Today was the first time I thought of looking at these records for my
husband's side of the family and I was able to find info that had been
hiding from me.
I just had to know where to look!
Thank you!

So glad you were able to find something, Caroline! More people need to
check out those records, a gold mine for sure! Kathy and Susan put in a lot
of time and effort so that we wouldn't have to order the microfilm and just
have it at our fingertips!

The UPEC records are on microfilm and can be ordered from SLC. The films
will come to your local FHC for viewing.

The Family History Library (FHL) in Salt Lake City and its Family History
Centers (FHC) operate like any other library system. You go to your local
branch and they don't have it, but they can order it from the main branch.
Same with the FHCs. Anything on film or fiche can be ordered and sent to

Old Post ... I know.
Thanks so much for putting this data together!
I was wondering ... Are the UPEC documents on microfilm only in Salt Lake
City? Or can they be viewed at our local LDS Family Center? Or would the
microfilm need to be ordered?
I ask because I am an original member of the Visal

OK, I thought he was talking about the UPPEC, women's organization. Now
that you mention it, it was Celeste who did the indexing of the Death
Records of UPPEC. I don't know the years covered though.

The only clue was Jeremy said it started with an "S." And I don't know who
he quoted. Perhaps one of them will check their email on break and get back
to us.

I'm guessing Jeremy was talking about the SPRSI. He posted an excerpt and I
don't see the original author of the question.

If you are talking about the SPRSI, I don't know if any are stored in any
location such as the Freitas library, but I do know what happened to council
84, Sao Gabriel, which was organized in the Warm Springs area of what is now
Fremont. All my family was from this area and a little band of women
I think Celeste Perry knows about the women's records. SPSSRI??? Something
like that.

Kathy Cardoza and Susan Murphy have been indexing the death records for the
UPPEC but I think the Membership Rolls are probably at the J.A. Fritas
Library in San Leandro. Kathy is that correct??

Nooot exactly, Rosemarie. To clarify this, there has been no indexing done.
We just copied the records that have been microfilmed by the LDS Church. I
assume that the original records are at the J.A. Fritas Library in San Leandro.
