Thanks John,
We’ll throw as much charm on it as we can! And I’ll let you know how it turns
out. Wish me luck.

After 1910, the Civil Registries have the records.
New set of eyes needed :)!
Please read me the name of the father of the bride (Josefa da Costa)! (third

This is the database I'm referring to:

Every time I search the database I can only do one search and look at one
page. I go back to the result list and it won't open a new page for me.
It always opens the first page
At first I wanted to say he wrote Jose in Latin, but it doesn't look the
same as the Jozepha. I can see Joa, but it's hard to believe it's Joao or
Joam and doesn't look long enough to be Joaquin. Nor is it the correct
shape. Maybe he sneezed while he was writing? LOL
Joa_ Cabral de Aguiar?
Looks like Joseph Cabral de Aguiar.

I can't go back to my main list of search results either (using Firefox).
Maybe Sonia Pacheco at UMass will answer, but it's after 5 pm there.

Melody, I tried it and got server error when I tried to go back to the results.
Usually you can go back and the results show up again.

Another researcher asked me about something that I'd never seen before, so
I thought I'd ask here. His female ancestors was born in 1885 and migrated
to Hawaii with her parents. She had a tattoo on her arm which looks like w
w and then 3 or 4 symbols.
I'm curious if anyone has seen this
Granted, the name does look somewhat like Joseph but it is is Joam or Joao
Cabral de Aguiar. You can see it plainly on this record, which is Manuel de
Aguiar, brother of Josefa da Costa. The priest sometimes ended a name with
a flourish.
I clicked on that and it still didn't move to the other pages.
