Stringing a rod isn't difficult, it just takes practice. For that matter, I prefer to use a heavier line to make it easier on me. I prefer ten pound test and above. Tying knots in the line is the tricky part, but it too can be done with practic

You use something like a pencil or a metal rod there might be a hole in the middle of the spool, if not, make one, its just paper and the spindle is hollow in the middle. Then you start wrapping around the reel until that spool is full, using another

no reason you can't string it yourself, it does take a bit of creativity and a bit of McGeiver spirit to pull it off but its not impossible.

I got mine from Cabela's. It was a display model, out of box, but by display model I mean pick it up and go. I think it might be medium action, it's an open reel and the rod itself is about 6 feet long, more like 6 and a half.

Hello everyone. So, I bought a brand new fishing pole today, an Ugly Stick rod and reel combo. It came without line and that's my question. I'll be fishing for mainly walleye, perch and largemouth bass. Has anyone got line recommendations?
