It definitely IS difficult! I’d say by the preponderance of evidence.
Sometimes, in research as you know, you don’t get enough direct evidence for a
definitive answer, so you have to use the concept of preponderance of evidence.
So, collect every record you can for this person, couple, and

Recently it came to my attention that upon searching the internet for the
Azores GenWeb, there are two sites that pop up. One is the OLD Rootsweb site
that is no longer active or supported. It is, as of this time, over a year out
of date. Ancestry and Rootsweb are having issues that make it
I want to add my wishes for you all for a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and

There has been a new resource added to the Azores GenWeb. It is a death index,
covering the islands of Corvo, Faial, Flores, and Pico for the years 1911-1956.
It’s a searchable database index, allowing researchers to search by any field
or combination of fields ….. date, name, council, and

There have been some updates and additions to the Azores GenWeb ……
An updated version of the Sao Jorge Marriage Index with submitted corrections
has been posted. Additionally, we have added the capability to search the
entire index right from the Sao Jorge Marriage Index page, from any field
I agree, Rick. I don’t see this as any invasion of privacy. It identified and
helped to capture a very bad person who committed unspeakable crimes against
innocents. It’s just another tool in the arsenal of law enforcement.

As Cheri says, it is just the RootsWeb mailing lists that are back up. Sites,
such as the Azores GenWeb (which WAS hosted by Rootsweb) are still not
available. Recently, I did move the Azores GenWeb to this new address,
http://www.worldgenweb.org/azrwgw/, so please bookmark that new address and
y computer at work. I'll send you
samples/screenshot that will clarify what I was describing when I return to the
office either tomorrow or Tuesday.

I am a user of Reunion and may be able to help you. I’m not really
understanding your problem, though. If you upgraded from a prior Reunion
version, that family file would be updated to work with the new version of
Reunion. In this case, version 12. All your data should be in place.
No, in a perfect world, tools such as these indexes would be perfect with
no inaccurate information no stumbling blocks, as you say. I have no
real control over the accuracy of any material that is submitted to me.
That includes previously published work and websitesI don't know the skill

Ahem, it would be nice that a dozen or so people email the CCA and let them
know that the server is down. The CCA is on Terceira island. The server is on
Sao Miguel island. They don't always know when it's down. It's miles and miles
apart.
One person emails them.
