I gave this mud a try, seems to be fun; however, I had a complaint. I am not sure if i am right or not but  it seems like balance might not be the focus of the mud. I am level two thief and my throwing stars does 50 to 60 damage to mobs, can one shot level 15-20 mobs with them. perhaps it's a feature of the throwing star but it kind of put me off.

@rossIt's very hard to get mtg cards in some location, e. Iran, where i live, Sadly online play is all we haveI'm playing  forge a lot these days thanks to zack.I gree with you about online. I think it would be great if we could have forge and xmage both accessible since online play is  very exciting. Forge has the superior AI but xmage has a very good online lobby settings so you could restrict it to certain rules and suchGood news about xmage is that  everything is accessible about it except seeing the actual cards You could  easily set up lobbies and such.If we manage to find java developers to help us  improve xmage, that would be awesomeI know that people like ross have a bigger audience on twitter/youtube etc, so if you can ask for help from developers to put that final fix on xmage that would be amazing.MEanwhile though, I'm  just getting familiar with magic on forge and it is very awesome!

@everyone, Using golden cursor will save you a lot of time, because as soon as the mouse is placed somewhere, then your nbda object navigation focus jumps to there, so you can continue going left and right using nvda+numbpad 6 and 4@zklineWhich resolution is this golden cursor file for? I don't think the game supports 1920x1080, It supports 3 resolutions, which you can set with the alt menu key.  also is it for maximized client or normal?

GuysYou need to walk the opposite direction of the long beep that guides you.This is an interesting concept for sure, because once you walk opposite of the guiding beep, it fades and lets you to hear the other things.

I do have a feedback about the soundsThe way the sounds are positioned is excellent, good audio engineering!However some of the sounds are unnecessarily very loud and When passing through them it does really hurt my ears. So i really don't like some of the very loud beeps that are in the demo and you have to pass through them.By the way guys, just press R so the game autowalks you through the demo environment, but be aware there are some annoying loud areas that it takes you through

Rashid just one thing to note,Don't put two ships in one survey fleet, I think it's not efficient at all to do that.You'll basically burn fuel, deployment time and maintenance life for two ships to survey one body at a time.Create two survey fleets, like, Earth space survey alpha and earth space survey bravo.then, give both of them the standing order of  survey near bodies.This way, your two ships will head out in different directions and will cover the system from  two directions.Remember, a fleet consists of ships that are at the exact same location. Two ships in a fleet cannot be in different locations. This is a very strict rule.

@majnojust go to the movement taband then press tab, go past the checkboxesand  you will see the  movement orders!The issue is the tab order, You have to go past the checkboxes. and, if by the way, the list of locations does not include moons or asteroids, you have to check the boxes for them to appear.

@milos I see a few issues with this design.1. Do you have no maintenance checkbox checked in game creation? If not, then this ship will only last for 6 months in space! then you need to bring it for an overhaul! add more engineering spaces to your ship to increase this!2. The deployment time is 3 months. This is generally not good for a survey ship, because you don't want to micromanage it every three months. set it to 24 months or 36 months, so your crew can feel comfortable  exploring your system  for a longer time.3. Your engine is way, way underpowered. You have a good technology for engines,but you're not properly using it. make it larger! make it like 40 to 60 hull size. decrease its power to like 70% or 80% to reduce the rate of which it eats fuel.4. Aim for between 15-20 billion km range with your fuel tanks, If you want this ship to explore the sol system only. Aim between  150 to 250 billion, If you want to use this ship later on to go explore other systems, I don't recommend the second option right now for you.5. You have unnecessary equipment on ship. Active sensors are for ships that have weapons and for combat scout ships. they are not used for survey ships.Reactors are for powering weapons, you don't need it for ships that have no weapons, at all.6. Add small em sensors and maybe small thermal sensors to your survey ships that are sent to explore other systems, (not your current system). As they allow you to detect other colonies and ships.7. Add two or three normal geological sensors, not one. I like more survey points. maybe two geo sensors and two grav, if you want this  ship to start looking for jump points when it's done surveying sol.7. Everyone does different things on aurora, someone wants to do things  optimally, someone does not. someone likes heavy ships someone doesn't.

An issue with the standing order, survey nearest bodies.This order will work until your ship can't detect any bodies within 10 billion KM distance from itself, at which point it will tell you it can't  survey anymore. You have two options after this.1. Go to the system view, find the bodies that have not been surveyed, send your ship to manually survey one of them, and then set it to automatically survye more nearby.2. go to spacemaster and mark your system as completely surveyed. This is cheating of course, but  last time on aurora vb6, when i had 15 systems under control, I could not micromanage my survey ships one by one, so once they couldn't survey more, i marked the system as completely surveyed with space master.

armor layers and deployment time.In ship design there are two unlabeled edit boxes.one is set to 1, one is set to 3.The first one is the armor layers that you can add to your combat ships.The second one, very important to military ships, including survey ships, is your deployment time in months., for example, set it to 36 months, (set it to 36 up from 3) and your ship will become heavier as it automatically adds  more crew rooms.When your deployment clock ends for each ship, your crew morale drops, and their performance decrease.Remember, commercial ships don't need the deployment time, which is set to 3, changed! don't change it for them! because their morale won't drop.Commercial ships include cargo ships, mining ships,  harvesters, colony ships, fuel tankers, ETC.Also remember. If you want your ship to be classified as commercial, your engine must not be smaller than 25 hullsize, and its power must not be higher than negative 50%, -50%And adding military equipment to your ship will classify it as a military ship.For example, a thermal sensor bigger size than 1.A lot of research for you, and hours and hours of reading and listening to videos.Listen to the playlist i posted. It's not all you need. it will give you 40% of the things you need to know. 30% of the other you need to read from  forums and wiki, and 30% of it you need to experiment and learn.

In ship design, there's a radio button control, you can choose between race components and class components.Race components is the available parts you can double click to addclass components will show you the parts that you have added to the design. double click to remove them.

Accessibility improvements has been made since release.Right now, because of the amount of major bugs in the game, There won't be any accessibility improvements i think for at least a month.However, keep in mind that the game is  almost up to 90% accessible.All you need is hours and hours of your time to dedicate to learning the game.All the major accessibility issues was solved  days after release by the way. Now there's only a few issues left

So, for those who'd like to play but have no idea how the game is actually played.This game is turned based. what you do is, you do a few things, for example, turn on auto assignment in the commanders window, assign someone as the governer of earth, set research projects, use 100% of your industry to build more factories and mines, and then, when you feel like you've done enough for now. you tab onto a button called auto turn. this button is a checkbox, but to us it appears as a button. press this once.Now that auto turn is on. open a window called events log. this is the main window that will tell you what's going on in your empire.Now go back to the main game window, and go find a button called 5 days.Note that there are two 5 days button. you want the first one. the second time controls are not to be messed with for now.After pressing 5 days, the game starts going forward in time. your research will go on the way, your buildings are built, ETC.Check the events log now. by the time you're there, the game has paused, because it reached a point where it needs your attention.So again, you go back. you build more, research more, design  components, make ships. order ships around, do  more  things, and then again, go to the 5 days button or 30 days, and press it, and wait till something happens.This game is complex, You need hours and hours of time to learn it and there are also some issues that we'll try to make the developer aware of, but because he is busy with major bug fixes, we'll have to live with them for now, for example the auto turn checkbox.tip: If you want to create a new game, open game window, then, you actually have to press the new game button!

What the hell is the actual purpose of Aurora?I'd like to start by saying that aurora started as a tool to assist people with a board game called starfire under a different game and then it started becoming its own game.Even then, It is still used as a tool to roleplay. You create your empire the way you want, You research on the things you care, You design the ships the exact way you want and begin  developing a story and you can then write that story down for yourself or others to enjoy.Regardless to say, Aurora requires a little bit of math when designing ships and also when deciding on what to build.On the question of what you are supposed to do in this game.You build up your starting planet, You make survey ships. (that includes designing engines and your actual ship). you send your survey ships out to survey more planets. You begin colonizing other planets or mine their resources with remote mines, stations or mining ships. you expand, terraform, begin building combat fleets. and start finding other species. you form allies or  begin skirmishing. you micromanage fuel for your fleet, begin creating outposts and forward bases. you bombard other planets or begin deploying ground forces, (that you actually have to design from scratch).All of these things that i mentioned however are not simple things to do. You don't colonize a planet by just pressing a few buttons. You have to see what the  colonization cost is, e.g. if your species can handle living on that planet, then you need to send your cargo ships to unload infrastructure on the planet, then you need to design colony ships and begin transporting people there.There are more fun things in the game as well, for example civilian ships who will trade  within your empire, take contracts for you to do your work.

If you want huge damage right off the bat go with polearms or somethin' but a shield and sword, later upgradable to two swords is not a bad idea. and remember you can always  learn new weapon skills. there is no cap, you will still get gold and earn tier points after level 100

You can organize mob hunting and talk about the game all you want, It's just  destroying other player's immersion is a bad idea, hence the mud is set to rp-enforced.I can understand your frustration though because we've games like star conquest where mentioning a word of ooc in the game will get you punished. This is  not a game like that. If you like to play the game and enjoy the game mechanics you can! Just don't run around talking about the latest Netflix series you just finished! (This last part was directly from Dayrinni himself lol)

Just remember if you're an agent or rogue and rely on dodging and moving fast, you at least need leather armor  from level 20 or above because you will get hit hard by  the mobs and you need armor to protect you, so your best choice is armor:leatherwhen you are up to level 30, then you will buy leather armor with steel protectionSo  definitely get the armor:leather skill and practice it

Ok so a few thingsYou can delete your character. log in to your character, and type delete now, then delete confirmNow, regarding armor.As far as i know, there is armor, (covers legs, chest, head and arms) and there's clothings (grants affects, and for roleplay reasons)Now. when it comes to armor and weapons, there are  basically five materials each one being much much more expensive than the other one.1. starting armor and weapons, which is wood/copper/leather2. steel. that includes steel plated leather armor, steel plated chain armor, steel plated plate armor.3. Orinsteel4. Platinum5. TitaniumFor buying newbie  equipment and steel you only need gold  but any other material higher than that you need to loot ore and turn them to ingots in the ironworks shop and then  buy your equipments with gold and ingots.IF you want to have a good idea of how it looks like, you have to start wearing steel armor from level 30. earlier if you manage to buy one, then  better!same with weapons.Don't forget to inspect your weapons before buying. some are one handed and some two!And don't forget, one handed weapons deal much less damage than two handed ones, because you can double wield them  or wield them with a shield. I recommend two handed weapons as a starting weapon.

@everyoneDayrinni is  watching this topic and seeing dark's suggestions have implemented two commandswealthscore basicTry them and let us know how they are!@honkIf you like hack and slash you should love this game there is huge amounts of mob killing if you'd like to get onto high levels and mobs have different traits and different abilities for you to discover and deal with. in any case, thanks for tyring and hope to see you there.@Xoren, The admins are watching but i will make sure to deliver your feedback about in game methods of game communications; however, Because of how great discord is, I see a huge number of developers using it as their main method of communication; It's cross platform, you can take it with you anywhere there's a great mention system, etc.Despite of it being in beta for a notable amount of time, the game was released in 2019 so please report any typos and suggest as many things as you can!edit: I believe those two commands are added in game but they won't work until the mud has been restarted. Regarding dragon. It is a different concept I advise to stay away from it. It may be boring for  a very long time. You need to get to level 100 and after that you become a young dragon, and will get more skills for your second run of level 100. The race is for dedicated players who love the game and are planning to stay for a very very long time.Regardless, if you enjoy what it does go for it!

@dark, If that's the only thing that bothers you then at higher level it wouldn't anymore, because the progress would be much more harder! But  yeah gold keeps coming in and coming in as you keep visiting new areas.IF i have not mentioned this before, i updated the config heading, you can use the config message command to make your combat brief if the flavor message is annoying you.By the way when you go to the town, the blademaster has a quest called protecting TralisiaThis is a special quest and keeps recommending new areas for you as you level up for you to kill mobs on. I will explain this in another post I have to go walk my dog!

@honkI don't quite understand your reason you gave for not playing the game, probably because english is not my first language either!The admins on this game are very relaxed, They won't ask you to change your name unless it's something ridiculous like adolf hitler. They don't force you to roleplay either. People on discord organize groups for  mob killing and i noticed some people just roleplay by nodding and shrugging and saying a few words. You don't have to throw four lines of speeches or emotes but if you do, you'll find people like you who enjoy doing it and there are rp helpers who will reward you and give you bonuses for involving yourself in the story!My name is based on a Persian hero and admins have no issues with it. Their philosophy is to enjoy the game not forcing and punishing players on the basis of roleplaying

quests can range from killing mobs, retrieving items,  finding things in the shadows or just you know quests that you have to guess and figure out yourself.There is unfortunately no crafting system but the way the game systems are set it can be done in the near future, i believe the admins mentioned 2021 for crafting systems perhaps.Honestly the only  great crafting system i've enjoyed is hellmoo's. The other  muds that i tried either had a boring crafting system or one where you pay to get better so i avoid them completely

Training and practicing skills.There are three ways to raise a skill in A Tempest season.1. train them directly, costs a lot of gold and tier points at higher levels.2. practice them by using ability points on them. this will increase the progress of your skill and then you will train them for free.3.  practice them by using your skill. this will increase the progress of your skill and then you can train them for free.use the commands practice to practice yuor skills when you're near a trainer, then use the train command to actually raise your skills. Do not train your skills  first because it will cost you a lot of gold!
