But items have to be manually picked up all the time as opposed to automaticallylike in the updated version. But I haven't played it long enough to know.. He could lose it. But as I say, if he picks up Pennsylvania, it's over. If he picks up Georgia, it's over. Dennis is essentially a middleman provider which is not a bad thing in and of itself, but red flags such as not having a secure website, numerous spelling mistakes, and improper payment handling don't bode well for him. What brand and model of computer are you attempting to boot? Do you know by any chance what exactly the error message states? Does it say something like "No Operating System", or perhapse something about EFI, or failed to start loader.efi? On some dell machines, the installation triggers a fake invalid partition table message on boot, which can be circumvented by hitting a key to run grub, or by using parted to set the pmbr_boot flag to off. Some HP machines, even while using UEFI boot, need the same treatment as well, i.e. setting the pmbr_boot flag to off, in order to even boot in uefi mode, which is what happens when firmware developers caremore about useless so called functionality than the user's choices, if I tell you to boot in uefi mode without csm, boot in uefi mode, I don't give a flying fudge flavored honey donut about what the protective mbr says! Re: Software to OCR PDF's I'd definitely recommend Finereader if your employer is willing to spring for it, it's fast and quite accurate.I'm not sure if it's able to tag PDF, but free services such as Robobraille are able to do so. I like RoboBraille in particular because it does a decent job preserving PDF layout, which can occasionally be important. Its turnaround time is noticeable, depending on document size/complexity..Hope either of these will be of help. If you want to play around with custom roms though, that's a different story.Also, sorry, but it didn't work means I can't help you any further. What happened exactly, what is the output of ADB? It is correct that on most phones these days it is necessary to have some speech before starting the flashing process to turn on the OEM unlock inside developer settings before the bootloader can be unlocked. I forgot this fact simply because once you do it, it's always on, and on Samsungs it's not such a big deal. In fact older Samsungs don't even do this, though the newer ones certainly do. You're entitled to speak when you wish, and how you wish, provided that you follow the rules. I've been silently watching this thread ever since it was created. It's forty-something posts long, I alerted other staff members to its existence last night, and no one has received any punishments within this thread, despite some really obvious attempts to start more fires.One of the main reasons I've stayed quiet is because I see this as a lose-lose scenario. A loud faction within the community got upset when they felt that warnings, bans and punishments at large were administered in a fashion that was far too haphazard and arbitrary. I made a promise that I was going to do what I could to fix that, and thus a redrafting of rules and discipline protocols was born. It's had its bumps along the way, and I'll be the first to admit that we're not perfect and sometimes make mistakes. But the one thing we try to do is to stay accountable. When I dropped a warning on PatrykK for apparently linking to what looked like a clone - on the say-so of users, I should add - I later found out that he was not, in fact, in breach of any rules. When I discovered this, I updated the post in the discipline topic to remove that warning, since it's not fair to uphold a punishment if you later overturn it. I have deliberately recused myself from discussion of punishments when I'm deeply involved with a situation, so as to minimize the chances that I will act in self-defense or because of bias. Other staff members have done likewise. I daresay that the discipline protocol is far clearer and more fair than it's ever been before, but some of you still want to howl about it. What you've convinced me of, then, is that no matter what we say or do - and thank you, Mayana, for hitting on this before I spoke up - you're going to find fault in it. Now, instead of having this motivate us to do whatever we want, and damn the consequences, it just means that, speaking personally at least, I don't feel it necessary to defend myself against every shouted accusation. To put it bluntly, some of them have merit, and some are just hot air from start to finish. I have in the past felt a greater need to defend myself, but as time passes, that need is evaporating. By and large, I trust this staff team to do the right thing, or to admit an error when it occurs. I think that's about all that can be expected.Simter's ban was due to a watch violation. A community watch is put in place when someone has been dancing the line without actually getting banned. We know we can't have a rule for every single behaviour, so community watch is basically the catch-all where we can demonstrate that something is wrong but we don't have a specific rule to hit. If you go back and thoroughly read Simter's message history - go on, I'll wait - you will see that he has earned this, and more, from his actions. When he came back into the newest VM thread and started doing the same thing, we were watching. When he continued doing it, he got banned. He would not have been bothered in the least if he'd made one or two posts, but considering that he kept escalating, it was clear that he was interested in beginning the same patterns.Some of you seem bent on defending Simter's intent, but I'm here to tell you that this isn't going to work. Not only did Simter get a warning for this in his own right in the past - which means he had literally months to validate the fact-checks we gave him - but he continued to make excuses for his behaviour. He was tired. He may have been a bit rude. The watch was bogus because...well, it was bogus and we're trying to shut him up. Do you think any reasonable governing body is going to look at that and say, "Yeah, our bad, guys, Simter clearly had no way of knowing what he was doing"? The answer is no. We deliberated on this and came to a consensus. This wasn't Jack's decision, though he was out front for it.Oh, and real quick? If we were really so anti-Simter, do you think we would've acted so quickly when he got "hacked"? I put that in quotes because that was just a very weird and fishy situation all around. Nevertheless, we acted as quickly as we could to establish contact and to return his account to him. Technically, there is nothing in the rules saying that we have to help you if someone yoinks your password or gets into your account. And technically, there was no demonstrable evidence that Simter was actually hacked; there is an outside chance that he engineered the entire thing by himself to sow discord, although there is no hard proof here and thus it's impossible to act as if this is true beyond reasonable doubt. Regardless, we helped him out on good faith, and when and if he was unfairly targeted, we gave him what protection we could. Until he forfeited his right

Re: Software to OCR PDF's I use Adobe Acrobat Reader DC, which either came with my computer or was purchased by the business. I don't know how much it costs, but it couldn't have been that much since my father owns the business and he doesn't like spending a lot of money. It works well with NVDA, it can even OCR comission reports and make them understandable. It also has options for screen reader support, which helps sometimes. I don't know about JAWS, but it should be fine if you're using NVDA, System Access, Window Eyes and even Narrator (with Windows 7, 8 or 10). It's not likely that you would only use Narrator, but some people who have partial vision do that. Re: how to flash an android custom .zip with adb if your phone has varranty, don't flash any recoveries, roms, etc cause you'll need to unlock bootloader for that and unlocking it will vvoid your varranty.Even if this is talk back script for magisk you need to flash twrp, which requires you to unlock bootloader, and if your phone is not speaking i'll not be able to unlock fastboot anyway, cause it needs turning on developer options and switching oem unlock switch.And how come your motorola doesn't have talk back? Iff it really doesn't have it, better just tell someone sighted to install it from the play store insteat of playing around with flashing and stuff, especially if you didn't do it never before.Regards. Re: Nhl 21 Once you are choosing your team, press the left stick 7 times. OCR should display CO, which means you selected to play as the coach. This is by far the most enjoyment I got playing NHL 20 using a pretty decent slider set to allow the game to be as realistic as possible. As to the sound, you can usually tell when to press x and when to press triangle to use a keyword because the sound is different. The difference is hard to describe, but the standard sound for talking to people with x is just a beep, whereas the sound that indicates you can use a keyword sounds more like a beep with an echo on it. Re: VoiceOver error using accessible_output2 @20NSAccessibility is the accessibility API on mac, the thing that apps which want to expose information to voiceover implement. When I say it lags behind I mean that the iOS equivalent--confusingly named UIAccessibility--generally gets more features faster. it's the same as Voiceover itself--iOS always runs far ahead of Mac.Live regions are, well, live regions. As in Aria live regions, the thing that lets divs or whatever in a browser send messages to screen readers when they change. That's something you can implement as a UI toolkit etc. without being in a browser, because all the browser stuff actually just maps to the accessibility API of the platform nowadays: you get a window up and running, you do whatever the specific platform wants to hook an accessibility API provider into the window (which sadly can't usually be done through something like SDL), you start sending the right events and you can get screen readers saying whatever you want them saying. This is the officially correct way to talk to a screen reader in the fashion you want. Too hard to do for any audiogame to bother, but when this lands on the desk of someone at Microsoft or Apple as a feature we want, the answer they've got on their end is "but we offer enough that browsers can do aria live regions, why implement this hack". especially since for at least UIA, it's in theory nothing more than getting a UIA provider and calling one extra function (but that's Windows, and my knowledge is theoretical, not practical, so not helpful here. But mac shouldn't be much harder). The problem is that audiogames don't generally have control over the window at the level necessary to do this.Windows Narrator has the same issue, however, at least so far as I know. You can't talk to it directly. You've got to go through alive region or equivalent implemented with the accessibility API. On Windows, this is actually provided by Microsoft if you're using C#: you can just tag things in xaml and when they change a screen reader will announce it. But the difference is that on Windows, almost no one uses Narrator as their main screen reader yet, so even though this is a problem, it's not one in practice for the time being. But Narrator is actually pretty good now: if it came down to the wire and I had no other choice, I could probably code with it if I had to. So that may not be so theoretical for much longer. Re: where has this community gone to I couldn't agree more with post 21.I think mods have a greater responsibility now to maintaining this community and keeping it presentable than ever before, because our voices are finally starting to be heard in the mainstream gaming world.Cracking down on cracks (heehee) or other illegal things, is especially necessary when it's primarily indie developers that are showing interest in our community. Unlike the massive gaming studios, they need every sale they can get, and if they see paid software being freely distributed on this forum, why would they want to devote hundreds of hours designing stuff for people when said people don't even intend to pay for it anyway?I've seen this conversation come up dozens of times, and it's always the same.Besides, whatever his name is was never prevented from acquiring a mac VM, and I highly doubt the moderators care one way or the other. odds are pretty high that at least one of them has a mac VM lying around somewhere. Doing illegal things is not against the rules of the forum. Discussing illegal things or showing others how to do them with you makes the forum complicit (not literally, Ethin and others.) Anyway, those are just my scattered thoughts. I'm kind of tired so they might not be easy to follow.
