I'm trying to understand Linux and since I was working with DOS and
Pascal since 1982, I thought that I had an advantage
Here is what I did:
upgraded with max memory my X22 ThinkPad and installed and uninstalled
all kinds of (k)unbutu, Mint, DSl etc.

disparaging the great work done by the bcm43xx team, but the fact is
that a reverse engineered driver will never be as good as a driver for
which the original source code or specs are released by the
