Actually, this book is a copy made at a later date of the original book of
baptisms for this time period. So the priest who made the copy could not read
the original and therefore not write the name because it was ' resgado' meaning
torn. I believe that CCA also has the original on line so see
Looks like Sebastiam Jacome de Resendes, sometimes you see Sebastiao spelled
that way in older records. As far as Cravalho vs Carvalho, I usually just
think the spelling wasn't always standard in those times, so different priests
misspelled names. Maybe some else on the list can chime in on

Yes JR I have seen errors in the copy. In my own instance when I found the
original I was looking for and compared it, the copy was incorrect. It was
only a Miguel vs Manuel name error but it had thrown me off for some time!

Campo, I can't find a couple's wedding because that time period is missing, I
can only trace one side further back because the bride's name is unusual. Very

(1950's and early 1960's) was Jewish, I don't know that much about him but his

I agree with JR that the Anna could be Maria. The other names look
like Antonio Pacheco Brandao and Andora de Jesus to me.
