My uncle in from Monte, Candelaria, his mother was from Criacao Velha and
his father from Monte, His paternal grand-father was from Sao Mateus and
his paternal grandmother from Monte.

Manny what surname does your uncle's line lead to in Sao Mateus I have
several lines that lead there. I already know the other line leads to a
Brum in the 1800's. It would be so much easier if some lines didn't change
the surname every few generations.

Yes, you are correct. New researchers have found the same type of Portuguese J1-M365 in Viana do Castelo. I think we can find other types from the Minho in the Azores. We need more people to be tested and detect the modal haplotypes and the SNPs !

You are right. The samples are from Pico and they are related to the family of Senhor Manuel Martins. I think he also participates in this group.
