My apologies, it was a new idiot thing:
I included startx in .xinitrc, just while I would build LXDE.
This made X try to start one after the other in loop, then failed.
Just removed .xintrc, and X sterted fine.
Doh?
Tomorrow, I will try to start taking the tickets.
