Honestly I might be getting a modderation by saying that but to me, that doesnt matter. Ill admit it, since he never got his email from the developer. Im also done with this game. It was a nice idea in the beginning but now Im kind of annoyed that I bought it. Considering that I did pay for the game and a couple months later for eric the cleric 2 when that was anounced ages ago, or maybe it was this version. But I still payed for this version. Why not have an email you copy everyone into that you know have bought the game? That would make a lot more sense than sending emails out like this. All the trouble is not worth it, and I have better Things to do. Mainly, playing games, which Works! And deeling with developers, WHO respons. Im happy I bought the game long time ago and got a chance to play through the game. But this new game is just crap in my oppinion. The thing which pisses me off is mainly that Jyro wont respond, dont send out the patches to everyone and wont make a central place where we can download the games and patches.I told the trooth then I got the game from a friend here on the forum, got a moderation! for doing this, so Im done getting Things for friends, or at leased done by telling so here on the forum.Then, Im forced to put all this on the developers sholders, who did indeed send me my copy of the game which is great. Ive requested the updates and patch and Jyro sent me a mail one day after. The only thing I have to say about this game is new skout working, that especially in last area is impossible to skout without dying because you have to move a step in a direction to skout, and in complicate area, where you have lava and pitch in both side, is impossible to know where to go. I hope Jyro knows that I am pointing this for a positive reason, because with a little correction, permitting for example to turn without moving the problem will be resolved. The problem in Super Airik The Cleric is that I cant complete the last area, because using the new skout is impossible to know your surrounding without moving. So when you have the lava one feet on your left is impossible to know that there is the lava without dying. And if you have a spike peet on your right, for example, and the lava on other side, is a situation in which you can die surely or lose an energy without seeing in advance.I suggest Jyro a solution that he can do without changing anithing, if he add a possibility to turn in a direction without moving, for example, using shift + Arrow Keys only to turn in a direction, so this problem can be resolved. I jumped the gun and bought the new version, and early the next morning I was given a link to download my file, which worked well. I had some issues, mentioned earlier in this thread, but basically none regarding acquisition of my file, except that I was on the list of people who bought this game almost four years ago when it came out. Thus, I understand peoples hesitations and worries.2. I did not ask for the basic.exe update but was still given it. I dont know why you or anyone else is being overlooked, SLJ, but it appears to be the exception to the rule.3. While I do appreciate the effort Gyro is going to in order to try and make sure PR is going smoothly here, I do wish we could have a central place to download the game.4. ...and heres where I throw the curve ball, because I wish the game could be downloaded centrally, but I completely understand why it cant. The game has no security, thats why. If you let anyone and his brother host the game from their server, then many people who havent bought it could play it. This method thats being used currently, while clunky, is the only immediate way to at least attempt to give only paying customers a copy of the game. Now Im playing in this new version, and I arrived at the end. Very often I have recommended to Jyro to put some sounds in the game, such as those of the doors, or jump gap. With this new system, the problems of the old versions even worse, because you can not use the Skout without moving, so if I have a hole on my right, but I do not know, then I have to take a step to the right, and so happens to die.This system of Skout, can also be useful, however, does not even have a sound to jump the gap or the treasure chest or crystals is very frustrating. This does not diminish the difficulty, because for example you can set to hear the sound of the treasure chest, only a few steps away from them, or from the crystals. But the most serious are the holes, especially in complicated areas such as sea docks, or lava fortress. And the fact of n ot being able to use skout without having to move, increases the frustration in these areas. The radial scan is cute, but often confusing, because very often repeated several times door, when in fact theres only one, for example,confusing just something extra. Airik the cleric has really important lack of exploration problems for me. I dont want to be offensive or something but I wants to say about my observations and ideas.First of all, its so frustrating I am moving around the maps like a blind, seriously. Scanning every piece of the map, step after step isnt something I like. Shadow line have the most interesting mechanics where you can actually run without checking everything with some kind of scanners / radars and you know where you exactly are. In Your game, I feel like the game is long, too long because I need to go one step, scan, next step, scan, next step, scan and its working like that if I dont want to miss something important.I am comparising it to the shadow line as its the best example of kind of open world RPG with excellent mechanics. You are running ahead and You can hear every passages around by short wind sounds, from left / right indicating there are opening or higher or lower means if you are moving from east to west or reversed, lower is the south and higher north. When I tap my arrow keys to take one step, Airik takes two. So, Im not able to play the game, cause I keep falling off jump gaps. This hasnt always happened though. The first time I downloaded Airik, it was fine, now I was sent another link, and when I downloaded it this time it started happening. Oh, and I still have not received the updated game links that everyone is supposed to be getting.Has anyone else had this problem with walking though? I have no idea what to do, and Im getting very frustrated cause I want to play the game. I cant play with this problem though. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know..Thanks. It is probably more difficult to code anti-cheating workarounds than it is to code the game, so thats why you have the less-than-ideal distribution method.To the person using XP and having Direct X errors, you may need to update Direct X.Speaking of XP, I realize that some of us dont have tons of money or whatnot, but lets remember that Windows XP is no longer being supported, and hasnt been for some time. It is not, by and large, safe anymore, and most programs have at least a hitch or two with regards to compatibility. Whats more, expecting new games and programs to be XP-compatible is a pain in the neck. If at all possible, I suggest those of you using XP try and upgrade to Windows 7 when you get the chance. Its essentially just better XP, plus theres the nifty search box. A few things are different, but not enough to really throw you. Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available Jeff is correct.Ive sent out the file updates which fix the load issue for those who were experiencing it. you should now be able to jump and hit switches with no problems. Im now running my own copy of the game. I still dont get why you dont send out all the copies to all people at once, instead spending days on sending out individuel mails to people.The only difference between Ambros and my version of Windows is that Im running Windows 7 64 bit, and hes running Windows 8. We both run the newest version of VmWare Fusion. Do you have any idea on whats going on when looking at my crash log? Is it anything which got overloaded? This is not Windows but Fusion itself which gives me this error. We are two persons who are having this issue, and Ambro is the only one who have reported that it works on his machine. His machine is an iMac, and mine and the other who have reported the same error, we are running this on a Macbook Air. Our machines meet the system requirements you have posted in the first post. So Im not sure on how to bugfix on this.Ive send a mail to Ambro, trying to figure out more about the differences on our machines. Whats with the jumping?So I press F, find theres a single jump gap, this is inthe cave where you go once you leave the southern gate and head south west I think? Anyway you go in there and theres a single jump gap. I get as close as I can without dying press space and right arrow and, die. Ive read the user manual and dont understand. Do I press space and hold right arrow? Or press space and tap the right arrow?/end of what I think are bugs/Also, there was no demo release, until someone brought it up. Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available played the demo, and well cool game. the only things i have a question about are, why not have the crystals make a sound/ or have the radio scan make a sound in the direction of it. also This game is a X-Y moving type will the next one be more like real 3d movement? because that would really add more fun to using the Xbox controler, and o yeah any way to use a ps3 controler? Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available Hey everyone, thank you for your support and patience while an issue was resolved.If you have one of the kinds of systems that may affect saved information, you will not be able to jump or use switches when loading your last game, this may also cause the music to overlap. I have created a special file swap out which resolves this in case you are experiencing this issue. I am sending this to everyone who has the game. Furthermore, I have created a special exe called baisik, which will allow you to play it without any graphical needs aside from the engine. This is also a simple file which will be sent with the first one. both include the fix for loading games. Im here for you guys, thank you. Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available To the person who had the issue with jumping:Dont hit the arrow key. Just get near a jump gap and hit space. Airik will know which direction to jump. I screwed this up a couple of times too. I think if you hit space and right arrow, right arrow is prioritized and thats why you die. I agree with Jayde the moving then hitting f is not an improvement since I jumped over a single jump, hit f then stepped left to see what was in that direction and fell off and died. It would be great if you could hold down f then hit an arrow key instead of stepping first. It is some what amusing at first to step off into a spike pit just to hear Scout tell me spike pit, thanks, now you tell me Scout once Im dead. Hitting c is neat although I wish it gave some sort of indication where things were. I think it would be great if the christels made some sort of noise so you could find them. Im playing the demo version and i thought thas maybe this bug is only for the demo version and doesnt present in the full version. some members told me the exact way for jumping but the problem is that the jump doesnt work at all. i start the game from the beginning and have successfully jumped over that gap but when i resume my savefile, the jumping doesnt work. The jumps seem a bit clunky, but it can be done. You have to go a couple of steps near the edge and then jump.Im having a problem myself/spoilers/Ive completed the first cave. Now when I go to the person and speak to him, I go into the shrine place, I find the flor switch but am unable to jump smash it. I go up to the ladder but I cant jump to the single jump gap. When I try player die. I press right Arrow going very close to the single jump. Press f and tell me the single jump. But pressing only space has no effect. And if I press space and right Arrow to jump Airik die. Someone encounter this problem? The game shouldnt be optimized for virtual machines, since virtual machines should react just like a normal computer. All other games and programs works on my virtual machine. Even the previous versions of the game worked, and all your other games have worked too. I have only played your games on a Mac. So Im sorry to say this, but there must be something wrong with this game. Maybe its the controler driver which Fusion doesnt like? Just a thought. Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available Hello jayde and others.well, it seems that the problem is very strange, because when i play the game from the beginning, i can successfully jump over the single jump gap and active the door and fight with first boss, however when i resume my game from the my save file, i couldnt jump over that gap! very strange, and another bug is when i resume from my savefile, and go to the cave, boath the music of village and the new music that is specific of the cave plays at the same time, i mean the game should stop playing the first music and start playing the second one, but in my situation boath plays, and none of this happens when i start a new game. Im totaly confused. When I begin the game, I hear a splashing sound and what appears to be birds which plays over the main game sounds very loudly (I wonder if it is the sound effects for the fishing game?). The problem is the sounds are so loud and continuous I can hear none of the dialogue or game sounds. I have tried extracting the files from the zip folder several times, and always got the same result, which is odd. Im quite disappointed sinse this makes the game literally unplayable. if I can send any log files from the SuperAiric folder to help identify this bug let me know.I must admit I am a little surprised that such a huge bug could exist in the game, sinse as I said it literally makes the game impossible to play, and like others in this topic I am wondering if perhaps a bug fix version is needed here, indeed while I am sure the game has been tested, for such major bugs to still exist perhaps a wider test sample might have been in order . Still, no point crying over spilt bugs, however I do very much hope this gets sorted soon sinse it is rather irritating to be looking forward to a full scale rpg and yet again! get no where, particularly after buying the game.As I said, if there are any error log files youd like me to send, or if you want to send me a test build that logs startup errors, let me know. Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available Okay. After a bit of fiddling, Ive managed to play a good chunk of the game. Below Ill note some issues Ive had. None are bugs, Ive got to say.First, an issue, but not necessarily a bug. Sometimes when I bump a wall, I get no sound and no announcement. This usually happens if Im changing direction, and has led me to get confused a couple of times. I sometimes miss doors or other things this way.Second, a design decision. I dont find that c-key radial scan all that useful, as if often tells me whats beyond walls and doesnt actually give me a representation of whats where. It does tell me - kind of - if theres a sky crystal nearby, and thats cool, but thats about it. Its gotten me confused a few times too.Concurrent with that, I really liked being able to scan in a direction without having to move. Many many times Ive had to tap an arrow to look in a given direction, but rather th an just turning, Airik moved - and died - because I was trying to scan for how close a jump was. That said, I kind of wish holding F and hitting an arrow key would scan in that direction.Another thing Im not sure is a bug or not...but enemies seem to pop up out of nowhere sometimes, even when killed, and you dont know when youre hit until your health is announced. Theres no attack sound, no collision detection of any kind on our end.One thing that I wonder about: when you heal in a bed, is your health supposed to go back to full? If so, its not working. This makes the game a little harder, and Im fine with it, but if it was intended to heal and save at the same time, the heal feature is mysteriously absent.Now, for a couple of straight observations:Guys, if you get into the game and are able to play it, youll notice that the boss fights are cleaner. Its definitely an improvement. Youll also notice that area navigation is a little cleaner, and for those of you trying to remember exactly where everything was in the last game...think again. Things are close, but its not exact. I dont know if its me, but everything feels...smaller, particularly in dungeons. Ive only just beaten the second boss and explored a little of the cove, so Ill write back more if I find anythings particularly odd later on.Tikki, it took me a bit to figure out, but you can definitely get fifteen crystals before you finish the cave. In fact, you have to in order to hit that floor switch. When starting the game for the first time, its actually possible to press control for loading a saved game, even though there isnt one yet. The game then will start without playing the intro, and Airic is in his house. When you then go to your bed and save, the game music will play twice after saving is completed.Nothing which makes the game not playable, but I thought Id mention it. I think it shouldnt at all be possible to load a saved game when there isnt one, the game should start a new game instead or just say that there is no saved game available.Another thing, Im stuck already.spoilerI got my staff and went into the cave, there I found on e power cube and quite a number of sky crystals, I have 11 now. But all there is left now is a floor switch I cant activate and a power cube door, and a locked door at the top of the ladder.I got this quest to find the mouse, but I cant find it anywhere, although I think Ive been everywhere. There was one room with breakable crates, but the mouse was not in there either.end of spoilers.By the way, I really do find it confusing that the radial scan scans through walls. Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available Cool to hear the directX updates helped.Jayde is correct, you need the fifteen crystals as Im sure youre aware before you can hit the floor switch.The default save that comes with the game is merely the beginning of the game right after scouts tutorial and becomes replaced by your new save, so thats just normal. the scanner is sort of meant to give you a light clue as to which of the items you missed, not to give their exact position. Scout can help with the rest.Jayde good observations, beds currently dont heal by default, but in the tips and tricks section I plan to post how to activate healing at bed locations for those who want the ease of healing. Enemies respawn after a few moments, so always scout ahead in dungeon like locations. Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available at brad- destroy the flowerbed in the way of the switch. you can shutdown the force field by shocking it with the energy blast ability once you obtain it. go to the docks to collect stuff, come back to this area later. theres a powercube in the south room that is not locked. at adel- When you get to near touching distance of the jump gap, dont keep pressing in the direction, just press space.at brad- when you scan, dont hold F down and dont keep pressing in a direction, this version has improved scouting, just face in a direction and press F once, no need to hold down arrows.at jade- the manual doesnt claim the game made the installed directory or the icon, however it was supposed to say folder and how to make a desktop shortcut, so I have now added this to avoid confusion. Thanks! As for your missing DLL, do you know what the name of the supposedly missing DLL is? The game comes with everything it needs, so if your computer is missi ng some kind of dll needed for running certain applications like this one, then I recommend running a google search of the missing DLL. If I find out what that DLL is, I can place it in the documentation as a help to anyone missing the specific DLL for these kinds of apps in Windows.at avid gamer- the game is not Mac compatible, so emulating Windows may bring unexpected issues. Apparently, someone actually solved a problem with a different game using an -older version of DirectX, but I wont monkey around with that unless I must.I also tend to see something like a8 engine not responding when the game tries to start. I have no idea why this should be. It will sometimes say this even when it tries to load the starting menu. Re: Super Airik the Cleric Now Available All right, folks. Im not best pleased, and Im just going to have to hope Im missing something kind of obvious here.I downloaded my game this morning. The download took a bit, but thats okay. It was a .zip package, which I promptly extracted.When I opened the unzipped folder, I found a lot of other folders, plus an Airik.exe file. Running this executable provided a bunch of issues.First of all, I was told that a particular .dll file was not installed on my computer, and that the game couldnt properly run. Despite this, I got the intro bit where Dark is talking about pressing Enter or Control to start or continue a new game, respectively. I hit enter, and was able to wander around Airiks room a little bit. I found the door, but couldnt open it for blood or money. I could not interact with the bed, either, although I did have both Scout and the radial scanner working.I read the manual, and it told me that I could use the desktop icon to play the game. Well, that would be great and all, but this game doesnt actually appear to install anything. If theres a way to actually make it install, rather than just hitting airik.exe and going from there, Id love to know, and the manual needs to mention this.Im really hoping Im missing something obvious, because if Im not, then this means that a supposedly thoroughly bug-tested product has not, in fact, been bug-tested. Other than that I agree, indeed you got on further than I did with the game, however please dont confuse me and the character i played, saying you heard me! talking about hitting enter, while true sort of makes me feel like Im giving bad directions .Actually the voice in that situation was for the character of The Chief, who sort of serves as the general purpose mentor character in the game. It cant be included as a simple file in the game folder, however can often times be easily installed. The driver associated with the xinput1_3 DLL you mentioned should be installed by going to the following safe microsoft link:http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download … id=35run the installer you download, then after you install it, restart your computer.
