Re: Monthly chat, December 2020

The snes controller sounds awesome, albeit I've always been more of a classic fighting joystick fan myself (never got the hole business of pressing most joypad buttons with the thumbs and barely using fingers), one reason I rather ironically find playing on keyboard less of a chore. Unfortunately, things have been pretty dismal at the moment. My mum's old guide dog who I've always had a very special bond with, died two days ago. She was 15, which is going pretty well for a very small  black Labrador, but still basically my mum is in a mess. Then again, since we weren't' exactly social butterflies before hand and the town we're living in isn't exactly interesting or full of like minded people, this hardly makes too much difference, other than missing off to occasional trips to cafes or the cinema, and on the plus side this does give us plenty of time for curling up together ordering pizza and watching through audio described buffy the vampire slayer together. The only slightly disappointing thing, is that while I watched buffy on Dvd between 2014 and 2018, I never expected to get it described, so had a habbit of talking to my lady about it, which means, now she's getting to see it for herself, she unfortunately has a very disobliging habit of remembering spoilers .

Things have been going pretty well this month, although not everything was all sunshine and rainbows. Unfortunately I lost an uncle near the beginning of this month. He passed away early in the morning because of drugs.Other than that, it's been pretty well. With some Christmas money I had, I got a new controller in the mail from Amazon on Christmas Eve, specifically an 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ bluetooth gamepad. Basically, it's an SNES controller, but with added grips, analog sticks, and analog triggers, and 8bitdo has a software utility where you can customize everything on this controller, from buttom mapping, trigger/stick sensitivity, rumble sensitivity, and even create button macros. I mainly bought it for use on my Android phone (I bought the official smartphone clip for this controller separately), but it also makes a good controller for PC, the Mac, and the Nintendo Switch. In addition I also bought some merch from a Twitch streamer who I'm close friends with, more specifically a shirt (she had a new shirt up on her merch store so I wanted to get that).Lastly I did buy a new game on Steam, Blaster Master Zero.

@Dark eagle, nothing wrong with acting like a gentleman in the good sense, really you should meet my dad who even has the mutton chop whiskers, knows exactly which tie to wear with which suit, carries a walking cane and honestly behaves like someone who lost the 19th century .Christmas dinner actually turned out okay, which I'm quite pleased about, though I suspect that's more a credit to our fantastic socialist butcher than to my doubtful culinary skills, since mostly what I did was chuck stuff in oven/microwave at the right time and strategically employ tin foil :d. Still it was a nice day all round which was good, and yee gods, we listened to a lot of carrols, since we did the country's top 30 from 1-3 on classic fm, followed by the story of carrols for three hours in the evening while we had christmas dinner. I never knew the dark and serious Peter Warnock Carrol Bethlehem down (which has a fantastically grim version sung by Alexander armstrong), was basically composed because Peter warnock needed drinking money and stuck it in a contest, or that driving home for Christmas was basically thought of during a really miserable christmas commute in a snow bound traffic jam .

It mostly happened because of the dost.Well at least I have Jeremy Bret's acting to accompany me. And of course, baffling my mother and sister with acting like a Victorian age gentalman is an amusement of its own.But I think everyone knows in my house that I am far from a gentalman.

Wow, don't believe I've not posted in this monthly chat up to now, though things have been pretty crappy lately.Either way, Merry Christmas everyone whose celibrating today, and to people who've already celibrated various festivals this time of year, mid winter etc, hope it was fun. We're having a rather quiet Christmas at the moment, though people might be impressed with what my lady got me, a full set of all 15 alamantic viles from the mistborn universe!  each with it's correct metal. Other than that, rather quiet at the moment, actually it's a bit odd that this is the first time in my life I am going to attempt to cook Christmas dinner, fortunately we have an awesome local butcher who provides amazingly good stuff, such as a really nice turkey joint, pigs in blankets (that's sausages wrapped in bacon), and two sorts of stuffing. So those with some vegetables should be nice. We've also got oddly enough more chocolates and sweets this year than a little, most provided by my parents in addition to some of my mum's baking, everything from pralines, to truffles biscuits to some very nice german Lebkuchen, so methinks I'll need to be keeping up with the zombies rather hard otherwise I'll end up looking like father Christmas myself before next year . Hope everyone else is having a good time.

(A really unpleasant way to wake up I am sure.)Also, I am looking for a solution. Does anyone knows a way for NVDA to work with the commands like shift + space to pause a video on youtube? If this is a wrong place to ask, I'll just create a topic for this question.(Though I rather avoid it. discord is much more prefered for such questions.)That reminds me, I'll go and install discord again.

So, returning here after my hard disk crashed, and due to my own stupidity of not backing up things, I lost two years worth of practice source code.I understand if some experienced developer is laughing after reading that, but seriously, you just don't realize at my level how much useful the practice source code could be.But of course, that was not the only thing which I lost. I lost my notes of my fanfic, my original story's notes, all the ideas I noted down, basically everything since I never thought that a hard disk would crash on me.I have learned my lesson though, and there will be backups. and the backups of the backups, and even more backups! So I never experience this feeling of stupidity ever again.

I don't know about boxing day, but I certainly have been watching a lot of boxing in past few days, which is a strange thing since it is very hard to see something outside of cricket, football, or pro wrestling in Indian tv.I suppose that is a good reason to keep the Euro sports around. As for me, I am almost done with _javascript_, and though I seem to have gotten over the trauma of java, (Just joking,) I do seem to have gotten myself in new headaches. Also, I actually tried to publish my articles on Medium few months ago, but I found out that their interface doesn't work well at all. I did made everything else work, but I couldn't find the publish button at all.I put a complain, I had a nice back and forth with one of the support guys, and nothing actually was ever done."Fuck it." I decided, "I'll just create my own blog."Then I ran head first into some other problems, as you probably can understand, creating and starting a blog isn't easy.It doesn't help that I do have to learn several other things, mainly node.js, git, TypeScript... the backlog is kind of swamping me currently.I do think that once I got creating and designing the site, and web hosting, I'll wouldn't have much trouble with advertising for the blog.Of course, for that I have to learn to use jekyll... Another thing in the backlog.

Hello everyone! How are you doing, hope all well. So, 29 days remaining for the year to end.@2, congrats. I would like to read it when you are done. If it's fine with you I thought the same way, I would achieve something good in 2020, but well, same story like everybody else. Let's just keep motivated ourselves with a message, This, Shall, To, pass.I am focusing more on my studies then anything else, as I have exams coming after 3 or 4 months, and they play important role in shaping my career choices. Uninstalled all games until then.Anyways, I and somebody close to me  have been working on a small poem related to poor and the Pandemic, I've amended the words so that it becomes proper rime. hahaha! So, here it is.We go here and there in search of livelihood & foodBut this pandemic struck our footWe Fought entire time for shelter and foodDue to pandemic we get only loofsOur plight is telecasted as a show of entertainment But no worry in this world we get attainmentWe want to live with full of dignity and honorOur circumstances led to full of horrorwe are human being not bunch of animalsOur demand is to stop politicize and make it manual Now time has come to take our rights No matter who is there we will fightOur plight is not our weakness it's our fortune We will come again to rise our fortune again. There are many mistakes I know, right? But writing poetry feels good. I would like to make my self creative, and will take time Haven't glanced any novel for a long time, so, what book should I go for? All suggestion accepted!Stay healthy, stay safe!

I also found a site where you get paid to write articles about wood working, and my father and I agreed that if I wrote up the articles, i'd get 20% of the cash and he keeps the rest. Hopefully things should straighten out by the rainy season. We'll also probably be going bac out to school, which is quite cherry to say the least. Eitherways, I hope everyone stays safe, and I hope you all enjoy Christmas, and Boxing Day if you're in the commonwealth.

Re: Monthly chat December 2019

Well, the winter season is fully upon us the Indians, and may I say that over all, this year has given me one of the most peaceful festivals in quite a long time, whether it be Christmas, or Diwali. I... jostjust don't enjoy too much human contact, except for my family, around whom I live 24-7.Now, I did have a nice time in the terms of human contact, but health wise, I could really use some better luck. around 24 December, I suffered from a throat infection the likes of which I have never experienced before. thankfully, I have recovered from it, but still, it left me with a coughing problem, for which I went to the doctor and got another medison for it.This, naturally interupted my HTML and CSS classes, since I was running full throttle at them, having covered the HTML in around one and a half weaks, while the CSS is currently going on. while learning this, I got an understanding of how many things we take for granted while browsing at the web, and the changes for screenreaders needed to make things work.Truth to be told though, I have more trouble with the visual elements than I I prefer. maybe once I am done with this course, I should ask to learn the backend? who knows, it may prove to be easier.I finally got to around reading the Spellmonger, and I will admit, the book is nice, maybe I will go through the hole series. I currently at the first book. With that said, I do however, have some complains. first is, while I do enjoy magic, what I don't like is the  medieval setting. why couldn't we have magical books with modern day fantasy lands? even if everything is original?Other thing is, while spellmonger provides nice magic system, I do think I am looking for a magical ssystem which is more like science. haven't found something like though yet.

Hy!Not so many things to talk about, are there?First things first, as everyone knows, cristmass is upon us, so I will have quite abit of fun here in romania, I think.Second, I came up with an idea for a, maybe not so exciting, audiogame, trying to make it for android and, as this could be my first  mobile app, I am learning the android api, the lifecycle of an activity, intents, content providers, etc from scratch, so yeah.I plan to use .net for the game, so I must use the xamarin.android plugin for vs, but I have some problems with the sdk, so wish me luck, wouldn't you? Finally, I begun the malazan book of the follen last month, so I want to finish it till this ones end. Note: I am currently reading the fourth book, house of chains, and finding it wanderful and exciting so far.I think this is all, but if I die or something, here I will announce it first.

Re: Monthly chat December 2019

Thanks for the good wishes people. I confess we've had a pretty bad few days, particularly because Mrs. Dark is now getting very upset because the chemo she took is making her hair fall out, which I confess I find quite upsetting as well. So, not great over here right now. I was able to do a bunch of crimbo shopping though, and we have a rather lovely carol service on Friday to go to. It's a favourite of mine since there are not only the usual hymns but also poetry, funny stories and usually some nice punch as well with all the candles lit. For the past couple of years we usually took along a couple of duettes to do, we do a quite lovely duette version of walking in the air from the snowman, but Mrs. Dark isn't thinking she could sing well enough this year to get it to really work. Whether I'll do something I don't know, but the carols will at least be fun.@vaibhavbhandari, the winter fate sounds good, though part of that might just be me thinking that a hot place like India sounds pretty inviting at the moment given that weather  England is even more horrible than it is usually .@moaddye, there are lots of good muds around if you look depending upon what your interested in. If you want a general game I'd of course suggest alteraeon, (particularly with the soundpack), for space based crafting cosmic rage, for exploration and probably one of the most unique crafting systems ever flexible survival, (though bare in mind it's a moderately adult game), for pure combat hack n slash erion or aardwolf, for roleplaying and realistic crafting and survival clok, , and for questing and discovery frandom. I've also heard good things about lensmoor and the recent asturia, but I need to get into those more myself, I also need to make a really consistant effort with avalon, albeit at the moment I'm mostly playing browser games and audiogames more than muds.

If you are talking about the sight I think you are, then as far as I remember, there is a link from where you could email the sight administrator. You should try that. @Dark Eagle, I live in Delhi. @Dark, I hope that mrs. Dark will start feeling good soon and her theropy goes well. Nothing much going on here. The only interesting thing that is going to happen is our winter fate at our school. I am really excited for the rides and games that will be there. Re: Monthly chat December 2019

@Dark Eagle, A professional programmer friend of mine told me Java and _javascript_ are not the same thing. He was a huge fan of Java and not of _javascript_ and would get most irritated at the similarity in names which according to him happened because Java was so popular .I've not got the pacience to start on pushups . Indeed, I need to be careful with lifting my weights since if it's taking too long it becomes harder to do each day, and I know myself I won't bother, this is where zombies run is good, since being able  to run to the end of a zombie mission or do weights in order to get resources to build my base is a helpful reminder to keep going. As I said previously, I've now got my stride length set so I can do 20-25 minutes running on my trampoline which equals 5k, so I can do other races and such. I finished venus rising which actually was pretty awesome, since it's surprising how jazzed I got when doing the hole "running through exploding space station across collapsing bridges" thing, even though creepy sf body horror didn't really seem to go with running at the start. I don't know if Zombies run plan another series of venus rising, but it was fun. Unfortunately, I need to complete some random race missions before starting on season 2. This is annoying since some of them are 10 and 20 k, and whilst the game recommends stopping in the middle, which I'll probably have to do, I don't like  the idea of breaking my missions up, since it's always running until I get that "mission complete" notification that keeps me going. In other news, I'm playing manamon 2, but also giving  station a try, and trying to actually  some of my stories published, though not sure how that is working out so far.Mrs. Dark has also not been feeling great, though not half as bad as the other weekend thank goodness. Hopefully she'll be able to enjoy a break before starting the radio therapy in January, and also hopefully that will sort things out.

Hello there. haven't posted in this thread for a while. mainly dew to the fact that I kind of lost my will to do anything. you know, playing chess, programming, and anything which I like in general.Thankfully, it appears that I am getting the feeling back slowly.@vaibhavbhandari:Where exactly do you live? the temperature is actually quite unstable where I live in, mainly floating within the range of 13 to 16 during the night time and the morning, and 26 or 27 at the day time.As for the running, good job at the third position, nice to know that there are other people in this forum who take care of their physical condition. Dark may remember that I posted that I have managed to do 50 push ups, at once, but sadly I have fallen behind again. must achieve it back.As for other things, no movies and such I am afraid. but football is quite popular for now here, mainly because of ISL,. too bad that I don't have any personal memories of this sport, unlike cricket. At least one more good thing happened this month. I have a new teacher, who is teaching me web development. except...There is no easy way to put this, so please bare with me. according to him, there is no work with the languages of c, or c++, Bangalor, which is the IT hub of India, doesn't use php, and you need the knowledge of java to use _javascript_.I don't know about the first few things, I wish in this moment that I personally know a coder (Blind or otherwise,) who would confirm these things to me, or it is just in India. but I do no for the fact that the java and _javascript_ have the only one thing in common among them, and that is the word java. nothing more.Anyway, see you later guys, hope you have a nice December, can't believe that this decade is about to end.

Re: Monthly chat December 2019

@vaibhavbhandari, I am a staff reviewer on the site fantasybookreview.co.uk. All my reviews can be Found here. Well Frozen 2 was fun. aCtually it was one of those films where I was glad to be sitting at the front of the cinemar, since there was a lot of pretty stuff that even my limited vision could make use of, though of course it was handy to have the audio description. I was a little shocked when the tickets initially were going to cost £19.50 for the two of us, that is about 25 dollars, which is probably more than I'd pay for the film on dvd. Apparently, cinemars put prices up of popular films, which is down right scummy! Luckily, the nice lady at the ticket desk fudged things a little and charged us the disabled rate plus companion, which basically meant we paid for just the one adult ticket not to, so it was £9.75, which is a lot more reasonable.the film wasn't bad and had a lot of great moments. I'm not sure if I agree with my brother that the new "into the unknown" song is better than let it go, but it was good  hear anyway. My more serious problem was that while a lot of the moments, the humour and generally the fun stuff were good on their own, as a hole it was rather lacking in places, indeed the plot wasn't so much coherent as a random adventure which tacked together a hole bunch of awesome visual and singing sequences, which even started to feel a wee bit indulgent, I mean I don't  need Elsa to tell us  awesome she and her magic are yet again thanks, especially with another "I can go off and be awesome on my own" sequence. Then again, the explanation of Elsa's magic and the lore of the world was interesting here, albeit I did find the answer that came up a bit too obvious.I was also glad Christof got his own song this time, and a rather wonderfully cheesy eighties pop balad at that, though I was sorry how  sidelined he felt here. anna I think was the biggest disappointment, since basicaly she spent most of the film complaining at people, dangling after Elsa who was pretty capable of being awesome on her own (she tells us so herself), and basically ignoring and mistreating christof. indeed, while I really like the frozen characters and how flawed  Ana and Elsa are in the first film, I did feel this second offering went a bit too far with the, "female characters must be flaweless and awesome and can't do anything wrong" trope, which so badly affected people like Jasmin in the remake of aladin, as well  as Ray in Starwars, and apparently captain Marval as well, although that's not one I've seen. IIndeed, for me it's overcoming flaws that makes characters awesome, of whatever gender, but hay. Then again, on the plus side, much of the film was fun, and I loved some of the rather meta humour from the first film, including the sequence when Olaff explains the plot to a bunch of rather bemused people, which reminded me of the sequence in return of the jedi where C3PO is trying to explain the plot of starwars to the Ewoks .Actually in general Olaff was a lot of fun in this one, although with the film's focus being generally less coherent, a lot of his words of wisdom didn't quite fall as true as they did the last time around. Oh, and also we noticed a return of another proud disney tradition, the crappy pop version of the principle song over the credits .So in general Frozen 2 gets a cautious pass from me, albeit it's more like a set of awesome songs and sequences put together with a random adventure, rather than anything new in it's own right, and while it does explore the world a bit, there weren't  any major revelations along the way. Speaking of Starwars, we'll probably go and see that later this month with my brother and his fiance, though I confess after last Jedi, also known as the character assassination of Luke Skywalker, we're rather waiting in dread .

If you do, so can you provide me a link to that website where you post them? As for me, today has mostly been a nice and interesting day with all the fun. For some insane reason, I have decided to sleep early and wake up at 4 AM. In my life till now, I have never been able to do that so just thought that I would have a go at it. Wheel of time particularly is a series she loves, I enjoyed them myself, albeit books 6-10 are a bit of a slog, though if you can get through to book 10 the series really picks up towards the end.A game I often play with my lady is deciding what Aja various friends and acquaintances would be if they were aes sidai, I even bought her a great serpent ring a couple of years ago which she wears permanently opposite her wedding ring, along with an Aja pendent in loo of a shawl. She initially thought she was yellow Aja, but she's so blatantly and absolutely green it's not funny, since for a very gentle person she can't half get irate about injustice, plus she definitely has the green attitude towards men, me in particular. I also have a matching set of Ashaman Dragon cufflinks myself, since I'm definitely more an Ashaman than a warder, though if you've only just started the series you probably won't have got to the Ashaman yet . @vaibhavbhandari, good luck with the athletics. I'm afraid running with zombies run and lifting my weights is the closest I get these days, then again I've never really been the competitive type anyway and am exercising now primarily for purposes of maintaining energy levels. As for me,  going to get pancakes, then we're off to see frozen 2 today, which should be good. I'm also playing Manamon 2 at the moment as people will gather from general game discussion, as well as checking in on my Trimp's occasionally and  reading through the Talisman by Peter Straub and Stephen King, which is a book I've been meaning to read for quite a long while. It's good thus far, and I'll probably be writing a review, though yee gods it's long. Yesterday I also finished Venus rising on zombies run. I admit, creepy scifi horror whilst running your legs off really didn't seem to match, though I have to say the concluding part was very cool, it was surprising how awesome it was to run through the exploding space colony, complete with collapsing bridges, expanding gas explosions and all the usual action film cliches. today though, it's back to the zombies, there are apparently some race missions I need to finish before moving on to season 2, though having to stop in the middle after 5k will be mildly irritating, still, at least I've got the timing for my trampoline worked out correctly so I can do 5k in 20 to 25 minutes.

3, congratulations and best of luck to you and your child. As for me, this is by large one of my favourite parts of the year. I love christmas! Here at college we always have lots going on, from various activities to christmassy food in the canteen to all kinds of other things, I’m sure it’ll be a fun one. I’m especially looking forward to the day before we break up for the holidays, where we have no lessons and also christmas jumper day.Speaking of christmas food, I love marzipan! One of the main reasons I like christmas so much, I get to eat the stuff without looking like an idiot. Well, for the mostpart..

@3, Congratulation! I am very happy for you! Nothing much going on here. Day after tomorrow is my senior athletic meet and I have given my name for the 100 m race. Just thought to try out my luck. Besides that, only studying and studying. Periodic tests have started and there are only two months and 18 days left for the finals. I'm not really waiting for them but will have to study hard. Unlike other people, I don't like to just sit and study for five or six hours straight so it's a bit sad. The worst thing is that all the questions from certain subjects come from the book and we are not allowed to write the answers on our own. So we have to kind of mug up. Hope you all are having a nice month. Oh also! I am very excited for my birthday coming on the 13th of Descember. Will try to see if I can aford to buy manamon 2.

Re: Monthly chat December 2019

Hi. This month is the time of happiness indeed especially for me. The past few days I found out that my lady is pregnant, I've had to call my parents and tell them the good news and in general, I had to think a lot about what will happen next and how are we going to sort all these things out. Obviously, we want to get married before the child comes but it's going to be extremely difficult due to our unstable financial situation. Overall, I am extremely happy. This is going to be my first child and it's a time of wonders, a time of mixed feelings ripping me apart. The feeling that I'm going to be a father soon is exhilarating, It's like I want to laugh hysterically and cry at the same time. I can't imagine myself being a father but I'm slowly realizing it is really true, these past days were like a dream for me,. I hope everyone is doing as good as I am lol!

Re: Monthly chat December 2019

Damn, you beat me!Oh  I'll have to try harder next year .Well Well as I said in december's topic things are not great at the moment, though hopefully the bad reaction my lady had over the weekend is dying down a bit and this week we can get back to normal somewhat, we both want to see Frozen 2 and maybe the addams family if its still showing. We also of course need to sort out various christmas shopping type things, which is going to make life interesting. Actually, to say we went to the rather nice christmas fair a week last Sunday, Christmas seems to have crept up on us somewhat this year, though of course part of that is not having a tv so not being bombarded  quite as much commercialism, (even from Amazon I've tried to opt out of as many adverts as possible). The thing I am looking forward to this year is the arrival of my birthday present, all 8 seasons of game of thrones on dvd, since I've only seen up to series 4 so far and it'd be great to do the lot.I'm also goig to buy manamon 2 as soon as I've finished the first game and completed the manapedia, and I'm on the home stretch with that. that will be fun I think. thankfully, assuming my lady doesn't have any other bad reactions to antibiotics, she's got a bit of a break until she starts the radio therapy in the new year, which  will hopefully  she'll be generally a bit better and we can do fun stuff. Hope everyone else is having  decent time thus far.

@gonzalez2016s.alovver welcome to the monthly chat, though we'll probably be starting a new one very soon lol. @Guitarman, Wow the thing with the wild fires sounds nuts. We've been hearing about them on the news occasionally over here, along with other disasters in places like indonesia etc, things do seem a bit bonkers at the moment natural weather wise, but glad everyone is okay. My lady is a fan of Koontz, though hasn't  read either the Frankenstein or Jane Hawk series yet. I've read a couple and done reviews for Phantoms and midnight which you can Find here I do find Koontz occasionally a bit too preachy and saccharine, but at the same time I did enjoy Phantoms. My lady would like me to read more of his so I probably will at some point. Interesting that you like the Blindfold games, I've been adding db pages for lots of them recently and intend to do more. I do like the design on several, though I said a lot of that in the topic on kid friendly software in new releases.Unfortunatelyy, my lady and I both have really rotten colds and have been in bed for two days, mostly reading Mercedes lackey . I do hope this goes away soon as I have various other things to do, in particular, the sf novella I'm working on at the moment was going quite well the other day before I started feeling bloody awful. Re: Monthly chat December 2018

Hi.Well it's been a crazy couple of months for me. Where I live we had an enormous wildfire! It burned most of the town next to us and some of ours. We were staying with my aunt and uncle which wasn't ideal. They have a very small house and there were six of us altogether. We didn't have news of our house for a while, it was a little before thanksgiving before we found out our house was fine. A firefighter told us that the only reason our neighborhood survived was because the wind shifted from east to west, and the fire blew the other way. It really makes you think, we could have lost everything if the wind hadn't shifted. When we were evacuated we just had to take whatever we could and go. I managed to get a few things before we left. It was very traumatic, but we are back home now and things are slowly getting back to normal. About a blok away from us there is still ash and burnt things. In fact if you drive around our town, there is a lot that was completely destroyed. There are still plenty of people who have lost everything, I still find it hard to believe that we didn't.But now onto happier things! I got out my RCA android tablet, I'm still struggling to figure out how the danged thing works. It has a keyboard, but I'm never completely sure if I'm supposed to use the keyboard or the touch screen itself. Flicking the screen like I do on the iPhone seems to do something although I'm not sure what. It's a fun challenge trying to do things by trial and error.I've been reading the jane hawk series by dean koontz. It's very good but it has many many similarities to his other Frankenstein series, although that one was a lot more intriguing. The reason I've kept on with the jane hawk series is because it's about fighting a big conspiracy, which is the kind of story I love.Reading the series has made me think I should reread the Frankenstein series for old times sake. The idea of an engineered super race taking over, along with some other nastier monsters is just so cool. I originally read the series as it came out, and it seemed I waited a lifetime for the third one, which was torturous lol! Now the series is complete, so people don't have to worry about that.I had a nice Christmas, I only got a few presents, which is exactly how I wanted things. My niece and nephew are staying with us, so I wanted to make it more about them. I got a couple of new diecast cars, and iTunes gift cards, which was more than enough for me.As far as games go I've been playing a lot of the blindfold titles. The sounds and sound quality is terrible, but the gameplay on those is so good it's easy to ignore. I've also been playing various other word and puzzle games for the iPhone, I love the challenge!Well that's enough for now, I hope you enjoyed the post, and if you didn't then forget you lol! Have a good new years or whatever it is you celebrate, happy holidays!

I actually should look at emulation at some point,  my current hardware is more than fine so far, and when I played around with mame to play some  arcade classics like the walkalong arcade beatemups of the turtles and simpsons, I found it a wee bit clunky to configure and use.Well we're back now  though unfortunately Mrs. Dark is not well which isn't good. I've been listening to the audible original audio drama of the Arabian nights. Its pretty fun accept for the random way people describe everything, I'm pretty sure if a huge great monster  about to clobber you you wouldn't be saying See there, arising above us, a mighty giant!" or something of the like . Still they're surprisingly fun, I never thought the head chopping Sultan who went through a new wife each night could be a commical character, but from presenting him as a total psychopath at the start they actually have some fun with him later which is amusing. Actually all this talk of Arabian mythology and retro games makes me want to go and play super marrio 2 .

Re: Monthly chat December 2018

@Dark Thanks. The only consoles I have at the moment are an original Wii and the NES Classic Edition, if you can even call it a console at this point which, sadly both NES and SNES Classic Editions are being discontinued for real this month, meaning that once they're gone, they're gone for good, which is sad because they were neat little products while they lasted, so I ended up picking a SNES-style case for my Raspberry Pi to complement my NES Classic Edition which was sitting on my desk, and while it's not the exact same size (the Super Kuma 9000 case I have is smaller than the SNES Classic Edition and the USB and Ethernet ports are on the side instead of having front USB ports), it's still a perfect case that looks as good as an SNES Mini, plus having the benefit of playing systems from the Atari 2600 up to the PlayStation 1. What more could I ask for? Well, probably a controller with analog sticks so I could play more systems, but this USB SNES controller can get me by in no time. Plus, I won't be playing that many games that require analog sticks on my PC and on my Pi anyways. As for the socks, man those sound really cool!

The kit was pretty easy to build. The case looked nice, and it matched my desk where I kept my Wii and where my TV was sitting. The case was not that complicated to put together, as the plastic pieces snap together nicely, where as my new case that I'm using has a screwdriver, some thermal paste for the included heatsink, and 3 sets of screws (2 long ones if using the included heatsink, 2 shorter ones if you aren't using the heatsink, and 4 small screws that are used for the bottom of the case). As for NOOBS being accessible, I haven't tried it, as I never messed with it at all as I just flashed RetroPie which overwrote my NOOBS installation. But from what little I tried, it doesn't seem to be accessible out of the box, nor do I know how to even make it accessible.

Re: Monthly chat December 2018

If you are referring to building a retro gaming console, it was really easy. All I had to do was download RetroPie from the official website, flash the downloaded image with either Win32DiskImager or Etcher (I used Etcher), plug it in, configure my controllers, set up my Wi-Fi, turn on SSH through the Raspberry Pi Configuration Tool, then transfer my ROMs and make the tweaks I wanted to do like install some extra emulators, install some extra components like visual themes for EmulationStation (which is the main graphical interface so that you can launch your games), and install some background music scripts that play your own MP3 files while selecting a game. The music will stop as soon as you enter an emulator, and it will resume once you exit the emulator. I also ended up scraping all my ROMs as well. Scraping is a way that allows you to fetch game metadata like box art, publisher, developer, genre, number of players, screenshots, and artwork. Optionally, you can have a video preview to go along with it. So, for example, say one scraped the NES version of Super Mario Brothers. When Super Mario Bros. is highlighted in the NES game list, a video preview showing gameplay of Super Mario Bros. would play, along with the information that the scraper could pull concerning that game. Scraping primarily requires a connection to the Internet, since the scrapers pull metadata from specific sources like TheGamesDB or ScreenScraper, and they compile the data into an XML file. There are lots of scrapers that RetroPie can use, including the built-in scraper that EmulationStation has, and 2 optional scrapers that you download from the RetroPie Setup script, which is a graphical-based setup for RetroPie which allows you to install, remove, and configure additional packages. Those scrapers include Skyscraper and Steven Selph's Scraper. However, you're dealing with some inaccessible catches along the way, the main EmulationStation windows and RetroArch emulator configuration tools are inaccessible as well. Since the base RetroPie installation image that's available on the RetroPie website is based on Raspbian Lite, you don't have a screen reader included. Since I have a bit of sight, all I needed to do was change the actual console font size to be a bit larger and better for my eyes.

Re: Monthly chat December 2018

Hello all!I hope everybody had a wonderful time spending Christmas with friends, family, and loved ones. I sure did. I went out of state to visit some family on Christmas Eve, in which we did lots of activities. Before that I had a really awesome time on Discord talking to some of my friends. I talked with them on voice chat about various things like music, video games, and everything in between, one of them even wanted to stream our conversation and stream it to her Twitch channel! As for presents, I received a few things.Ever since I got my Raspberry Pi last year to set up and play classic retro games using RetroPie, I wanted to take it a bit further on the aesthetic side of things. I wanted to make the outside of the device look like a true retro console, since the starter kit I bought, which was the CanaKit 32 GB Raspberry Pi 3 B starter kit, came with just a generic plastic case. It worked well for a while, but the generic plastic cases aren't my favorite. There were a ton of cases that satisfied my wants, but some of them were a bit too pricey, especially for shipping, and I didn't want to wait a couple of days for them to ship to the States, even when we have Amazon Prime. So, I ended up buying a case called the Super Kuma 9000, made by a company called Kintaro. It's another Raspberry Pi case that makes it look like the North American Super Nintendo on the outside. The best part is that the case has a PCB board on the top of it, and it has built-in connections to the Pi's GPIO pins. When that's connected to the pins, it enables you to have real working power and reset buttons that work safely. They use a shutdown script that you install in order to make the buttons functional, so it mimics the behavior of a real console. One of the things I like about it, and it's a big selling point for it, was that it included a massive and beautiful large aluminum heatsink that goes over the entire board, and it covers the CPU and the Ethernet chip, and it kept the Pi really nice and cool during my time using it, even when overclocked. Best part is I didn't have to wait a long time for it to ship to my house, since we have Amazon Prime. The second thing I bought is a USB controller. It's made by a company called RetroFlag, who are known for their NesPi case, which is another case that makes it look like an NES, complete with working power and reset buttons. They made a couple of USB controllers to go along with another case that came out this year, the SuperPi Case, which is another SNES case, but unlike the Super Kuma 9000, it has USB ports on the front where the controller ports were on the original SNES. The controller and case came in 2 variants, the North American SNES design, and the Japanese Super Famicom and European SNES design. I ended up picking the North American design, just because it looked perfect with my setup. The controller itself feels really nice in the hand, and the buttons feel equally as great, they aren't mushy like some other USB controllers I've seen, and it works well on my PC and on my Pi.Last thing I bought was a 5 volt 3 amp power supply for my Raspberry Pi, made by a company called NorthPada, because I was constantly getting undervoltage warnings with my CanaKit 2.5A power supply all of a sudden, especially when doing some heavy transfering or when scraping my games through SSH or the command line, which is when I get metadata for a game like publisher, developer, game title, and screenshots, and optionally, a video preview that plays when that game is highlighted in the game selection screen. This new power supply has worked really great when I was using it, and I haven't had any warnings ever since I received it.Last thing I received were some Bluetooth headphones made by SOHO, and in my little time using them, they've been working really well. Of course I had difficulty figuring out which buttons did what at first, but so far I have no trouble at all.

We've not opened ours yet, though we did have goose with all the trimmings including bread sauce,  stuffing,  roast potatoes, brussle sprouts etc which was lovely, we even listend to the run down of the nations favourite Christmas carrols . Re: Monthly chat December 2018

A philosophical Advent from Saint Nicholas. BY Phil Vlasak,Inspired by CLEMENT CLARKE MOORE,'Twas the night before the Nativity of Jesus, when all through the house,Not a creature was stirring, not even a Mus musculus. The long silk foot-shaped bags were hung by the chimney with care,In hopes that Saint Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds,While visions of sugar-coated caraway seed candy danced in their heads. And mamma in her large colorful Bandana and I in my cap,Had just settled our brains for a long winter's nap. When out on the forest of green conifers there arose such a clatter,I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.Away to the window I flew like a flash,Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash. The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,Gave a lustre of midday to objects below. When what to my wondering eyes did appear,But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny Rangifer tarandus. With a little old driver so lively and quick,I knew in a moment he must be Saint Nick.More rapid than Aves Accipitridaes his coursers they came,And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:"Now, Sprinter! now, Stepper! now Strutter and shrew! On, Serpent! on, Swinish! on, Scriber and True!To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall! Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.So up to the housetop the coursers they flew,With the sleigh full of books puzzles games and Saint Nicholas too.And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roofThe prancing and pawing of each little hoof.As I drew in my head, and was turning around,Down the chimney Saint Nicholas came with a bound. He was dressed all in red Russian Sable fur from his head to his foot,And his clothes were all tarnished with wood ashes and soot;A bundle of books puzzles and games he had flung on his back,And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack. His eyes, how they shimmered of aluminum metalized polyethylene! his small depressions in flesh, , how merry! His cheeks were like Rosa rugosas, his nose like a Prunus cerasus! His charming little mouth was drawn up like a bow,And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow. The stump of a Alderman   pipe he held tight in his teeth,And the tobacco smoke circled his head like a wreath; He had a broad face, and a little round stomach, That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of collagen extracted from bones. He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself.A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread. He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,And filled all the long cotton foot-shaped bags, then turned with a jerk. And laying his finger aside of his nose,And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose.He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,And away they all flew like the down of a Cynareae thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,"Happy Nativity of Jesus   to all, and to all a good night!"

Now I am at the country and my friends won't come this year for Christmas and for the new year celebration, so, I will be alone and that sucks. Guess I will have more time to read books and because I do not have any on this old piece of crap, I have to ask one of my best friends to give me some. I almost finished Ready player one on Audible and I like it alot, much better than the text version.

Wow angel that's quite something to do, though I hope none of those kids are like the one in Great toy robbery . well things have been a bit weird over here since my lady and I both got aweful colds so basically spent the last two days in bed reading Stephen King. Other than that I've been doing a lot of work for the db since I want to carry on the tradition of having a big Christmas eve update, which has meant trying out a lot of games and writing about them. I also finished buffy Season 7 the other day which was good as a final ending. I liked where Spike's story ended up, though its going to be interesting to start the last series of Angel. My brother's fiance has stargate on dvd, so we're thinking of doing a bit of a swap, her lending me stargate in return for me lending her Buffy and angel, which should be good.Other than that I've been ordering a lot of things from Amazon for my mum, since one miner disadvantage of being the person with the Amazon prime account is that you always end up being the one other people ask to order stuff . then again since my mum has an xp machine still that probably wouldn't work, indeed getting her to try out windows 10 and chrome so that she can have a nice shiny new pc is sort of a project for next year.

I got for Christmas 2 Amazon voukers, 50 pounds each and I decided to buy a Rastbery pi ful kit and a small usb keyboard, so, I still have 27 pounds left.I wanted to buy a Leapster Explorer console, accessible to us but it was not eligible for delivery to my address, so, I could not buy it, sadly.Howp you are having a great month and howp you did not have exams until december 19, like I did.

@Aaron that sounds awesome, good luck with all the random performances. I've never done panto type stuff though my singing teacher suggests I should and I admit I always have had a bit of a desire to play the panto villain and get all the audience to boo me . Well We went to watch fantastic beasts yesterday which was good fun if a little unsatisfying, I wrote my thoughts about it In post 14 of this topic. My friend is heading back to London tomorrow though its been good, and that not just because he absolutely loves trying out his cooking on us. This time around it was goulash with a recipe he picked up in Hungary, he also bought a surprising amount of libations with him, including a bottle of Grand Marnier which we wound up drinking at the cinema. Actually it was nice to go and see a film for once. There is a cinema in this town but I've not been for a while since there's not been a lot I wanted to see, but my lady would definitely like to see Mary poppins returns I think, and I didn't realize they were making a film of battle angel elita, something I wouldn't mind seeing myself since I did enjoy the anime.

Re: Monthly chat December 2018

@Dark: wow, that's a busy month!I sing too. Heads up, long post ahead!Tomorrow Dec 11 the theatre group I'm a part of, called First Act, it's a group involving clients with disabilities that run the gammot, and we're doing our Christmas show for the year. It's Goldilox and the Three Bears but we always change things up a bit. So, our tutors set it in a town called Storyvill, and are bringing some other fairytale characters into the mix. I'm playing Jack, as in Jack and Jill, and we're a sort of comic relief duo for our scenes. We've also got a bunch of songs running the gammot from The Jacksons Can you Feel It, to Shrek The Musical's Big Bright Beautiful World, all the way to A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman from 2017, plus a custom-made, orchestral/midi, medley of tunes as in act 2 there's a big running away scene, and that one incorporates the Automatic's Monster as the main hook plus a custom melody for one section, and even The Mob Song from Beauty and The Beast. I'm doing a harmony for the final monster bit! We've also got some new cast members this year and they are awesome. Then, on the 15th in the evening I should be if all goes well, singing at a cabaret event, as far as I know, solo! Two Christmas songs, It's the Most Wonderful Time of The Year in the style of Andy Williams, and a jazzy version of Holly Jolly Christmas in the style of Lady antebellum. Then, on the 23rd, I'm singing with a choir, and we're in an abbey! It's Voices of the Isle of Wight this choir is actually on YouTube so have a listen to some of our past songs if you wish although I don't know how many I'm in. But, we're doing a bunch of new stuff this year. Absolutely can't wait! So, that's what I'm doing this month. Oh and we've got our decorations out, it's great hearing my noisy Christmas stuff again especially, the stuff from Hallmark US that I was able to obtain last year. Absolutely loving the sounds that those ones make. One of them sounds like a train as the music plays, it's quite clever.

Re: Monthly chat December 2018

Hi Dark eagle, sorry about the extreme hassles and trouble converting Hindi, that sort of thing always strikes me as hyper complex so I'm glad I never need to do it . Interesting you mention December being marriage season in India, traditionally weddings over here are supposed to be in the spring, though mostly that has dropped off and people just tend to get married whenever. My lady and I got married on  third of July 2016 because it was an important date, as it was a year to the day since I told her the way I felt about her which makes it a very lovely double anniversary Well things have been interesting over here. We did the charity concert last Friday which was fun, particularly singing A little priest from Sweeney tod, although I had to speak a lot of it since its extremely low in my range, also as we only have one microphone between us we couldn't really do much by way of actual acting. We have a church service we're singing at  a bit later on which should be fun, though for now my friend from university is staying with us a few days. Last night we watched the fantasy film Krull, from the early eighties which was amusing if a wee bit ponderous, and with a rather cliche script, though it had fun bits including a pretty awesome comic relief character. We're probably going to see Fantastic beasts and where to find them today which should be good, plus my friend is making us Goulash as he's recently been in the Ukraine and has the recipe. He's a pretty awesome chef, and  runs his own wine import business,  he's pretty random  but we always end up having a lot of fun .

Re: Monthly chat December 2018

The month of December, where season of marages is just starting here in India, exams start, (they are just preparation, but still,) and winter. For those who don't know, I really don't like the cold season in general. coldness due to rain is just fine, but cold season in general, like in winter, simply does not sit well with me.I know I have been missing for a while, but my programming lessons have just crancked up to next level, the colege failed to provide me any reasonable amount of reading material, so I have to by the books scan them, convert them and then read them...Not a thing which I enjoy. On top of all that, the native language Hindi (which I have to study, not that I mind or anything,) needs fonts for showing Hindi text.I know I will need different voices for reading the language, so I did set them up in advance. so, I got a trial scanned PDF in Hindi, converted it, and got a garbled mess.Apparently, the fonts which comes with word by default (Arial unicode) are not up to the task. I will have to download and install different fonts if I want to read Hindi in word. But the problem is, I am not sure whether if I scanned and converted a PDF to word file, those fonts would work or not. Also annoyingly enough, I don't have anyone who have knoledge of such things.I guess downloading them and installing them, and then testing them is my only option.Yes, I also know that I can always make notes in braile, but most of the notes and text of the subjects are in my computer. and organizing notes written in braile is simply not something I would like to do for a single subject.Other than that, I find myself slowly drift away from the online games, because the shear amount of time they require to play. I also was getting annoied that I have to play them so much just to progress little bit. thus, time to put my foot down, and say, "Enough!"But, my interest is still on offline games, well not offline, considering you can play with people through there connection, but I never do that. I really am a lone kind of gamer.Hope you guys are having more fun then me this month.

Re: Monthly chat December 2018

@Sky guardian, we did of mice and men in school, however its oddly enough one of these books that I appreciated more when I didn't! have to analyse every inch of it and could just appreciate  story as it was. @Phil, the practice Harp I've borrowed to play isn't quite that huge, and thus far I'm still just on the practicing stage, getting used to where the strings are etc. Learning the tuning of it is a nice challenge, since basically the entire harp is in e flat major and if you need to play in other keys there are small levers at each string that alter it by a tone. You can get peddle harps that let you play accidentals, but the one I've borrowed from my teacher is just the standard harp with no peddles.@Mirage, We once found a harp quartette who did some amazingly arrangements of christmas carols for four harps which were quite something else, the harp does lend itself to carols and folk melodies so I might try and pick out a few just for the sake of practice. Last Sunday we did something pretty awesome, we had tickets to Birmingham arena where they were doing a full showing of Starwars a new hope with a live orchestra playing the soundtrack. though I wasn't really close enough to make much of the screen, its not like I don't know the film backwards at this point, and having a full orchestra, especially in bits like  battle of Yavin at the end was quite something. The coordination of how to play exactly in time with a running film must be pretty staggering .

Hi.If you just want to play games with the psp, it's pritty easy, when you start the thing up and the UMD disk is already incerted, so when you hear the logo and wait for some seconds, you can just hit x and the game starts. If you put a custom firmware on the thing, it's a little different, but also doable.Greetings Moritz.

Re: Monthly chat December 2017

Hi.@Dark. I actually got it set up first thing as soon as I got home on Monday. I have two controllers I can use. I can either use my desktop keyboard, or I can use a controller called the NES30, a Bluetooth and USB wired gamepad that looks and feels like the original NES, except with a few more buttons to play SNES titles. I can use it with my PC, Android, the Switch, and through an adapter, I can use it with an original NES, an original SNES, or even Nintendo's NES and SNES Mini consoles. It's a bit on the pricy side, but it gets the job done. The difference with my RetroPie build compared to an NES/SNES mini is that I can play more systems than just NES. I can play systems up to Nintendo 64. Anything like Atari 2600, ColecoVision, ZX Spectrum, even the Virtual Boy and several obscure Japanese systems like the Sharp X68000. Sure, you could hack Nintendo's console to add custom ROMs and even install other emulators in addition to Nintendo's stock emulator, but you're limited to the amount of flash storage. As for your Mega Man thing, you could get the ROMs for the other GB games, but I know that's something that most people are uncomfortable with, so I won't bring that subject up. As for the other Mega Man games, I have Mega Man 1 through 10 on Steam thanks to the Mega Man Legacy Collections, meaning that I can play them on my PC, complete with leaderboards, achievements, and whatnot. Again, I know Steam can be a pain in the arse to set up initially though. I DO have my SNES still hooked up, but it's really starting to get out of shape, so I'm gonna have to get someone to restore it or something so I can use the outer shell for something else.

Re: Monthly chat December 2017

@Maria, you can find a link under Jyro's name to send him an email via the forum, please do that, or check his website since we don't give out people's email addresses. @Simba, the ice thing sounds fairly freaky. luckily our own issue wasn't that dire. It turns out that the stopcock isn't actually a turn switch like every other stopcock I've seen, it's a lever you need to change from vertical to horizontal . So there was me, turnning this section of pipe with the lever around and around and around and water was still on, then my land lord comes in and just goes "crunk!" and it's done! I can say  felt like a major dingbat for not working that one out .Fortunately, the plummer turned up at 8 am yesterday morning, and thanks to the lone of some very handy fan heaters, we dried up all the water with no damage which was good. Our landlord really is a very nice chap, he even bought us two rather expensive bottles of wine and shared one with us while we chatted waited for the plummer, and I was quite impressed that a 70 year old very straight lased ex antique dealer did know what I was talking about when I told him we wanted our front door bright green like Bilbo Baggins' . One last amusing thing from this debarcle though was the heating. While our land lord is lovely, he does have that tendency which some older people have to  assume he always knows best. So he set the timer on the heating before he left  to turn the heating off between midnight and seven am. We did ask him not to, on the basis that my lady gets cold and frequently one or both of us is awake anyway, but he wouldn't take no for an answer. However, when he was gone guess what? no heating at all? it wasn't until midnight that day that I realized he had actually set the heating to be off! the rest of the time and come on! between midnight and seven. Fortunately, this time my logic skills were up to the task and I was able to turn the timer off entirely, so we now have heating back . @Family mario, I'm jealous, though you'll have to let me know how that retro thing goes. I've never been a big fan of emulation since playing on a keyboard is interesting and emulated games don't tend to work right, one reason I've relied  on original hardware. I have my snes currently hooked up and working, but my gamecube (which also serves to play gba games), is not in quite as good a state since we managed to lose the tv cable while moving. This is very annoying as I used amazon prime to treat myself to something I've been looking for for a long time, a copy of Mega man ii for the original gameboy, now meaning I only have four more mega man games to get to complete my personal "mega man games I can play" list, which encompasses megaman 1-8, Megaman & bass, all five original mega man gb games, megaman x 1-6 plus xtreme and xtreeme 2 and the four mega man zero games. Unfortunately after this the games either got too 3d or moved onto inaccessible consoles like the psp, wii and ds. Actually the Wii I am particularly sad about since it would be a good way to play retro games if I could get through the blasted menus on the thing, not to mention a few remakes like Mega man 9 and 10, though I suspect those would have menu structures too complex for me to handle. In other news, unfortunately I'm going to have to wait on a hero's call because after buying a new Iphone 8 I'm severely short of cash, though hopefully I can transfer some from my savings and be okay in a few days. This evening we're taking my brother and his now fiance out to watch Starwars and have a meal as  celibration of their engagement, (assuming they're both recovered from their colds), which I'm looking forward to. And that's about enough ramblement for me I think, and probably my last monthly chat for 2017 .

Re: Monthly chat December 2017

Hi.For me, this month has been great so far. I just got myself a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. I got it because I wanted to use it to play retro games on it, thanks to a version of Raspbian Jessie known as RetroPie, allowing me to play games from many different systems. Got it because I was sick and tired of hunting down a Super NES Classic Edition, Nintendo's mini version of the SNES that has 21 built-in games on it, since it, like the NES Classic Edition that followed last year, sold out like mad, since everybody wanted one, and we didn't want to pay the insane prices that were charged by scalpers online. So, even though I already have an NES mini in the house, it doesn't hurt to have another retro console in the house too.

Re: Monthly chat December 2017

Hi.Oh dear dark, let's not hope that the water already entered the walls of your home, the problem is that when for example a pipe breaks, the water coming out might drip into the walls and rot them from the inside, making them unstable and a possible danger when they come down.We had that problem in our old house, we needed to have some big fan active trying to get the water out of the walls or something like that, I don't honestly remember how that went.On a other note, something a bit more enlightening and humorous. The friend of my sister is also a plummer, currently working in the company of his dad.So they were called up by a customer because he had a slight ice problem as he said.Well, the big problem was that he went on his yearly winter hollydays and turned of the heating. Normal, right? Agreed, but he just didnt turn off the heaters in the rooms, but also the general heating keeping the house at a basic warm temperature to not cause freezing and ice problems at the house. So, this one was also turned off. During the two weeks while he was gone, the pipes in the walls started to freze up and they finally cracked, making all the water flow out of different cracks in the walls. Because it was so cold, the water instandly froze.I was with the friend at that house. Imagine a normal bathtup,  but this one was filled with a solid block of ice till the top. From the fosset you could still see a thin tube of ice coming down and like a spear, stabbing into the solid ice block, the freaking jet of water coming from the fosset froze in the midsd of flowing. In the kitchen, a glass was standing on the table where the person had put a fork into before he went away, possibly forgot it there, but there was still some water left in there. I tryed it myself, getting the fork out of the glass was not possible anymore, it was frozen shut! So, don't worry dark, you're not the only one whom these mishaps happen too.Greetings Moritz.
