On Mon, 15 Jul 2002 15:16:13 +0200 Although I don't use it anymore, I did need to use FrameMaker at my former job. The symptom that you describe was duplicated because Frame on Solaris could not support 16-bit color (in my case). At higher (or lower) color depth it was ok.
