Everything always said see this in your mind, imagine light, etc. I forget where I first read this, but eventually I came across something that said that hey, visualization isn't always seeing something. It can involve any and all senses. Now if I want to do something involving light, I can just imagine what sunlight or a bright flashlight feels like. Color though, that's tricky. I would probably use tones or temperature for that. Re: I am affronted by the presence of god If I understand things correctly, suffering and all that exists today because we turned away from God. This could have been a perfect world. It all started when Adam and Eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. I suppose those angels who turned away from God and joined the devil coming down and mating with mortals didn't help either. Supposedly Christ is supposed to come back and fix everything, but no one knows when that'll be. So when we say that God can't or won't fix everything, that's not entirely correct, according to the narrative. It's apparently not the right time to do it. That is if all that is true anyway. Why it needs to take 2000+ years, I have no idea.Also, anyone who doesn't accept Christ's sacrifice goes to hell along with the devil and his angels. It doesn't matter how much good someone does. If they don't follow Christ, they're screwed on Judgment Day. Apparently God doesn't want anyone to go to hell, but if people choose to turn away from him he has no choice but to send them there, because free will and all that. That's partly why I think Christianity is mostly a way to control people. I say mostly, because some good things have been done in the name of Christianity as well. I don't think I ever truly called myself a Christian, but I was always taught that God exists and is always there. I don't recall ever being taught to fear God, however. I once went to a blind Christian camp and they basically enforced the idea that God loves us and wants us to be with him. Basically a very simple version of Christianity. They probably hoped that we would study more on our own after we went home.As time went on, I got interested in things like energy work, magic, crystals, and the concept of the Force from Star wars. I didn't think too much about whether or not there was a god. I just believed what made sense to me at the time.Everything's made of energy? Okay, why not? Science pretty much says everything is made of the same stuff anyway.Crystals affecting your energy body with their vibrations? No real scientific evidence for it, but why not? Apparently everything vibrates, and maybe crystals do vibrate in specific ways that can affect people somehow. Who can say for sure?Magic? Hmm. Maybe not like the magic in fiction, but why not? To this day I do wonder what the real limits are if magic truly exists. It's always fun to speculate anyway.Psychic abilities such as telepathy, psychokinesis, etc. Again, no real evidence, but why not? We don't know everything about everything, so maybe it's possible.The Force is what makes the most sense to me. The Force in the real world shares some aspects with the Force depicted in Star Wars, and it's actually not a new concept. Lucas didn't just invent it out of thing air. I suppose one could say that anything involving energy work is all the same thing, and we can just call it the Force. Life gives off energy. Heck, even non-living things give off some sort of energy. All that energy is all around us, and maybe it somehow connects everything. It also sort of answers the question of what happens to us when we die. We become one with the Force. Whether there's consciousness after death is something else entirely. Now whether or not that energy can be used to affect the physical world similar to the Jedi in star Wars, I don't know for sure.So, what changed? That's simple. Someone tried converting me to Christianity. We had many debates/arguments, and I will admit that I was afraid at one point. Afraid because God, for one reason or another, absolutely forbids anyone to use magic or anything else that doesn't come from him. If you don't follow him, if you don't repent, if you do things like practice magic, you go to hell where you will burn for all of time and then some simply because you dare to defy him. There are also no marshmallows to roast. It was quite psychologically distressing.At some point, I concluded that this is extremely unreasonable, and that God couldn't be how he's depicted by Christianity. God must be extremely misrepresented. Who in their right mind would be such a jerk all while claiming that they love everyone? Sounds like a bit of an abusive relationship to me. Do as I say, or burn forever when you die! Oh but wait. We're all saved as long as we accept that Christ died on the cross for our sins, because that really makes sense. Especially when you consider that he was brought back in a few days, and that he's really part of a trinity/God himself. So God sent himself down an died so we could be saved from his judgement, when all he really had to do was just forgive everyone. Right then. Sorry. Makes absolutely zero sense in the real world. It's an interesting story though, and if people want to believe it, that's cool. No judgement here.Add to that that there are so many demoninations of Christianity, all telling us that they have the monopoly on truth. We can't even all agree how to worship this god of ours. Some churches even use different versions of the Bible. But wait, there's more! There are classes one can take that teach how the Bible's supposed to be interpreted based on the original Hebrew, because apparently the English translation isn't understandable enough and we need help. How the heck does this even make any sense at all? Why wouldn't the Bible just been innately understandable by believers in the first place? God supposedly wants people to come to him. Why make it extra difficult? Oh. Right. Satan. Of course. Has to be.There's more, but this is getting long as it is. Suffice it to say that if this kind of thing is what keeps people going and gives them hope, great. Sometimes it does inspire people to be better people. Sometimes lives really are turned around. I've seen it happen. Whether it was the holy Spirit or just their own desire to change, I can't say for sure. But so much of it makes no sense to me.So after realizing all this, it came to me. If I'm sitting here saying that God can't possibly be real as far as Christianity goes, then how can I possibly also sit here and say that anything else

PayPal and chromium browsers. This month I noticed that PayPal seems a bit broken when using it with Chrome or Edge Chromium. Logging in works, but when trying to send money, form controls don't seem to be recognized after entering an email address and pressing next or choosing a contact. The controls must be there however, as tabbing through the page reveals areas in which nothing is spoken at all. Interestingly, this doesn't happen if I choose to repeat a transaction.Tested with both JAWS and Narrator, and neither can find the form controls. Tested with Internet Explorer of all things, and the controls show up just fine. Haven't tested with Firefox as I don't have it installed. This leads me to believe that there's some sort of conflict with PayPal and Chromium browsers. According to my research, this wouldn't be the first time either, but this is the first time I've experienced an issue. I contacted PayPal support, and some person who clearly doesn't have very good English skills (no offense to anyone here who doesn't either) told me to simply clear the cache and cookies, which didn't do a thing to fix the issue. Also turned off my uBlock Origin to see if that was the issue, and it was not.Any ideas? I don't know how to look for web accessibility issues myself, unfortunately. You can also do an in-place upgrade that'll just reinstall Windows without removing your apps and settings, and that doesn't require removable media. After doing some research, I discovered that there's a compatibility issue with the current stable release of Dropbox and the current version of ESET NOD32.If anyone running Dropbox and ESET NOD32 encounters this issue, try disabling SSL filtering or adding Dropbox as an exclusion. SSL filtering settings are in advanced settings under web and email protection and protocol filtering. The next version of Dropbox is supposed to fix this issue, so once that installs you can turn filtering back on or remove the exclusion. Re: strange issue with my windows It's basically a disorderly shutdown. Programs don't have a chance to properly close and files that are in the process of being written could end up damaged. The only time you should do that is if the OS is in such a state that a normal shutdown isn't possible. What probably happened is that Windows ran a chkdsk before booting and fixed something. They've always been the type that go behind the ear.Before things got really bad I could use headphones without them. My first pair had telephone coils, so I would turn on telephone mode and put the headphones near them. The downside was that I couldn't hear anything else. Later on when I got new hearing aids without telephone coils, I just wore my headphones so that the band was on my forehead and the headphones were on the sides of my head near the hearing aid microphones. My implant has a little microphone that goes near the opening of the ear, so I can now wear them normally. I can still use the old trick to use the other microphones though if something's too quiet for that microphone. We used to be able to delete our own topics, but some would create topics that violated the rules then delete them before they could get into trouble.Then there are those who just mass-delete their topics when leaving. Some of those topics may have useful information, and it's rather unfortunate when those sorts of topics are lost.. Still, I'm not fond of just having things taken away when I have no plans to misuse them either. So, I agree. Would love to see that ability brought back for everyone, and it could be disabled on a per user basis if someone can't be responsible. And if people really want to delete a bunch of their own topics, that's on them even though it's rather silly. I believe most litter boxes come with a scoop. You don't have to touch the litter, but if you find doing so helpful, I'd recommend wearing gloves. At the very least wash your hands when you're done.There are also litter boxes that will self-clean and all you have to do is empty the waste compartment when it gets full. There are many kinds, and some can be pretty expensive. Yes I know I'm missing out on some things, as there are things that work better on a smartphone than a PC. There are also things that you can do only on a smartphone, because that's how the current market is. The fact that those of us who choose not to get a smartphone are left out of things or have a harder time doing things on a PC pisses me off too. It's what I call device discrimination. I'm mostly talking about companies that have a great accessible smartphone app, but their web interface sucks and they refuse to fix it. Then because most people use smartphones instead of PCs now, those of us who use PCs get stuck with bloated Electron web apps instead of real apps written in real programming languages. Anyway, that's all I have to say about that here, since it's starting to hijack the thread. Lol.
