A user upgraded his blackberry tour from 4.5 to 5.0. he can no longer open
attachments. I deleted the Desktop [CMIME] service book and re-sent it and
that did not work either. Also, I found an KB article on blackberries website
and they told me to make sure the blackberry attachment service
I had this issue after using Enterprise Transporter to migrate users to a new
BES 5.0 server. I reactivated them and it stopped the messages.

We recently acquired another company and are in the process of moving those
users over to our Exchange and BES. I don't have enough free CALs to support
them all so was wondering if there's anyway to re-use the CALs from their BES
or will we have to buy some more?

Yes, you can reuse them but don't know of an easy way to export/import.

Deleted out one of the users having the issue and reactivated. Here's what
they report now.
Ok I did the activation but I still have the icon with the briefcase and red
arrow that says Activation-Incomplete when I go to it but once I click on it,
it says Your email address, {emailaddress} is
I've had the same issues, however only with Storm II users. It seems
the contacts folder from Exchange are taking FOREVER (2 days in most
cases) to fully sync down. Sure fire way to tell, look at the BB itself
and see if the Enterprise Activation icon is still on the desk (of

A user is having a problem with a personal mail account which concerns
me about out BES server. I know very little about Apple's Mobile Me.
He is getting a lot of spam in his sent mail folder which mobile me is
identifying as originating on his Blackberry.
Usually, in my experience,
Easy troubleshooting step is to remove the BIS account and see if the spam
continues.
There is at least one app out there that can be used to control a device, but
it requires manual installation.

If your users have unlimited they will be able to retain the unlimited
plan. Once they downgrade, make changes etc...you lose the ability to
opt back in. ATT = Devil!
