The UPEC records are on microfilm and can be ordered from SLC. The films

The Family History Library (FHL) in Salt Lake City and its Family History
Centers (FHC) operate like any other library system. You go to your local
branch and they don't have it, but they can order it from the main branch.
Same with the FHCs. Anything on film or fiche can be ordered and sent to

Thanks so much for putting this data together!
I was wondering ... Are the UPEC documents on microfilm only in Salt Lake
City? Or can they be viewed at our local LDS Family Center? Or would the
microfilm need to be ordered?
I ask because I am an original member of the

You're misreading? I pointed him to similar names and asked him to check
the spelling? there was no intent of direction. He probably doesn't have an
island thus the question. In any case, I offered best I could.

Hi Linda,
Thanks for your help. The distinction between "found" at the house and "taken
in" is a significant one. I will check the obitos and baptismos as well.

I don't have the baptism of Jose, but I think you will find it about one
year after Antonio and Bernanrdina married in late 1828. That would make
him about 20 years old.

No idea what island? It's either a neighborhood on one of the Azores, or
maybe a place on Madeira or the continent. You need to do more research to

Thanks Rick for your suggestion and Cheri for your info. I had stopped
looking at the baptism records at the end of December 1827, then looked
