui, I'm using firefox and NVDA here, so your mileage with anything else may vary.Once you click on link a device, there should be an option for mobile or desktop. Click mobile, and from there it should tell you to scan the code that shows up on the screen. If not that, you can link it manually, which is the other option, which means you type in the key it gives you. This also goes for other computers as well, as long as you have one machine that's your main desktop or what not. Every folder that gets added, as long as all the computers used the same central key to connect, will be added to each other. Example:You add laptop 1 and 2 to your desktops list of folders. The folders from desktop get transfered over to them. You add a fo
lder on laptop 2, it also gets added, along with your default setting (selective sync, fully synced or disconnected) on laptop 1 and desktop.Does that make sense?enes:OK, I'm going to get you to do a few things here first because I'm honestly not sure of the desktop keyboard command.Using NVDA and firefox, go to the folder name you want to right click. Hit capslock (aka NVDA from now on) shift and m. This should focus that folder. Now hit NVDA right bracket. At the very bottom of the screen you should see things like copy read only secret, selective sync on and off, disconnect, pause syncing of this folder, etc.You might have to maximize the window, alt tab in and out of firefox etc to get the folder to focus when you hit NVDA shift m.I hope that helps a little. It took me ages to figure that little tidbit out.By the way, I can't get this working in chrome or internet explorer and not sure why. Other screen readers milea
ges may vary too! I can try jaws when I get a bit of time on my hands, too.

Re: A few bt sync secrets folks might be interested in

Hi,Exactly what Zersiax said.I've been collecting most of this for years, so I figure I'll share it. At worst, if something ever happens to my drives here at home I can always depend on others to get it back.I'm going to go into a bit more on the exact content of these folders. I hope folks aren't terribly disappointed. The audiobooks are VBR bitrate at a max of 48 kbps. Which, when you think about it, is still an awful lot.Music is, again, VBR with the max bitrate being I believe 128 kb/s ogg. I personally couldn't tell much of a difference.Movies and tv are 80 KB/s mp3. Any higher and I'd have had to buy even more hard drives to store everything. As it is, the current count is 1.8 tb of tv and 300 gb of movies. Documentaries are, by the way, in movies, not TV. Most of these are converted by yours truly and directly from video, at that. Again, hopefully people aren't terribly put off by some of the bitrates. I
tried to compromise as best I could with what I had available to me.I should also add that resilio sync is also on mobile devices. Selective sync is also free on mobiles, too. And it's 100 percent accessible.Hope I've answered some questions.

I ended up also finding this.https://www.amazon.ca/VicTsing-Gold-Pla … dmi+to+vgaThat looks like it might actually work nicely - it has 3.5 mm so I can just plug a headset directly in there for audio, use micro USB just in case the VGA monitor might not give the right amount of power. Does this sound right? Thanks!

Re: I want to use some sound packs. Do you think if i'm allowed?

It depends on what you mean by allowed:I don't personally use the Alter Aeon MUSH-Z pack because it heavily uses sounds from other projects such as Mortal Kombat games. This is illegal and thus, I choose not to use the product and be in violation of the law.If you mean that you want to use the sounds in your own projects, it'd be best to get the developer's permission. You'd still run into legality issues with the sources of the sounds though.I don't know anything about other mud packs, though I've heard one of the miriani packs uses music from a star trek soundtrack.

Re: Xbox One, a few questions.

hey timberwolf, I mucked about with my xbox to see how it would work without a connected display. I'd have reset also, but my eyes are all buggered up today.I found out that from a cold boot, without a display connected, the xbox hangs and will never load the dashboard. This probably has to do with the xbox failing to find a device to complete a HDMI handshake with. No device means that the xbox can't be told what resolution to render the dashboard at and so on. It resumes just fine from standby though, if you have it set to instant on without a display. I'd hunt down a small HD ready TV or computer monitor, something in the range of 15" to 19" as you could stash the thing just about anywhere and it'll not cost much.

, a making of video for another album I have allready, and some bonus digital cd tracks not ever released that I never had before.I could have got a shirt and extras but I got the cheapist bundle I could get.I still got a lot of things.

You do realise that if someone gets hacked or infected that the entire folder will get infected to.Also any other folders in dropbox could and then other computers and soon enough you have a bot farm. Also while dropbox is cool for project colaberation betwene likeminded people its useless if someone gets in and starts killing files. Its the same if someone gives everyone a read write key to bt sync folders. At some point the folders will be used for unintended things.Firstly you will see music, movie mp3 audio and other alegal files. And while some may be happy it will become programs, viruses, file deletion, the folder will end or become stagnent and or simply everyone will leave.Everyone will be flaming you out for making one.Dropbox is fine for what it is but for a general folder its not really unless your userbase can be trusted.

Hi,yes it does. Resilio is now the official owner of bit torrent sync, so it's been renamed.http://www.getsync.com is where you can get the latest at.You can also try sync pro free for 30 days. If you like it, a lifetime license is something like 40 USD, I forget what I paid exactly.I love it.

Hi narf,That's a misconception. If you install it normally, it isn't usable whatsoever. If you install it as a service, however, you can use it just fine in a web browser window, and can even control it remotely from another computer assuming you know how to forward ports on your router.thanks

Re: nvda remote on a local network

You would download the code for the server, its up on some github repo somewhere. Then, you would run the server on one of your pc's within the local network and make sure that machine's firewall doesn't block it. Finally, you connect both machines (one of which could be the server itself) to that server's ip, ey presto, NVDA remote on the local network. In theory, anyway. Full disclaimer, I haven't tried this, but see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Re: Xbox One, a few questions.

Hi,My major concern, at least for right now, is if I'm going to actually be able to use this without HDMI connected. Maybe that's strange - certainly does sound that way - I just don't have room for a tv in here where I'm currently at at the moment since the basement of my place is being renovated. This wouldn't be so bad except it's been well over 1.5 years so I have little hope it will be completed in the next few months - or even by the end of xbox ones lifecycle. So - again - I would nearly pay money at this stage to know for certain if, for starters, narrator worked - and secondly if a tv or monitor has to be connected during setup (or out of box experience etc).SLJ: How was your experience with unboxing/getting narrator out of the box? Are you able to buy games using the denmark store and transfering them to your xbox one or are you having to use the US store and suffer through exchange rates without a US credit card? How are yo
 u buying games otherwise?thanks

I hate to ask the same old question, but in a different way.But would it possible to release just the docs in English, if they have been translated? I think that alone would help a lot of people who like me can understand a little but not everything. And it might calm some people down before the English release.(and my guess as to how much I'd understand was totally over, I only understand about 10% lol)
