Cheri,
Having used the LDS resources originally for backing up my family research, I
can't help but think that CCA just did another copy job using those same
ledgers. To that end, I recall that some Ribeira das Tainhas records were
included in the LDS films for Ponta Garca. Do you or anyone els

Yes! Among the newly posted Ponta Garca records is a comprehensive index
under 'indices' : One seems to be for baptisms and one is for marriages.
You'll have to poke around, but the one gives baby's name plus parents and
the other the happy couple. J
Also, look at the back of the marriage book
Is there any index for marriages or no?

And if you click on “Indices”, there are 2 sources that appear to go through
1972 and 1986, although the online records don’t go that far! I am so excited
to look through these records for siblings of my husband’s grandparents. I have
already found his grandfather’s birth record! Oh happy day!

Disregard, I checked the actual passport and the de Mello Passport book, he
has an incorrect parent for him. His father according to the passport was
Manuel Ignacio Medeiros and Ana Emeila da Conceicao. So if you are going by
the book, make sure you double check the actual passports.

Thank you, Dano. I appreciate your response. That's just the information I
needed to help understand. I checked CCA today to see if I could find any
other records for Daniel, like an adoption as you mentioned, but none of either

Great find! Yes, if the record has an image associated with it, then story

Still, it is something.

There was recent discussion here in the group about a public
