Hi Freddy,
You can certainly run your own server There's a pretty good software
package for that: http://www.webtrees.net/. However, this is not a task I'd
recommend for anyone that's not an expert computer user (in Linux!!). An
alternative would be http://hosting.webtrees.net/ or
Hi, I've used TMG and just upgraded it from a 4 to a 8. I downloaded it. It is
confusing, and I have had to call a few times for help, but they are very nice
and they explain to you where you need help. I wish I had a book that I could
look at and take my time reading . That would be a lot
What about software for Macs. I use Reunion but don't really like it that
much. It seems clunky to me and looks dated. I also bought FTM and MacTree
but haven't made the switch to one of these yet. I'm leaning towards
MacTree because navigation seems more intuitive. Any opinions from Mac
users?
Márcio,
I will check it as george says... As soon as I have anything I will send it
back.

You are welcome, Elisue! I come across men sometimes from other Islands.
Usually I’m in a hurry and don’t make a note but today, since the Island was far
away, I jotted the info down.

The Mom,
Was there supposed to be a link attached?
You know the church, since you were looking at those parish records. And
if you don't know the church name, you can get it off of the Azores GenWeb.

Hello,
Thanks a lot! I did not know of this. I'm up in the wee small hours of
the morning pouring through it. That's why I love this group, so much
information and helpful people, all pretty much working towards the same

Thanks for the information. I t's a good day to play around and see what I can

MaryAnn S,
Reunion has 80% of the Mac share. I think MacTree (?) was 2nd. Since FTM
came out with a Mac version, they are gaining ground. RootsMagic was
talking about a Mac version, but I don't know what came of that (I'm not a
Mac user).
However, if you are Mac user running Parallels, VM
Thanks, Edna. I was afraid of that. Years ago I used LDS/FMC software and

I have been playing with Heredis all afternoon (a pretty complete trial
