Hi!
A lady not related to us at all is buried over my grandmother, in Boston.
Just a thought to ponder, Doug.

Hi Mike,I don't know this João J. Pacheco, either.Since the first person in the grave is my ancestor - the same one who married my ancestor from Chile - I think those who followed in being buried there are more likely friends or in-laws of your ancestor's generation.Pacheco is found in Pico, and in

Hi Richard,
I agree with Cheri. The brides parents are from the same parish as where this
marriage takes place. The word "nesta" appears when mentioning the parent
parish. That word means " in this".

OK Jim, I will check before Tuesday if I get the chance. Ark. is a little
too far for you to make the trip but maybe next year when Cheri and I go
to Salt Lake City again you can make it there!

Hi Marilyn,It's unusual for there to be a variation in the wife's name like that.Normally, one can depend on her sticking to the same first name every time. But her second name can vary and often does. It might be Josefa do Rosário one time and then Josefa da Conceição another.I suspect that the pr

The "Maria Pacheco" stuff has been puzzling me for a while. sometimes I get

Hi Jim A,
I'd say that researching any immigrant ancestor (or at least European
immigrant ancestors) does have some commonalities. To research just about
anywhere in Europe, you need the village. And you'd use naturalization,
ships lists, etc to find that village.
There were more German and Iri

Emigration out of the Azores are the Passaportes. They exist for the 3
ports of Ponta Delgada on Sao Miguel, Angra on Terceira, and Horta on Faial

Wow! I know I'm a novice at this, but when researching my German and Irish
lines it seemed that things came so easily. I guess I became complacent
because I had thought I'd looked every place there was to find this
information. But then again, it seems the Azores is a completely different
