on HD's and the second one will be used to do full-backups once a month
to single tapes. Both servers are actually NOT connected

I deleted all jobs which do no full backup.
I did the configuration in a
tapes to always do full backups ;-)

This can happen if you did use this tape before.
I had this once, I had to low-level format the tape to make it work
fully again.
You can use commands like
btape raw
or the
itdt
tool.
Important is to NOT use "Maximum Volume Bytes" in your config.
