I feel like some of these suggestions would make the game too complicated to develop by one person. I would advise the developer to take what seems reasonable and put that in the game. I'd rather have a game with less features than none at all.

Hello,By not grid-based, I meant the sstyle of park boss where you moved to a1, b2 etc. What I meant was I wanted normal walking instead of moving through numbers and letters.

Measure things out mark out the different points of your building ground. This way it could be different shapes. The RTR map maker had a cool way of making maps with out using a grid so I think it can be done.

I second post 60, how would you implement a free rome system in terms of this game? A grid would make much more sense. You're going to have to design the layout of your city and place things, it would be much easier to do this with a grid.

If you use a similar grid like layout to make the city as you did in Park Boss it would be nice if when exploring the map if it was larger and more up to scale. It be cool if you could control things such as trash collecting, road repair, special holiday events tree lighting parades etc. Setting laws would be cool in the mayor mode as well. Perhaps if you don't do a good job you face the risk of being impeached or not being reelected. I also like the idea of being able to drive around your city and visit buildings, go shopping, and stuff like that. If you make it multiplayer maybe the ability to visit other player's cities but you would have to obey that cities’ laws.

Hi. A city simulation it looks like a park boss mode so I don't think that it can be considered something new. I would like instead a truck sim or buss. The idea is to transport things, winn money, buy a better truck, etc.

Hi.Hmm, I am not sure if a happyness level or something in that order would be a good idea because it would force things on you that you might not want to do.For example, let's say I would be a ruthless industry giant, building up a mega city consisting of highrise buildings out of steal and glass, industry and machinery everywhere you can see, the air is filled with smock and due to the sometimes harmfull fumes from the chemistry plants or what ever, it might be hard to breathe, an dystopian city basically, with everything pushing into the direction of proffet.And there, a happyness level would be hard to implement, I am personally thinking you can create what ever city you want, from an industrial powerhouse, to a green and nature citys, with electric cars, parks, forests and so on.Greetings Moritz.

Hi Nick and all, I love the city boss sim also!If you're going to have a police force, perhaps we can go so far as to set a military in place, and have a system of permotions based on the tipicle paradigms. Maybe even down the road our military might have to defend our land from a band of highwaymen, or if the happiness factor gets so low, their might be an uprising from the local citizenry.Or, if you didn't want to go quite that far with a military, perhaps a higher authority such as a court system and a district attorney might be set to deal with the local crime. If the crime  rating or whatever you allow for, if crime or the criminal element gets so high a mob boss will begin draining funds from the coffers until its stopped. but maybe that's for a later update. lol I'm getting beyond the scope of a city sim maybe, but its sounds like good fun!

Hi!I have also one idea to create some game, but maybe It is inpossible.Some files are put on one directory and those files (as music) can be played to customers to make him silent. After those listening, You'll get pay your money for your music playing.I know, It is very hard to create and impossible. But, for some easy thing, some cat, or dog simulator is also very good.My specifical ideas of those two last ideas are, that some animals are good for depression. Some people for example have some games to use It for angry, example fist of furry, or palace punch up. But what, if somebody have for example some bad things? Omg I ... I love your idea for the city sim, Nick.I think there also needs to be a happyness factor based on ... well a lot of variables, as well as crime rate for different types of crimes. But these could be tied to districts of residential areas. For example, the suburban outskirts isn't going to have nearly as much crime as a densly populated industrial apartment buildings housing poor and uneducated people.

lol do you know just how resource intensive that would be if you saw every single person going about their dayli lives in the simulation? There's a reason games like GTA only make stuff happen in the section of the map you're currently in and just leave everything you can't see completely empty.

I like the ideas. a few more ideas for you, the ability to link multiple cities that you've created, and share resources, and the like between, this could also be interesting in online mode. In online, if driving gets put in, one way you could do things is to have all the cities on a big map, where you can just drive around, and look at other places, as well as walk into certain buildings, to negotiate stuff like trade between cities, and the like. Also, I think it would be cook to be able to see the  people navigating around in the city, and have random things happen in real time. For instance, a car accident would happen, you could see it get resolved in real time. Also, I think it would be cool to see something where  you could actually buy the stuff you need to make your city run, like better construction equipment, that could make building faster, faster buses, and the like, that would make people faster, you know what I mean.

Well nick, I'd have to say you hit the nale right on the head here good buddy, I really hope this game does indeed come to fruition and I absolutely love all of your ideas in post 34 right down to the name, City boss. One suggestion that I've got since you're planning an online buying and selling system, how about the ability for players to ship requested goods to one another upon request if we should need them, and they could arrive in real time. That sounds like a great idea, I would definitely play it. The only suggestion I can think of at the moment is to have happiness and health indicators for your population that you would need to manage that result in negative consequences if they get to low. Also a crime rate in your city could also be interesting.

I’ve been letting my mind run wild a bit and have pulled together an idea of what I’m thinking. It’s potentially quite a big project so don’t expect anything in the next month or so, Also at this moment in time this has captured my imagination and I’m quite enthusiastic about it however I’ve got a folder of projects sitting on my computer that I’ve started and didn’t really go anywhere. I’m hoping this won’t be another one of these. But I don’t believe in miss leading people so consider the below a set of ideas which “could” turn in to a game, there’s no promises.Take a look at the brain dump below. This isn’t a complete set of features I think the game may have, it just some ideas I’ve had as I’ve been reading the various replies I received. Are there additional things you’d like to add to the wish list? Again, no promises that any of the below or any ideas will make the final cut but if we’re thinking big then why not add things. It’s much easier to add ideas in at the design stage rather than trying to squeeze them in at a later date.So my ideas:ConceptYou start in an empty field. Your task is to take your empty field and turn it in to a city. The main scoring mechanism is the population of your city.The terrain of your city plot will be randomly generated. Somewhere on the field will be an interstate/motorway which you need to connect your road system to for contact with the outside world. There may also be a river, lake, mountains, sea shore, national railway link, natural resources such as coal, iron, copper, gold, stone, ETC. The environment will be randomly set at the start. Hi.I do have some ideas, also going into the city building or trucking sim game, I am not sure if we could pull real world maps from somewhere so we could drive in different cuntrys, a lot would need to be done by sapi if we would do that, but personally speaking, I wouldn't mind.Another idea is something like an open world raceing game, also with real world maps if possible.The concept could be that you buy your first car, and upgrade it with fitting parts, for example if you buy a sleak sports car, it wouldn't make sense to put muscle car tires or shassy on it due to the waight.You would than earn money by completing races against AI oponents, or against people in an online mode on town streets, through the cuntryside and so on if that is even possible.Another idea would be similar to CSR racing on the iPhone and Mac, a racing game focusing on drag racing, upgrading your car and climbing up the ranks.Greetings Moritz.

Okay, here's one that we don't see, a fishing, and hunting game. We see a lot of mainstream ones, some good, some bad, but yeah. You'd go up the ranks, starting out small, fishing out of a pond, and selling your catches to make money to buy stuff, like food, more bate, and eventually better poles, and eventually boats, which need fuel, and maybe you could even hire people to work for you.

I would like to throw out some ideas here.First of all, i would like to see a ship simulator or something's close to a game called sea of thieves where you are in control of a pirate.Another idea that come to mine is an interactive adventure like the telltale series where your choices plays a big role, which can lead to multiple endings and branching story paths. Not only that, in some scenes there will be parts where you have to walk around, interact with objects or npcs, solve puzzles, and complete quick time events.Then, another idea is you could make a tactical strategy games like XCOM or strategy RPGS like valkyria chronicles or final fantasy tactics

Hi.I have just read the documentation for My country, and the game sounds really great. It is made by VG Storm. It's a shame why he haven't chosen to release the game as a payed game, because this is really worth paying for in my opinion. But well, that's his choice. So I see no reason to hold you back for making an other farming game, which doesn't require Leasy. I think around 60 dollars is very expensive to pay just for one game, and I don't know for how long a Leasy licens works...

Yeah allot of people have been asking for a farming or fast food sim, and even though we have some farming sims, they are either only using farming as a small portion of the game, or very simplified, with no immersion via sounds or more realistic issues for the player to deal with.And I understand the hole respect thing, but IMO you will only be stepping on their toes if they make the game available to the community at large, and not just Lesi users. Till then, if your game ends up being better than theirs, then I guess they'll just have to adapt now won't they, and why is competition such a bad thing, we have such a small market as it is, and they are already sure of a sail for Lesi copies, so as long as people keep buying Lesi, they have a solid stream of sails. If they don't keep buying well then, that's what they get for restricting them selves like that, it's not your fault they decided to do it.For a farming sim, skill is easy to add, as well as different play styles for different types of farms, when to harvest and plant based on the seasons, who to buy your necessary  materials, like hay and fertilizer from and when, milking the cows in time, getting the cattle inside before a storm, cattle eating dangerous plants and dieing especially if they are free range, when to sell your cattle for the most meat and best price, accidents with workers if you use older, cheaper equipment, wage VS labor costs get much worse if you higher local instead of migrant workers for almost every situation, managing land in terms of what you own VS what the government or other, larger farmers around you own, repairing equipment that breaks VS replacing it, planting the right crops for the area and demand based on over seas production, where to put irrigation for best result  and in order to avoid polluted runoff, erosion and such, how much and what types of pestasides and growth hormones GMO seeds etc you can use before you can't legally have the (organic) label, dealing with insect and rodent problems, random cold snaps, helping dangerous births, disease outbreaks, breeding and vaccinating ETC, their is a hole lot of stuff.I'm only scratching the surface as well, farming has always required smarts, but it's gotten much more scientific over the last few decades, and while obviously time period and realism level is up to you, it would still be good to do some research on the specifics of even the basic stuff, because it's allot more complicated than I thought.For fast food, it could get boring pretty fast without more action based gameplay, E.G. pressing certain keys in time to flip right or take crisps out of the fryer at the right time, typing in order numbers from people who can't make up their mind or mumble, cleaning up explosive messes, managing who's order is first so stuff doesn't get cold ETC, plus you could potentially get the ability to work different positions, line cook, front counter, drive through, janitor, shift manager, which would add more replay value.Obviously it would be easy to get screwed by corporate if you didn't make the pissed off customers (reasonable or no) happy by making concessions to them such as free meal, coupon, toys for their bratty kids, ETC, and the ability to make the wrong choice would be fun, especially if the customer was particularly nasty so your employees would appreciate you more for having a backbone.Also we have the possibility of product shortage, older product being reused as a risk, promotions suddenly massively increasing customer numbers (both good and bad) the drink and icecream machines being out of service for cleaning or just because they break all the time (especially the freaking icecream one) cooks getting burns or staff in general slacking off, cleaning the horrifying bathrooms and tables, if you have a kids play area now you have to deal with even more, potentially breaking up fights, meeting quota while still paying your staff enough to not hate you so much they don't work well, and much more.This would need allot more voice actors though, if you wanted to make it more immersive, and I know you would get some bites for that, but maybe not enough.As for suggestions for your previous games, I wish you had an option to slow or pause the time while walking the park and still mess around. Because while I do like the concept of getting a call or email on your cell while in the park, it makes you feel really rushed when all you want to do is enjoy your park and try some rides.Also some of the rides have pretty short ambient loops, such as the helter skelter, and more playable games in the park would be awesome!

Hi Nick.Regarding the Leasy games, I do see why you don't wanna step on the those developers and what they have done. But, there are so many farming clones out there. Please correct me if I'm wrong. But Leasy requires both a Jaws license and then Leasy itself is very expensive. So people won't buy a licens just to play the games. Hi All.Great ideas so far, keep them coming.Just a quick heads up that there's already a farm sim available called my country place or something like that. Its part of the leasy games module and although its restricted to that environment i wouldn't want to step on the developers feat so for now a farm sim is off the table.I know that this may not be a popular choice but I know the devs who designed it and understand how much time it took so its a respect thing for me.So far the big hitters are a truck sim, a sim city type thing and age of empires type thing.Any more for any more?Thanks.Nick.

I have an idea that's simple and huge at the same time. I'd like to see a Mario Cart type game. If anyone doesn't know about Mario Cart, it's a racing game, but you have a lot more than just curbs to deal with and possibly animals to avoid hitting depending on the game. Hi all,Just throwing my ideas in here.We've got many great audiogames, it's true. Everything from flight sims such as eurofly, but something that we don't have is a really solid trucking sim. Whilst we do have Jim Kitchen's trucker for instance, it's just not realistic enough for my taste. If you ask me, you should have to work your way up, driving routes and making the right disisions to be succesfull.Even though something like this would take a lot of work, I think it would fill a nitch that many of us have wanted filled for a while.Cheers,Daniel

I would love to see a car type sim. I really think there is a lot you could do with this. Different cars, different features IE more or less automated and stats, online multiplayer races and just driving around for fun, real world maps and roads, missions both fun ones and more serious ones like making actual jurnies. It would be great to, let's say, get together with a group of friends and decide we'll drive to this certain place like a real car journey. You could say select in what country and place you want to drive, i'm sure we could pull maps easily from somewhere. Then of course you would have to fill up your car and deal with the odd mechanical failure like the battary going or flat tire or something.

I could get behind a farming or city builder game. I have played several editions of Harvest Moon, from the one on SNES, to the one on PSone, a version on PS2, and one on gamecube. Also after the fact, I've tried the one on N64 in an emulator, and I liked them all.

hi, I think what we need is a good city building sim. We have a grand total of 0 games in that genre. This doesn't take browser games into account, because I'd really like to see something like this done in audio. I guess some of the same principals that park boss has could be applied here. Major differences would be the requirement of laying down roads to connect buildings, cities skylines style, and also to provide power and water to all homes that require them. In terms of buildings, you'd probably have residential buildings such as homes and apartment buildings, public buildings such as schools and hospitals, industrial buildings like factories and comercial ones, take malls for example. How you would go about this depends on the resources your map has available, for example a river to build hydrodams and water treatment plants, or a nearby cole reserve for mining and export, or to be processed in colefire plants. You'd have to look out for things such as the city's environment, population happyness, living space and infrastructure. Possible aditions to this basic structure would be achievements that you could work towards, such as a certain population level or money reserve. A sort of campagne mode to develop your city into a metropolis would be fun too, though if you do decide to make this, a normal sandbox mode where you can just build and expand for yourself should be a thing also.
