I would like to add some information on the answer of Isabella Baltar.
The archives in Brazil are still being indexed. But I tried some times
read the list by myself on a specific boat and use the search function
based on names. Archives newer than 1896 or around looked to be indexed.

I was so excited when the Maia records came online. I would be able to
fill in some holes in my tree. One of them being finding the marriage
record for Antonio da Rocha and Rosa da Estrella Boteilho. I wasn't sure
what time period to look in as I had some scattered marriage records and
Congrats Mel! Just takes looking at everything!

I have been using FTM 16 for a long time. Very happy with it and last
uploaded it to my new computer February 2013. No problem. Well I got
a worm or something in the computer and had to totally re-install
Windows 7 (bought Windows 7 because it supported FTM 16!!) and all my
programs. I have

Hello
Can anyone make out the groom ( Antonio Arruda) and bride's ( Maria
Pimentel) baptism dates in this record. It looks like maybe it was
sometime in June 1760? Couldn't be 1770 could it?. Looks like it was
written as cecenta. Hard to make out the day in June though.
Thanks..Herb
Elaine, when I bought the computer I am now using in 2013, I asked if FTM 16
would work with it. I have Microsoft 2010 and my FTM 16 does work with it.
However, when I had a similar problem when a worm invaded my computer, I could
not get FTM 16 to run for me. I had the computer guy from

Elaine,
I have a couple of old programs that I like to use for 3D drawing but they were
written for Win 98. When I installed it to my computer with Win7 there is an
option called Compatibility mode which makes your computer act as if it’s
running the older windows program that your FTM 16 is

My name is Lisa, my maiden name is De Mello. I'm trying to do some research
on my paternal grandfather's side. His name was Joseph De Mello he was born

Thank you for your replies. I purchased this Windows 7 computer
because it has 32 and 64 bit and 32 supports FTM 16. It was working
fine before the mishap. Funny, when I use my old laptop with FTM 16
installed there is no such message and the program comes up (I have

Thank you Hermano and Margaret! I guess my next question would be does
veteran of the front line troops mean anything special or is it a generic
line for most soldiers? I've read many of the obitos in Maia from
1860-1884ish and this is the first time I've seen this notation.
On Sunday,
Thanks Rosemarie! And it is very true. It pays to check all villages
associated with a family because you just don't know where a record might
appear.
