I can see 27 1776. Based on the fact that the previous record is for the
27 de Abril de 1776 and the one following is for 5 de Junho de 1776 and also
that the word for the month although very faint, does not resemble de previous
record for Abril I would tend to say that
At first I thought that it was May. After rereading, I saw the MARCO.

or another Ferreira family, so they compounded their surname. More

The groom not having a surname on Faial happens in one of my cousins lines,

No Catharina. It is not uncommon to adopt alternate names to distinguish
people from each other, or to simply adopt it as way of honoring one's
ancestors. It is also not uncommon to stop using alternate names. The name
could come from a parent or grandparent or even a Saint or place, such as
Sam, Anna (Ana) Francisca.
