[backstage] Video on Demand Dissertation Survey
Hello Everyone, I am currently writing my third year dissertation on the subject of video-on-demand services and digital distribution as a whole. I have setup an survey here (http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/96QFCMZ), it only has 5 questions so it shouldn't take anymore than 30 seconds to complete. -- Simon Stirrat Broadcast Engineering Student at Ravensbourne College streetma...@gmail.com s.stir...@rave.ac.uk p.s. It would take 30 seconds, except it doesn't seem to work properly in WebKit. I hate SurveyMonkey with a passion :) You can have my answers, though: 1. Yes 2. 1-5 Hours 3.6-10 Hours (possibly bordering on 11 Hours or more. toss a coin to pick which answer I would have given) 4. Sometimes 5. ...Yes (5 is a bit of a huge leading question, really. I wouldn't pay for iPlayer as-is AND the TV Licence, and I definitely wouldn't pay for 4oD as-is, but I'm not unopposed to the principle of paying for on-demand: I funnel a set amount of money every month into my US iTunes account for on-demand movies, for example). p.s. In hindsight it would have been better to ask someone before spamming it out to everyone. I'm sorry Ian, I'll do things differently next time. Thank you everyone for there responses, I really appreciate it. And I'm very surprised that SurveyMonkey doesn't support WebKit, something else I'll remember next time. It seems to works in Chrome, which uses WebKit - so maybe just a Safari issue? Chrome uses a slightly special WebKit (I wasn't using Safari, but another browser which uses the system-installed WebKit). It almost worked... except that the options would magically uncheck themselves immediately after being checked. Using JavaScript to implement radio buttons and checkboxes is _bloody stupid_, though, so I wasn't about to waste time in finding out what animal must be scarified to make it work. I like to know where my responses will be used, how or if they will be anonymised, and if there is anything at all sensitive, some kind of mention that that they have been educated on the ethics of survey usage. -- Flash Bristow -www.gorge.org-07939 579090 - Sent via the backstage.bbc.co.uk discussion group. Is that all? I like to know where my responses will be used, how or if they will be anonymised, and if there is anything at all sensitive, some kind of mention that that they have been educated on the ethics of survey usage. When I undertook my BSc dissertation I was obliged to fill out and comply with a code of ethics with regards to the collection of personally identifiable data (and even how I undertook surveys or primary research), so I wouldn't be overly concerned with this. I used to get a bucketload of SurveyMonkey requests forwarded to my University account by various lecturers and project supervisors! My right eye is twitching a little at the sight of 'an survey' though... - Sent via the backstage.bbc.co.uk discussion group.
